@eaglebaby24 but slash, duff and steven were replacements as well. personally i dont really want to see axl and tracii guns & co rockin it out any time soon.
He is, however, the LAST rock star left. In terms of front men, at least.
Period.
There is no other front man who can grab a mic stand and gyrate without looking like a joke. Axl is, well, Axl.
His voice is still as good as it once was but his worst today combined with his untouchable presence is better than anyone could ever hope to aspire to.
Hopefully all parties will join together and cash the check and do the reunion tour.
very nice performance axl,and yes i think you guys are actually enjoying yourselves. im an old school gnr fan myself but i dont hate the new lineup i just reconciled myself to the fact that axl and the former members of gnr parted ways for good. peace out everybody. =)

@tickettor, to pretend that the only "honest" opinion is to put down this band is ludicrous. you speak for yourself and nobody else.
i find GNR 2010 to be absolutely fantastic. theyve received very strong reviews on their Canadian tour as well. wouldnt be the case if they "sucked"- by the way that kind of totally simplistic sentiment isnt generally associated with "fans".
why do you distort my words...i didnt say the only honest opinion was to put down this band, nor that my opinion was a general feeling...I believe there are people who are enjoying their new music...Don´t think i would have wished their new cd would have sounded like a new great guns n roses...it sounded like new crappy stuff, it could have been korn or linkin park, it was new but nothing special, that´s why i don´t even bother to acknowledge their new work, sucky songs...

@tickettor, whats wrong with performing WTTJ at NY Fashion Week?
slash just played at Fashion Week too. he mutilated Paradise City/SCOM with fergie & November Rain with Jamie Foxx/ T-Pain. are you going to go crying on slash videos?
axl's good times are very much here. haters cant bear it but Axl seems happier than ever before playing with fantastic musicians in GNR. while whiners sit whining, GNR have sold out 50,000 seaters in South America. :)
i heard the cd, lot of different styles indeed...but they don´t seem to master a single one...nothing of that cd sounds special...i mean, if you´re a limp bizkit fan its ok, you don´t expect much, but being gnr you expect a bit more...i just realized the times are long gone where we could expect great things from gnr, and maybe the future awaits the best gnr cd ever, but this was just a bad cd, may i say my opinion?
@tickettor, haha! they dont have to "master" a style to try it. artists spend their entire lives learning. only ignorants like you oppose that process.

@tickettor, GNR are terrific now just like before. the opinion of ignorant haters who cant even defend their opinions doesnt change anything.
i pity people like you-stuck in the past & consumed by hatred. what a miserable life but you've richly earned it.
GNR just did a highly successful Canadian tour & are about to embark on a stadium tour of South America where theyve already sold out 50,000 plus stadia. Axl is a great musician & a recognized legend :)
@tickettor, haha! just because slash left the band, its "fake". you jusat exposed yourself as the slash-worshipping hater you are. :)
GNR wasnt simply rock n roll - they tried a variety of styles. thats what CD does too.
your idol slash goes prostituting Paradise City and November Rain with Fergie, Cypress Hill, T-Pain and Jamie Foxx. why dont you go whining on his videos?
@tickettor, you DID try to present your own opinion as if it was the only honest opinion on GNR.
your words have exposed you as the dime a dozen hater that you TRULY are.
only an ignoramus who hasnt even LISTENED to Chinese Democracy would claim that it sounds like linkin park/ Korn.
tell me how EXACTLY does There Was a Time, Sorry, Madagascar, If the World, Street of Dreams, Prostitute, IRS, Catcher in the Rye, This I Love, Riad and the Bedoins sound like Korn/Linkin Park. i'll be waiting.
@ mrinalbuffy. mmm, korn and linkin park were just names to express something: bad music...sometimes it sounds like nu metal, sometimes like industrial rock, am i lying now?...is that far from korn or linkinpark? ok, then you name the names, still that really sucked...to me...oh, don´t tell me they really tried new things with world music just because a single intro (which turned out to be a crappy industrial type of song)
@tickettor, haha! since your ignorance has been exposed and you cant defend your weak comment, youre changing tune now. totally expected from the dime a dozen hater that you are.
Chinese Democracy is a journey through the history of rock- it includes countless different styles including influences from Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Queen, electronic, ambient music etc. industrial and nu-metal are just thrown into a mix with a hundred other styles. youre too ignorant to get this.
@tickettor, great bands like The Rolling Stones, Beatles and Led Zeppelin were always open to a great variety of music. just because youre close-minded and ignorant doesnt mean that GNR have to be.
absolutely ZERO song in Chinese Democracy sounds like Linkin Park. to call Shackler's Revenge "Korn" is to mis-characterize the song- the chorus has the classic GNR dance-rock type edge ala Mr. Brownstone. Axl has sung in a deep growl even on Its So Easy- nothing new for him to use that voice now.
@tickettor, the ambient sounds at the start of Chinese Democracy are a part of the atmosphere the song builds up. Chinese Democracy has a typical hard rock big riff- people have infact compared it to ACDC in reviews. trying to label the song industrial doesnt fit in with this.
you cant even form a coherent statement. you called CD an industrial/nu-metal album. i gave you a long list of names of songs that are IN NO WAY industrial/nu-metal. you cant answer so you mumble incoherently. :)
no, i am just honest with myself...and is not easy but so it is "when heroes go down", and it was a good lesson in my life learning to live with it...i just came to watch this video to confirmate what i already knew since long time ago...now, not more new gnr, till next album perhaps? i dont mind, there are so many great bands out there, its ok i enjoyed it while it lasted...and wish you the same...lots of fun
@tickettor, only in your dream world do you define "honesty".
your opinion isnt "honest"-its not even informed.its just a typical haters opinion who mouths off the same cliches robotically.
GNR isnt doing anything? looks like you got em confused with your idol slash's dead band Velvet Revolver- the band that got thrown out by its record company. poor slash cant keep a frontman. 3 bands, 3 feuds with his frontmen- same pattern. :)
new GNR is in the middle of an awesome tour. watch & envy. :)
@tickettor, axl's heading GNR that played before 1 million people in 2006 and is selling out stadiums in South America. Chinese Democracy sold 5 million copies withoyt him so much as releasing a video.
meanwhile your idol slash mutilates November Rain on tv, his last frontman scott weiland ditched him, his record company threw VR out.
matt sorum admitted that while scott could draw in 5000, axl brings in 50,000.
the only "hero" that fell was slash- money-hungry, media-packaged desperado. :)
@vertudo Speak for yourself! I'm brazilian and I totally disagree with u. It's so simple and clear to see who makes the difference in the band and who is replacable. Slash doesn't make all that difference. There's a lot of good guitarrists in this world but there's no one in the world that could be compared to Axl Rose... his voice, attitude, personality, his perfomance on the stage... etc etc. That's why GNR is alive 'till today making amazing shows like this one in NYC!
the song was written by izzy after hanging out at home and just listening to the radio and this DJ was talking about how his wife bitches and complains all day. thats the songs origin. not a dog.

the song was written by izzy after hanging out at home and just listening to the radio and this DJ was talking about how his wife bitches and complains all day. thats the songs origin. not a dog.

axl's having so much fun with this moving around just like the old days, his energy is infectious.
Tommy is circulating everywhere, sings a few lines with axl then goes and shares a laugh with frank. wonderful atmosphere.

Can we just enjoy this without turning it into a Slash vs Axl debate. Old news. Time to move on.
Thanks for the video!!
