Just fixed my xbox using this tutorial. It should be noted that I used Arctic Ceramique 2 instead of Arctic Silver, but it works just as well. Thanks for the tutorial. As for all the people who say this guy is retarded and doesn't know what he's doing, don't listen to them because my xbox works fine now.

@DovydasRybakas you comment is wrong. 1 red light usually means u have a problem with the GPU only. what happens is that the Heat Paste that Xbox use melts over the surrounding chips because it is really cheap. the 2 lights is when the CPU paste has gone over the chips and the 3 lights is when Both the chips have over heated due to the paste melting over the surrounding chips.The Paste causes the surrounding chips to heat up as it is mostly silver to repair this u will need to open the Console.

ok so i got the #8 driver today and i got the new screws and washers i see people advertising that you need to do the proper fix and i got everything done today but now im having a prob where the fans get louder and louder and louder then its like either the gpu or cpu overheats or fails and i get vertical black lines on the screen. if i go back and put the x brackets back on, i get the e 74 posting on screen with one red light, like i had before i started. what gives? i dont think i have faulty

i didnt even clean the processors that much just wiped as much of that old thermal compound off and put some more on it. lol

@iphonefreak20 You can use "Goo Gone" which can be found just about anywhere, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, Target, etc. It has multiple uses around the house so you get your moneys worth out of it but it also works fantastic on getting old thermal compound off. I just poured a little bit out of the bottle into a little plastic medicine cup, the kind the come on top of nyquil and such. Then I dipped a q-tip into the little cup to get some Goo Gone on it, then cleaned the processors with it
