I feel justified in privileging contemporary science over unjustified beliefs; however that does not render the argument beyond the scope of ethics. I would definitely take the stem cell treatment, it can be easily justified under a utilitarian framework, or even a Kantian framework.

I have done a tremendous amount of research on stem cell research. This video is very misleading and fudges many facts about embryonic stem cell research. For instance the statment that it makes about the body rejection the cells. While it is true that many normal ESC's are rejected by many patients, there is a VERY promising new type of stem cell that is produced by taking a patients own DNA and emplanting it into an embyo, to be cultured. These types of cells have an almost 0% rejection rate.
