The tracks were called Three orange kisses from Kazan, Mental healing process, Nature of virtue, Fruit of the heart and Waiting for the upturn. I'm not sure where you can get them but the do crop up on b'sides of the early singles. If you get in touch I can try and mail them to you as MP3s
to answer 666softcell's query: when Soul Mining was released on vinyl and cassette in 1983, the cassette had 5 extra tracks - this was one of them. When the vinyl was remastered on to CD the tracks on the casette disappeared. I'm so happy to have found this. Does anyone know anywhere that they can be bought? I'd love to have them again.

omg I can't believe I've found this. To answer the query from 666softcell, when Soul Mining was released on vinyl & cassette in 1983 the cassette had 5 extra tracks. When the vinyl was remastered onto CD the extra tracks on the cassette disappeared. This was one of them (the best, I think). Does anyone know where these tracks are available to buy? I'd love to have them again.
Good to hear this :) Its kind of similar to Another Boy Drowning in a way, but nothing wrong with that. I remember when I saw The The in 2005 or something and Matt was asking for requests. ABD came up and Matt said 'sorry we don't do that one any more - he drowned' :D
Yes it is very much like Another Boy Drowning, altho that didn't have flute LOL

Hello Sarah080991, thank you for your post. Maybe it is an idea to post the names of the tracks here. The The fans might help you in your search.
