  • not only like, but really like

  • what a beautiful song foa all to hear from da islands. may hawaii live on

  • ТОЛКОВА Е НЕЖНА

  • Does anyone else feel relaxed when hearing her sing this song?

  • @Merannie

Only one word"beautiful" both Tia Carrere and her singing.

    musicicanACW

  • How could someone dislike this?

  • @LittlePirat maybe for the bad graphics or they just jealous of her

  • What a beautiful rendition of such a beautiful song,,, written by an oh so Beautiful Queen, very sad the rape of this beautiful Nation,,, sad

  • @BigWheelHawaii i have a question, so who made this song, and yea its sad the hawaiian and many more small or even big culters have just been wiped out

  • MY WIFE & I HAVE BEEN TO HAWAII A FEW TIMES 9 OUR FAVOURITE PLACE)

  • Maika'i Tia! E ho'omau i ka 'olelo Hawai'i like me ko kupuna... e ho'omau Tia... e ho'omau!

  • Long time now since I was in Hawaii but this video reminds me of what a beautiful place on earth it really is. Never knew anyone as beautiful as Tia Carrere but mysteriously no one is ugly in Hawaii.

  • Diesen Titel gibt es in sehr vielen verschiedenen Versionen und jede davon ist einfach klasse.

    Gruß Bert

  • Wow if i hadnt of known i would of thought this was maori, but Im maori so I know its not lol.

  • lovely lady with a stunning voice. :D

  • i love this song. i love being a pacifican ilander :) i can understand what she's saying

  • her voice is so beautiful!

  • "Who cares if the song has a huge value to Hawaii? Who cares if her voice is beautiful? Who cares if the last Queen of Hawaii wrote it? She doesn't have a fuckload of makeup, clothes that scream 'I HAVE MONEY!!!!!' and she's not cool to everyone." It's sad, a Hawaiian royalty's last treasure, lost in history...may the hearts of the Hawaiians keep this melody playing in every heartbeat we have. <3

  • First of all im not a guy! So I surely would not consider myself among your ranks of gentlemen! As for my opinon of Tia Carrere's music...it has nothing to do with you, so get over it! I am born and raised hawaiian from the Big Island and have many valid reason for the previous comment that I made.

  • I was just wondering: Had I happened to have met you while I was on the island of Maui, many, many years, ago? There are heartstrings in your song that pull on mine...

    Old memories...

  • Ha Ha Ha this really is a JOKE! She is from the islands but she dosen't act like it. Sex might sell for many other forms of music, but NOT for REAL HAWAIIAN MUSIC that comes from the heart!! She can sing, she just dosen't do hawaiian music very well!

  • @kahailani You are really rude individual, and should not EVER consider yourself among the ranks of gentlemen.

    Go join the Buta Club.

  • @kahailani Hello? I'm sorry, but I *am* a guy and I completely missed the "Sex" part. I'd show this video to my own MOTHER (and grandmothers too). OK, there's a bit of bare shoulder here and there, but I've seen more at the local grocery store. No cleavage shots, no tight shorts. It might offend some Saudi mullah, but what doesn't?

I could write a page about the poor production values ($10 microphone), but I don't feel my MORAL values challenged.

What convent do you live in?

  • There's a FASTER version to this song..... I can't remember what the name was! Its really good....... anyone know???? :))

  • Que tiernooooooooooooooo ..... me derrito al escuyar es sublime.

  • I dont think most mainlanders realize just what this song means to our Hawaiian brothers and sisters. Aloha

  • Aloha. I`m Michael from Denmark. I`ve listening to your song in your video right now. I like it very much. I`ve just started to play Hawaii music myself. Because I always have been a little in love to Hawaii music. Michael

  • she not native Hawaiian

  • This song made me cry. The music video, her voice, her beauty all mixed together made it all calming and relaxing and sad :] it was a good sad feeling though :}.

  • Tia's voice is so beautiful and Daniel Ho's guiter is so relaxing. This music heals me so much!

  • Tia's voice is so beautiful and Daniel Ho's guiter is so relaxing. This music heals me so much!

  • mmm

  • Tia is known by her looks, but she can also sing. Queen is singing Queens song.

  • Of course some say while riding in the hills "she She witnessed a particularly affectionate farewell between Colonel James Boyd of her party and a lovely young girl from Maunawili." Then wrote this song while riding back to Honolulu. I like to think the former is true.

  • This song was written by Queen Lili`uokalani, last Monarch of Hawaii. Scholars feel it was a love song to the Hawaii she saw disappearing, never to return, soon to be stolen from its native people, by an illegal rebellion led by rich conservative sugar plantation owners of American stock, inorder to ensure their control over the wealth of the Islands.

Farewell to you, farewell to you

The charming one who dwells in the shaded bowers

    One fond embrace,

    'Ere I depart

    Until we meet again

  • @DIFowner I so agree with you. Even now, we hear of Hawai'ians getting their land stolen from them,

  • a good example of what i call a peacefull song ,sung by what i call a queen of heart <3

  • I've been on this beautiful island (OAHU) for 10 years & I love it! Aloha!

  • Love her♥

  • I find peace when I watch this video. When I was 24-27 years old and lived on the winward side, I use to love the ocean and this song---you play it beautifully thankyou.

    -Brandon Chicago

  • good job sis i love you dayna

  • I miss Hawaii

  • did she play nanis voice?

  • Fine Song!

    Thanks for Posting!

  • @deanboi1992 princess Kaʻiulani isnt an asian....

  • @HolaEpae The Girl The Played In The Movie Was Not Hawaiian .....!!!!!

  • @deanboi1992 you know what...google Princess Kaʻiulani and compare the real princess to Q'Orianka Kilcher and Tia Carrere and tell me who looks more alike. And also, im pretty sure Tia canʻt act in addition to her not being able to sing.

  • @HolaEpae That Not My Point I Said She Was Not Even Hawaiian She Didn't Even Sound Right Speaking Hawaiian.I Don't Need Google To Look Up This ...

  • was she the one who voiced nani in Lilo and stitch?...i loved how they sang it in the movie.....

  • @mystiFied117 Yeah she did.

  • @canonlyfloat i loved that part..that was my fave scene..

  • bravissima....

  • This song is just absolute genius. One of the greatest tunes ever composed. And this version is extremely beautiful, needless to say.

  • Tia Carrere is the most beautiful and talented singer ever, she sold alot of albums and won a Grammy award fore her great music, she is the most beautiful woman ever, she is the perfect woman, the most genectically superor lady in all the world, she is every young man's dreamgirl that ever saw her on TV,on the movie screen or in concert,I am Latino and I love beautiful brown skinned Latinas,Asians and Pacific Islanders like Tia Carrere, they are the most beautiful women in the world,I love Filipinas

  • beautiful. i am turning misty. a cousin surprisingly looks like here in this video, she's a few years gone. heard this song aplenty, growing up @ home, as often as the times mother was feeling gay & Happy ;-)

  • I cant believe she won a grammy...totally undeserving

  • this song is beautiful, and with Tia singing it, it makes it even more special, she sings it with so much passion for Hawaii

  • i broke up with my bf and that's also why this song got me crying

  • this video and song literally made me cry

  • tia sings with her heart to aloha 'oe. the queen knew of the overthrow when it was being planned even by fellow parishioners. she called it the circle of deceit

  • @latykai

    No

She did not even know that she might become queen when she wrote it.

  • @schusterlehrling Oh my, shes the queen of Hawaii!? I didn't know ... wow!

  • @lilisakura1

She was the last queen of Hawaii,

    Liliʻuokalani was her name.

She wrothe this song before she became queen and long before she was illegally overthrown by Sandford Dole and the usurps.

  • just beautiful...wow..

  • sem comentários...

  • Awesome 5***** beauty queen

  • Nice that there are you.

Thank you for this nice song.

  • @megagagnon1

Uh, you got the wrong tia!

  • beautiful song. go on tia. your doing very well and i like your singing and you.

    greetings from holland

  • jézusom hogy lehet ilyet kiírni?????

  • you are correct in saying that the song was written before the overthrow of her sovereign nation. However the evil deeds have been ongoing since the reign of her brother Kalakaua and the great mahele and bayonet constitution and sanford dole's plan to take over the nation. still i contend that a Hawaiian song has hidden meanings that are known only to the composer and whomever he or she discloses

  • amoureux de cette chanson triste...

  • szerintem szőrös neki.

  • She's so Beautiful!

I want to go to Hawaii so bad now!(:

  • @ArielPurrincess63 you R absolutely right. she has a great voice, and the world should be thankful for it.

  • twobon the essence of yourcomment escapes me. Hawaiian songs have a hidden meaning (kaona) that only known to the writer or composer in this case, Queen Liliuokalani. she may very well be expressing her longing to agin see her sovreign nation restored to its rightful owner the hawaiian people.

  • @latykai

She wrote it long ago before the historical deeds took place that lead to the infamous coup against her.

So you are completely wrong about this.

  • @schusterlehrling Personally, I disagree with you. Even before the actual take over, Hawai'i was already getting overrun by people from US, Europe and other places. So, maybe Queen Lili'uokalani was actually longing for her conutry and lament it's being over run by non Polyneian people. The native Hawaiians even at that time were becoming a minority in their own land.

  • @latykai Whenever I hear this song, I am also reminded, personally, of the takeover of Hawai'i by the United States. There are some Americans and some quislings here in my country who want the United States to take it over. As much as it is unlikely to happen, when I hear this song, I also have some thoughts about how many people in the US wanting their government and army to invade my country and some traitors here support such a move and I just well up. I don't want to lose my country. ;((

  • ;((

  • sublime!D'une beauté nostalgique et apaisante

  • tia u have a great voice it sure runs in the family

    dayna carrere

  • Tia, this is beautiful!!! You and Saundra have a fantastic voices. I have yet to hear Audra sing. Anyway, I am so proud to be your Auntie. Luv you!

  • no statute or election has ended our queens reign over her sovereign nation of hawai'i. the US has illegally ovethrown our queen Liliuokalani as ruler. please Mr. Obama give it back restore our nation.

  • only if you put Tia Carrere as queen

  • well ilive in hawaii in ewa beach can beat that

  • unlike many of todays pop stars, she can actually sing....its a shame that singers arent recognized anymore for their singing ability. Its all glamour and lights now-ehem lady gaga, britney spears ehem-

  • It's true for most part. Singers like this are often forgotten.

  • @pcdokken I totally agree with you about what you said about everything but the Lagy Gaga bit, she isn't really glamour lolz, she's ugly and wears really wierd clothes, she's got an orite voice as well, but this sing is great! I agree with you there!

  • I like this so much and

    I love Hawaii forever

  • Beautiful & Talented.

  • Yes indeed!

  • If Hawaii was an independant nation, this would be her second national anthem.

This song was inspired by a romantic scene, but in her heart, Queen Liliuokalani was bidding farewll to her motherland, namely, Hawaii.

  • Absolutely highlight!

  • she was awesome in lilo and stitch

  • Oi Kamaka au aloha

  • Great! It is amazing! I love it. :)

    Thanks.

  • man her voice and beauty go hand and hand

Tia Carrere Hawaiiana Haiwaiian music Aloha oe

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, she is so beautiful, this song reminds me of home.

  • This rendition of Aloha Oe is so beautiful. She brings it out so nicely and seems to take me back to an earlier time in Hawaiian history. Thanks for posting it.

  • This is gonna sound weird but this reminds me of Lara Croft and her mother. This song is so lovely.

  • lara croft has a mother? :S

  • Yes. There have been two games revolving around her, yes.

  • what was the mother's name? and which games?

  • Lady Amelia and she was in Legend & Underworld.

  • thanks

  • Can U send me an mp3 o'this song to my email? I would appreciate it! I searched for it online and when I bought it I couldn't put it on my mp3 player, I felt ripped off!

  • ahe was awsome in waynes world

  • Beautifully done. Written by our Queen Liliʻuokalani.

Haʻaheo ka ua i nā pali

Ke nihi aʻela i ka nahele

E hahai (uhai) ana paha i ka liko

    Pua ʻāhihi lehua o uka

    Aloha ʻoe, aloha ʻoe

E ke onaona noho i ka lipo

    One fond embrace,

    A hoʻi aʻe au

    Until we meet again

  • Daniel Ho is awesome!

  • this song is beatuiful!!! i love this song

  • very beautiful ^__^ I love Hawaii

  • The gret thing about her is that as a modern woman who embraced western lifestyles, still can touch her foundation in Hawai'i and know who she is and where she came from , not many can say that. HAwai'i is a special place and its even more special when you are Hawaiian by blood by birth and are rooted from this land .. WORK IT OUT GIRL!!!!aloha

  • omg I like her & watching her act as well & I never knew that she sang. She sounds awesome.

  • Tia is so beautiful, and she CAN sing!

  • GO tIA!!!!GO SAMOA. I KNOW U R SAMOAN. U REALLY PUT US ON THE MAP. U GO GIRL ALOFA ATU..SAMOAN REPRESENTZ....

U SHOULD SING A SAMOAN SONG NEXT TIME OK IA FA LAIA...

  • i use to watch her sing whenever she stop by Samoa, sadly though she ain't Samoan! her parents worked in Samoa, they then divorced & the dad ended up re-marrying his Samoan secretary...

it still puzzles me why she visits Samoa every now and then...good voice though :D

  • My fav. tune from the Hawaiian Islands... different to the other polynesian love songs of the Islands, and different to my own culture... aussieimportedkiwi

  • She can hit the low keys well.

  • um that is rude and she's not Mexican she's Hawaiian,Filipino, and Asian

  • du

    she nawer near meskin

  • Beautiful!

  • it reminds me days in Hawaii.

    beautiful..

  • danm this place truly is paradise wish i was living there

  • her voice is amazing, I wonder what she would sound like if she sang thet in english

  • When I first saw her she was in a show called Relic Hunter (which was my favorite show) but i think it was cancelled. I am wowed by her voice. I didn't know she sang. My dream since I was a little girl has always been to go to Hawaii...One day!!!

  • haha i loved relic hunter too!

  • Great minds work alike! I *never* missed Relic Hunter.

Tia Carrere is very easy on the eyes, *and* very easy on the ears!

    Yay Tia!

  • i was the hula dancer for this video. i am not joking.

she is such a sweet person. if you ever get the chance to see one of her shows, you should. they are simply amazing. Daniel Ho and Tia Carrere are amazing.

go buy the album on itunes. :)

  • if you truly are telling the truth, i'm not saying your not, that is great, and thank you for sharing that.

She does have a beautiful voice.

  • aloha oe lyrics/not whole thing aloha oe, aloha oe,ikeona ona noho ikanipo one found in brace ahoea ea until we meet again until we meet again/i am hawaiin

  • ROFL nooblet, it's "one fond embrace" not "one found in brace" LOL

  • Such a disgrace to see such poor hawaiian language penmanship. The correct lyrics for the chorus are . .

    Aloha 'oe, aloha 'oe,

e ke onaona noho i ka lipo.

    One fond embrace,

    a ho'i a'e au,

    until we meet again.

  • Very pjutiful and sweet, the voice and the actres.

maybe i go wan day from munich do hawaii.

  • you should come to Hawaii.I bet you must love it.I am a college student in Hawaii, and there are so much great sight that you never expect before..

  • Where i can download this clip?

  • I'm Spanish but people all over the world love Tia Carrere's music and voice, she is very popular in Canada,Mexico,Europe,Philipines,Puerto Rico,Asia and Australia and she is a famous actress here in the United States,She loved here in America, she is the most beautiful and talented actress and a great music artist in her own right, her album was nominated for a Grammy and that's impressive.

  • she is wow her and nani look so much alike

  • she played the voice of nani in Lilo and Stitch.

  • really!?

  • she looks so familiar is she in like pocohontis or something??

  • no lilo and stitch...also Wayne's World that what I recognize her from... but she been in this and that... 'IMDB' her man

  • she has the most beautiful voice I have ever heard!Hawaiian sounds so beautiful!

  • You're correct, the hawaiian language IS IN FACT the most beautiful language ever! E pololei 'oe! hana maika'i
