A few of my friends were actually there and Carrie was not booed off the stage. She got JOKINGLY booed. She never left crying. And she never got booed for a stupid rain comment. This is awesome. Way to go FFA! Carrie Underwood is a very talented singer and I love her music, yet I do NOT support her in any way because of her views on issues like this when she is a so-called "country singer". Absolutely nothing about her is country, and she is a perfect example of what I would call a hypocrite. Not to mention she also supports PETA who have successfully closed all horse slaughter in the US, so now our horses get shipped to un-regulated Mexico plants and suffer there.

Lastly warriorgurl, HSUS does have shelters that they operate. It isn't their main objective, where is perhaps where the confusion is, but they exist. And saying that animals don't have rights because they can't vote is ridiculous. Really, did you need to clear up that they can't vote? When people talk about animal rights, they are just mean that animals deserve to live a decent life, not be tortured, and not be treated as an inanimate object or property, as they often are.
And to Warriorgurl, yeah PETA euthanizes animals that are in such terrible condition that they are near death, but they don't just euthanize animals because they don't have the space, as many shelters do. Since PETA is involved in many rescue missions, they encounter animals that are in such pain it is heatbreaking. Those are the animals they euthanize. And they should. Oh wow. I'm in FFA and I support animal rights too but theres somewhat a limit when it comes to livestock and agriculture. but for the record, I would not have walked out on her. Last year they had Toby Keith at the convention (worst concert ever) and I would have gave anything to swap him for Carrie Underwood. Not that I like country music, but Carrie is wayy better. and its ironic that she would come to an ag convention! lol what damage would she be capable of?

After reading through comments, I see that many people don't fully understand the issue addressed here, which seem prevalent among issues regarding agriculture. Carrie Underwood is a supporter of the Humane Society and PETA. These organizations are both Animal Rights activist groups NOT animal welfare. Animal Welfare has to do with treating animals with care, but like animals by feeding, taking to vet, etc. Animal Rights believes that animals should have the same rights as humans.
... and in that sense of being an Animal Rights activist and being public about it and participating in PETA's advertisements, she is not supporting animal production but instead promoting that us to end production and for consumers to stop purchasing meat. Her support can greatly impact all livestock producers because she's influencing people not to consume meat or support livestock production. It indirectly hurts the farmers because if supply is down then what profit does the farmer make?
The FFA kids walked out on her not because she's a vegetarian, but because she is a member of HSUS. HSUS is against all meat producers across the board.
FFA is NOT just meat producers, it's agriculture. That includes crops, which means vegetables. FFA is also NOT just rural kids. It has much more to offer than most people think.

When they have concerts at the FFA Convention it's always two or more singers in one concert. It's likely that they went and watched the other singer(s) before her and then left when she came on.

The week before the concert she made a bunch of people mad at a Herford assn. banquet.. They caused the uproar. We were a bunch of kids.... I was there. It didnt make sence for Carrie to sing to us. We had Jason Aldean (He was in FFA) and he had the hit out -Amarillo Sky, the group Heartland which are strong supporters of FFA, and then there was Carrie Underwood. Yes, she had a FFA t-shirt on, but she knew nothing about us. Yes she supports PETA and I do not hold that against her, but, if she is not going to support my way of life because I am a beef cattle producer, than I am afriad that I have the right to walk out of her concert.

I was at that concert, and I can only say that the number of students who walked out was pretty un-noticable. The vast majority of them stayed. Unfortunatley, most kids seem to be oblivious to current events, even when it's explained to them. I support the walk-out, but a more noticable tactic would have been not to pay for the tickets in the first place. Even if you walked out, she still got your money.

I'm really concerned about anyone saying they would support someone NO MATTER WHAT. Carrie can love animals (who doesn't?) and be a caring person, but the associations she makes, the friends she has, and the organizations she loves, are a better indication of who she really is inside. It is about time that more people started showing how they feel about HSUS and PETA. They are working hard to take our rights away from all of us. They don't want us to eat meat and eventually no pets. They are trying to get mandatory spay/neuter laws passed all over the USA. Spay/Neuter by 4 months of age. How long would it then take to have no pets of any kind? PETA also supports ALF which is on the FBI Terrorist list.

The bottom line is that she financially supports 2 extremist animal activist organizations. These groups are violent, aggressive, and dangerous. Heads of these organizations have admitted to wishing to see people who have animals and eat meat be killed. They have compared eating chicken to the holocaust. They have killed countless animals citing that they are better off dead than being adopted by families. In one case even dumping the bodies in a dumpster. We have rights that they want to take.
By supporting Carrie financially you are also supporting these organizations. It's her right to be a vegetarian as much as it is our right to eat meat and have pets. To each his own. I was at this concert, She sucked any way. Those who walked out did not miss much. FFA is not dumb. It is largest youth organization it the United States. If you like having clothes and food then you need a farmer to help produce them then. Cause I don't think you want to have to make it all for yourself.

Im a FFA NATIONAL CHORUS member and i was there that night in INDY and her concert rocked.! This video shows a few people who left, after the concert was over. whoever left during her concert made no difference whatsoever. B/c that place was filled with FFA members, who enjoyed her concert. Just because she doesnt want animals to be slaughtered doesnt mean that she does not support the FFA.and PEOPLE need to learn to pick there battles. this video did nothing but tick people off.

Many people don't understand the FFA. What the kids did here was stand up for their beliefs, just like Carrie Underwood has done. I am an FFA member, and my SAE (supervised agriculture experience) is cattle production. I respect vegetarians and what they believe, don't get me wrong. But my family also relies on our cattle tremendously, it's a source of income for us that is absolutely necessary. I'm not saying anyone is at fault here, but I think more people need to understand agricultural life.

This is awesome. Way to go FFA! Carrie Underwood is a very talented singer and I love her music, yet I do NOT support her in any way because of her views on issues like this when she is a so-called "country singer". Absolutely nothing about her is country, and she is a perfect example of what I would call a hypocrite. Not to mention she also supports PETA who have successfully closed all horse slaughter in the US, so now our horses get shipped to un-regulated Mexico plants and suffer there.

So horse meat is way different from killing pigs and cows, because 98% of America eats them, where as welll below 50% eat horse meat. Although I think in almost all cases its unncessary. Carrie probably should not have shared her talents at such an event, but walking out on her for being vegetarian is a bit extreme. Lastly warriorgurl, HSUS does have shelters that they operate. It isn't their main objective, where is perhaps where the confusion is, but they exist. And saying that animals don't have rights because they can't vote is ridiculous. Really, did you need to clear up that they can't vote? When people talk about animal rights, they are just mean that animals deserve to live a decent life, not be tortured, and not be treated as an inanimate object or property, as they often are.

And to Warriorgurl, yeah PETA euthanizes animals that are in such terrible condition that they are near death, but they don't just euthanize animals because they don't have the space, as many shelters do. Since PETA is involved in many rescue missions, they encounter animals that are in such pain it is heatbreaking. Those are the animals they euthanize. And they should. After reading through comments, I see that many people don't fully understand the issue addressed here, which seem prevalent among issues regarding agriculture. Carrie Underwood is a supporter of the Humane Society and PETA. These organizations are both Animal Rights activist groups NOT animal welfare. Animal Welfare has to do with treating animals with care, but like animals by feeding, taking to vet, etc. Animal Rights believes that animals should have the same rights as humans.

FFA is NOT just meat producers, it's agriculture. That includes crops, which means vegetables. FFA is also NOT just rural kids. It has much more to offer than most people think.

The week before the concert she made a bunch of people mad at a Herford assn. banquet.. They caused the uproar. We were a bunch of kids.... We thought she was bashing the cattle producers... so a lot walked out... I still respect her as a singer/performer. They WERE all supporting FFA and I am grateful. We had Jason Aldean (He was in FFA) and he had the hit out -Amarillo Sky, the group Heartland which are strong supporters of FFA, and then there was Carrie Underwood. Yes, she had a FFA t-shirt on, but she knew nothing about us. Yes she supports PETA and I do not hold that against her, but, if she is not going to support my way of life because I am a beef cattle producer, than I am afriad that I have the right to walk out of her concert.

Also look into a study on children ceasing to thrive and brain damage from nursing off of vegan mothers. and children forced to eat a vegan diet. I was at that concert, and I can only say that the number of students who walked out was pretty un-noticable. The vast majority of them stayed. Unfortunatley, most kids seem to be oblivious to current events, even when it's explained to them. I support the walk-out, but a more noticable tactic would have been not to pay for the tickets in the first place. Even if you walked out, she still got your money.

They kill animals.and even killed one of the TWO Arctic wolves left in our country.I HATE PETA also...only PETA kills ALOT MORE animals. I have dogs & other animals. I'm really concerned about anyone saying they would support someone NO MATTER WHAT. Carrie can love animals (who doesn't?) and be a caring person, but the associations she makes, the friends she has, and the organizations she loves, are a better indication of who she really is inside. It's good to see those great FFA kids who understand the difference between animal welfare and animal activistism. The HSUS is a very dangerous group for any freedom-loving, animal-loving American. It is about time that more people started showing how they feel about HSUS and PETA. They are working hard to take our rights away from all of us. They don't want us to eat meat and eventually no pets. They are trying to get mandatory spay/neuter laws passed all over the USA. Spay/Neuter by 4 months of age. How long would it then take to have no pets of any kind? PETA also supports ALF which is on the FBI Terrorist list.

I attended the 1983 Nat. FFA convetion and only wish I could have been a part of such an important and powerful demonstration.I am so PROUD of these young people for standing up for our rights as Americans.The rest of us need to take notice and also do our part instead of standing by as we are made to become vegetarians and aren't allowed to own ANY animals.THANK YOU to these FFA members and everyone please follow their lead!

The bottom line is that she financially supports 2 extremist animal activist organizations. These groups are violent, aggressive, and dangerous. Heads of these organizations have admitted to wishing to see people who have animals and eat meat be killed. They have compared eating chicken to the holocaust. They have killed countless animals citing that they are better off dead than being adopted by families. In one case even dumping the bodies in a dumpster. We have rights that they want to take.

Carrie Underwood is a proud supporter and spokesperson of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the same group that killed over 90% of the animals in its care in the year 2007. Im a FFA NATIONAL CHORUS member and i was there that night in INDY and her concert rocked.! This video shows a few people who left, after the concert was over. whoever left during her concert made no difference whatsoever. B/c that place was filled with FFA members, who enjoyed her concert. Just because she doesnt want animals to be slaughtered doesnt mean that she does not support the FFA.and PEOPLE need to learn to pick there battles. this video did nothing but tick people off.

Many people don't understand the FFA. What the kids did here was stand up for their beliefs, just like Carrie Underwood has done. I am an FFA member, and my SAE (supervised agriculture experience) is cattle production. I respect vegetarians and what they believe, don't get me wrong. But my family also relies on our cattle tremendously, it's a source of income for us that is absolutely necessary. I'm not saying anyone is at fault here, but I think more people need to understand agricultural life.

I was at this conv & the concert. IT DID NOT HAPPEN LIKE THIS! And this guy editing the little video for you and making it all dramatic. HA Ha HA! Funny! Yes, there were like 20 kids who walked out in protest. Out of 20,000! And the other footage in video is just kids walking out at different times during the concert. FFA kids have curfews at con, or early events they have to get up for. We all heard about your little cause before conv. Get your facts strait before you make a fool of yourself!
