  • I agreed with Almanzo, Laura was too hard on her, and he said they should have talked about the whole situation with her a long time ago. I understand it was tough love, but you had to be in Jenny's shoes. Laura still had her parents, and Jenny is a little girl who lost both of her's in a few years apart from one another. She was hurting.

  • Jenny and Jeb are great together!

  • i love jeb <3

  • umm laura needs to back off. her dad just dies idiot!

  • @TheMissBeauty101 i do see your point but laura had to be cruel to be kind.

  • @TheMissBeauty101

the kid tried to kill herself. what is a person supposed to do. back off more and let the kid self destruct. she needed a good talking to, to make her realise that she was hurting everyone around her. and that they do care about her. maybe Jenny didn't know that. she barely knows her aunt and uncle.

    what a idiotic comment.

  • @Rowan07001484 ummm excuse me. that is my opinion . Did I ask for yours? No. No I did not, thank you very much. I am 13 so i see things from a much diffrent point of view.. So back off idiot!

  • @TheMissBeauty101 if you comment on a video, expect to get replies. hopefully as you grow up you'll get a personality transplant. I could have been a lot harsher about your comment. which was pointless, to say the least.

i HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING TO YOU EXCEPT DISAGREE WITH YOU. DID I CALL YOU AN IDIOT? NO, I DIDN'T. But the evidence is clear.

  • @Rowan07001484 wow ok. you know what have a nice life. good day. please do not reply.

  • jeb is so sweet ^^

  • Its JEnny not JInny

  • It's Shannen Doherty!

  • @voxgirl Yes, from Beverly Hills 90210 and Charmed to name a few of her shows.

  • pigion- i guess he does'nt give them names

did'nt think she was underwater long enough to be unconsious

  • 3:45 is so sweet

  • Great idea Laura, yell at a suicidal child about how selfish, self-pitying and ungrateful she is, and about how she almost caused someone else's death, when she's already expressed misplaced guilt about her father dying. Hmm...

  • @ArwenPendragon - Gotta respectfully disagree. Laura tried to be patient and give Jenny space/time to deal with her grief on her own - and she nearly kills herself and an innocent bystander. Laura's speech shocked Jenny back into reality that it's not all about her. Yes, she's really hurting over losing her dad, and that's ok. But Jenny’s dad loved her and would have wanted a good life for her. And if Laura hadn't have told her that, she might have tried to kill herself again...and succeeded.

  • 1:36 the guy who plays Jeb Carter is a very bad actor

first he ran aut and screaming Jennys name then he talked to himself

who is the actor of Jenny?

  • @MrChipi12345 the actress playing jenny is Shannon Doherty best known 4 beverly hills 90210, Charecters talk to themselves 4 the benefit of the audience, happens in alot of shows

  • 3:42 is so romantic with Jed and Jenny together

  • i dont believe in a God,not raised with a God but that speech by laura gives me chills and tears in good ways everytime but i will never have a God tho.

  • Go Laura she delivers a nice, strong speech, but she keeps her cool and does not lose her temper. I wish I could respond that way every time something happens like that.

  • YEAH LAURA!!!!!

  • Jeb Carter: A true American hero. I mean seriously, how cool do you have to be to be able to rescue a girl despite not knowing how to swim?

  • I'm not a fan of the new Carter family, but I do commend Jebb for such a good job. I empathize with him 'cause I'm 23 and have always been afraid of water too. I took me so long to learn, and when I was 11 I finally did it. But since then I haven't been swimming in so long, that I have actually forgotten how to swim!

  • Well, we all have our tastes. Personally, I loved the 9th season with the Carters.

  • someone needs to push you into the water. due it's just a bunch of drops together to form a puddle. get a friend and go into the water .

  • that kid has some balls

  • Man, all these months later, and this episode still warms my heart and breaks it at the same time.

  • Lol, 1:10 Jeb leaves the front door open, but 1:39 it is closed and he opens it :D

  • how can he all of a sudden swim?

  • he was too scared to let his best friend drown that his caring for her became more important to him that worrying about not knowing how to swim.

  • @starrbeatlesqueen he forgot to think about his own fear. That's how it usually is with overcoming a fear.

  • did she try to kill herself?

  • Wow Laura is so right about the importance of living life at your best. We die when it is our time to die. But then again, I start thinking that life is short and that we may be gone today, tomorrow or sooner. But life is still worth living.

  • Wow! Go Laura!

I never saw this one before. Thnx for posting!

  • i dont know maybe she held her breath before going under the water...how can you break your wrist by doing it yourself...without falling or anything

  • laura and jenny were the best togehter here

  • one water mistake maybe

  • i saw a shannen interview on tyra.she said after 25 years of acting, little house was the best she done

  • Hmm, perhaps it wasn't just a coincidence that Jeb forgot to leave that little piece with the cage.

  • LOL he's splashing around while she's only waist deep!

  • She wasn't even under water for so long. How come she's unconsious already?

  • good point..

no one gets unconsious that quickly under water..

  • sometimes people can become unconscious even after 30 seconds of being underwater cause of oxygen deprivation.

  • Like Spiderman or Sonic the Hedgehog, Jeb arrives just in time.

  • HELLOOO? HAVEN'T YOU EVER HEARD OF CPR? If this wasn't a TV episode she'd probably be dead.

  • aww at 3:44 they look so cute, even thought she just attempted suicide

  • I know I am probably wrong but isn't her parents supposed to be Almanzo's brother Royale? I thought that Royale had the boys that stay with Laura and Almanzo? Or is that another brother?

  • Jenny's father is the same brother that had the boys. It was a goof on the writer's part. Almonzo also has another brother, Perly Day who appeared in one episode and was never seen or heard about again.

  • its to bad jeb and jenny couldn't grow up more on the show to be together, you could tell they liked each other in the way that when they were older they'd be together...

  • Dad burnit!

  • AMEN SISTER

  • The funny thing is, I didn't even know this friend at the time, she told me about her feelings after we'd known each other for awhile.

  • Interesting..

  • huh?

  • Well, I would think you'd be pretty good friends with the person who risked their own life for yours. I love how he just curls up next to her on the shore.

  • That whole speech by Laura was sheer brilliance. Where do they come up with this stuff? And thank God Jeb forgot to give Jenny the cylinder.

  • Good writers and Michael Landon are the keys to the success of this show, not to mention a great cast! Everyone did a terrific job in their acting roles on Little House! :)

  • Laura has never been more right than in what she said to Jenny. I actually told thif friend how much it meant to me to have her alive and well. God just laid it on my heart to say that to her, it sure wasn't just spontaneous. I like Jeb's awareness here. "Where would she go? The pond!"

  • Yes, Laura showed great parenting skills in this epi. I aslo like the freiendship b/w Jeb & Jenny. Jeb was such a good friend to Jenny during her time of need.

  • Well, thank you for posting this video. Not only is Little House one of my favorite shows of all time, but this episode means so much more to me now.

  • You're very welcome! :)

  • This season of Little House is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay underappreciated.

  • Hi drumfreak87! I just want to thank you for sharing your story regarding your friend's thoughts of suicide. I am so happy to hear your friend decided life is worth living. I'm glad she came to her senses as well. Life may be hard sometimes, but I believe its definetly worth living.

  • Wow, this episode hits kind of close for me. I have a friend who used to have thoughts of suicide. Thank God she came to her senses and realized life was worth living.

  • Laura's right in all she said to Jenny. My prayers are with you and your family, sakuralor. God hasn't forgotten you.

  • *sniff sniff* it was kinda hard to watch this part cause i recently lost 2 of my cousins to suicide in which one of them survived.but now suffers severe brain damage from jumping into the hudson river in new york.geez i miss them so much T_T ,thanks for uploading as always ^_^

  • Gosh, I am so sorry for your loss of your loved ones. What a horrific experience to have to go through. My thought's are with you and your family... Wow, I know you must miss them a lot. Life can be so hard sometimes... That's why I'm greatful we have positive uplifting shows, such as LHOP, to help keep our spirits up through the hardest of times. :)
