you can't compare the wbc to the world cup. when the world cup first started in 1930, some serious teams (like England) thought it was going to be a joke. You have to give the WBC a chance. It's only the second time they're doing it. My only wish is that the WBC should be pushed to late Nov. early Dec. because it's conflict with spring training causes all the good players to skip the tournament
