RAF carpet bombed their own troops in 5 different incidents from El Alamein to Burma. The USAF has once such case - Op Cobra. No US ship ever sunk another one...but the royal navy has a handful of such cases.
from my own experience, the times the Iraqi army fired upon us was covered up for diplomatic reasons, but our own behavior could never be hidden due to the BLU force tracker. Every round fired was documented.
Every criticism of the Iraqis or Afghanis has not gone unpunished in the same sense. We've had many generals fired just because they spoke their minds on the truth of the situation.

a nice google search on friendly fire shows 3 british incidents for every 1 american incident. We have never killed 400 brits in one peace side excercise as the royal navy did to the us army troops during Excercise Tiger.
RAF carpet bombed their own troops in 5 different incidents from El Alamein to Burma. The USAF has once such case - Op Cobra. No US ship ever sunk another one...but the royal navy has a handful of such cases.

from my own experience, the times the Iraqi army fired upon us was covered up for diplomatic reasons, but our own behavior could never be hidden due to the BLU force tracker. Every round fired was documented.
Every criticism of the Iraqis or Afghanis has not gone unpunished in the same sense. We've had many generals fired just because they spoke their minds on the truth of the situation.

as for friendly fires...It was the british who committed the first friendly fire of the war, when a british soldier in Basrah shot and killed a british tank commander. In a similar circumstance a fusilier was killed by a tanker when we fired upon his own armor. The only tank on tank friendly fire of the Iraq war in which another tanks turret was blown off was a British incident....also in Basrah.
