i liked this video untill i saw the MR. i like the car but the GSR is better in my opinion based on the simple fact that the GSR comes with a standard trans.

@TheMustachemurderers Errrgh, these are some of the most advanced AWD cars in the world. The AWD system even uses yaw sensors which are more airplane tech than car. These things can fly around highway clover-leaf ramps at stupid fast speeds thanx to the computer in the car performing so many readings and corrections to the wheels.

@15Joseph Guess you don't know much about the Evo X MR. They are the SST 6 speed transmissions. They are all like that, unless you have the GSR model, then it's a basic 5 speed manual.

@15Joseph Its the MR version, so of course its auto. It has a paddle shifter that shifts faster than any traditional transmission.

@RainingSushi Correction: it's an automated-manual, not an automatic. If it has a clutch (or in this case, clutches) it is no longer an "automatic". If it has paddle shifters but still uses a torque converter, then it's an "automatic" with sport-mode (e.g. '07-'08 Acura TL type-s).

I'm sure anyone would know exactly what it is especially since paddle shifting transmissions are expanding. There wasn't one bit where I said there wasn't a clutch I drive evo's daily and I prefer the paddles on this model.

@ksmuffin I get what you are saying, but the TC-SST is NOT an "auto trans"; It's an automated-manual. To answer your question from a tech/sales point of view; I would say the TC-SST is a better buy. At this level of car, the manual (stick shift) starts to seem as a strip-down trim level. I would however get into an EVO X anyway you can, so if the extra cost of the upgrade to the TC-SST is what's keeping you from getting one, just get the GSR.

@detroy54321... Actually they do have it available in a manual transmission in the GSR trim. The MR, such as the one in this video does not have an automatic tranny. It uses a dual clutch transmission such as ones in the Nissan GTR, Audi/VW, Ferrari and others. It's controlled either by the paddle shifters, or the stick in sequential style operation, or you can switch it to auto mode. But it is far from being an "auto tranny."

@kamionkami1 Yeah, but the truth is that the EVO X is technically better in every way when compared to the EVO VIII & IX. The vibe around Mitsu is that the EVO X is the final product of the AWD Turbo 4-banger Gas Motor EVO, from now on (most likely) the EVO will evolve on a different tangent.

The gear changes happen faster than you can blink (literally). I like rowing gears too, but better is better and Twin-clutch is technically the winner hands-down !
