I did love watching this - the only thing I remember being disappointed by was the interpretation of Helen, but for the most part I thought they portrayed the sense of abandonment in the original quite well. Including the opening speeches frm the gods would've have given the play an additional layer of irony, but that might have subtracted from the characters' hopelessness, so I can sort of understand why they cut that bit out.
I loved this show! Wish that the National would put it on again for one more season, it was brilliant!!!! Does anyone knoe the anme of the music use din this trailer??? It was also used in the play, it fitted with the play perfectly!
I think it might be from 'Sing Sing Sing' by Benny Goodman, but I'm not 100% sure - saw this play aswell, i thought it was amazing, some of the images were so stunning, loved the fires, the slow mo, the dances, Helen being trapped in that room at the top, Cassandra's crazy bits, all of it basically lol
I saw this, and I'd like to travel back in time to see it again and again and again, but it is difficult for me because I only live in the 21st century and we don't have time travel.
It looks so interesting. This tragedy is one of my favorites and I'd like to see a foreign presentation. I'd like to go and watch it but it is very difficult for me cause I'm from Greece.

I felt the acting was terrible and the voice work was even worse. The women scattered like terrified chicks every 2 minutes and the dancing was all out of time. The costumes and set were amazing but I'd rather the NT spent the money on hiring better actors and a longer rehearsal period than enormous sets and wizz-bangs.
Was a really amazing play. I was very glad I got to see it. I saw it a couple of weeks ago and it's still with me. Very powerful. I agree with another commenter, though, that I would have appreciated more of the original texts meter and lanuage. that is after all what defines the (anceint)greek language so much. But I also was blown away by the symbolism used in this play to such great effect.
it`s such an amazing play... I flew to London to see it and it was really great... the ending was a lil bit scary and I'm wondering if they always need a new door ;)
looks like an amazing play!! unfortunatly i'm across the pond so i will not have the pleasure of seeing what looks like a work of theatrical art. I will be able to give the video five stars though! lol
was a fukin brill paly luvd it....ws soo weird tho bt it realy showed dere emotions in different really cool ways ..wid da makeup showin dy ad pride stil n dancin n shit ..ws awsum!!!
Have just seen this - although some of the details are a bit sigh-worthy because their are so Mitchell typical - it was incredibly emotional and really brought out some of Euripides main themes of suffering, and the strength without power of the Trojan woman. Perhaps, though, it was a shame to cut out so much of the beautiful and more complex language from the original play, and rely almost entirely on visual symbolism?
Great!! I love you Kate Duchêne!!! <3 <3 <333
