The very reason that Justin Bieber et al. are sat atop of the pop music charts is because the cheesy corniness appeals to the masses, most poignantly children and tweens. This demographic accounts for much of the market. Once they grow out of cheesy generic nature of said genre, then they can understand the Paolo Nutinis of this world.

In summary: the charts are for kids, music like this is for adults. Just enjoy it.
