  • Haha "it's too cold!!!" So adorable. And then in the scene he has a jacket.

  • it's angelic & fluttery, comical...well, & just plain old beautiful. if i could just intravenously feed Sufjan's music into my veins, the days would flow like water

  • I wonder why you uploaded it when it is already on youtube oO

  • @IndependentPresident it wasn't when i did (3 years ago)

  • @eburn The real one from LaBlogotheque was uploaded on May 31st 2007 ;)

  • I guess I never realized how different his speaking voice is from his singing voice...wow

  • not as great as the original - the song is actually about Karen Parish from the Innocent Mission's inability to have children; she miscarried several with her husband, also in the band. The "laughing man" in question is Death. It seems absurd that a man is singing a song about a woman's personal experience with miscarriage. ???

  • @getshorty75 It's called he likes the song and obviously has respect for the band if he wants to cover it. So.. why not?

  • this version is ten times greater then the original. because sufjan is infallible

  • No one can cover a song quite like Sufjan Stevens. He really is amazing.

  • Awesome. Although it isn't nearly as great as the original.

  • rock on sufjan

  • Every single note of this song is absolutely gorgeous.

  • oh my god. no way!!!! this song is phenomenal....... wow... my heart just broke a little. this song is too pretty for words. if you havent heard the innocence mission, i highly recommend hearing it... its too good..

  • this is one of the most beautiful songs ever

especially since sufjan is doing it

    i wish he'd do a studio version

  • He's one of the greatest musicians. I heard he can play a lot of different instruments like this bangjo...(perfect, of course xd)

  • Sufjan is amazing

without his crative style the world would be a bad place.

And its funny how such a seemingly young and innocent voice comes from him. its rather amazing

  • that's beautiful.

  • Does anyone know what song he tried to play in the beginning?

  • "He Woke Me Up Again" from Seven Swans

  • Thanks :D

  • can anyone tell me what that song is playing at the end with the piano.

  • I think its Sufjan playing Majesty Snowbird

  • does anyone know what kind of banjo that is?? I love how he tapes all of his instruments up heh.

  • To me, it looks like a Gold Tone cripple creek or a maple classic open back with guitar style tuners. Gold Tone makes awesome and reasonably-priced banjos - I saw a cripple creek on sale for around $150 one time. I have a maple classic with planetary tuners and a resonator and I'm really happy with it.

  • cc-100, looks like.

  • I wish Sufjan would play on *my* roof!

    Though he'd probably fall off...

Props to you, SS, for making playing the banjo cool!

  • gran cancion, gran musico....

  • oh wow i loved that.

  • does anyone know the name of the piano track at the end?

  • Barn Owl, Night Killer by Sufjan Stevens

  • What about Barn Owl?

  • I love that he's just chillin. Playing on a roof in Ohio?

  • Hey cool! Sufjan's playing an Innocence Mission song.

  • thank you sufjan. Oh Canada!

  • Great clip and great Song! Never heard this one before

  • I really enjoyed that. I love the song. I love the banjo.

  • Yes, this song is beautiful.
