Also, I remember an article from the late 80's in which a mostly stock Banshee hit 100mph on a quarter mile track. It was either in Dirt Wheels magazine or 3 & 4 Wheel Action magazine, I can't remember.
The Banshee's motor came from a superbike, hence the reason why it is much stronger on top end than on the bottom end and off the line. The Tecates and 250Rs with their more broad powerband are going to normally be quicker off the line every time. On a short strip, the Banshee is at a disadvantage. The longer the track, however, and the odds get turned real fast in the Banshee's favor.
@motoracer109 Funny, cause I shit all over the 25+ some odd banshees whenever i'm out at gordons... Tecates are lighter by about 150lbs, have one of the most powerful 2 stroke engine of their era (before they decided to start snipping their balls off in 1988) and have a higher power/weight ratio, ontop of quicker gearing. Banshees can only win in the 1/4 mile where their higher topend speed kicks in from a higher topend gearing, but otherwise, Any Tecate will smoke a banshee off the line...
@motoracer109 Oh yeah, Tecates came with a 36hp motor for first gen, more HP for 2nd gen. The RZ350 engine produces 36hp stock, so take the same engine and put it in a lighter machine and you can see why the Tecate wins every time.

pretty easy to beat that banshee when you leave early maybe you should show some of the video when they both leave at the same time
