  • I remember Maria as Charlie Chaplin!

  • Can anyone get the one where Charlie Chaplin tries to get out from under the awning in the rain?

  • Gordon:(sneezing): ACHOO! ACHOO!

  • Hope The Audience Didn't Get Wet

Due To The Rainstorm That Charlie Brought In!

  • IT'S RAINING!!!!!!!

    3:35-3:57

  • Who Performed The Dinger In This Sketch?

  • Poor Dinger

  • Poor Gordon

  • Poor Charlie

  • Gordon:(shocked): UH-OH!!!!!! RAIN!!!!!!!

  • Why is Gordon calling Charlie Chaplin "our friend?" He probably should just say "Charlie Chaplin" instead of "our friend."

  • Boy, Gordon, you sure got a taste of your medicine (3:36)!

  • Look at the cloud at 2:53. It's not directly above "Charlie". So, naturally It was never planned to rain on that side anyway!

  • who else dies of laughter everytime he smashed the Dinger?? ROTFLMAOOOOOO

  • Do you have a video of an acrobat that slipped also at the banana peel? What episode number it is?

  • Why was Gordon smashong the dinger's head? lol

  • @sweetlife031 As a kid, I used to giggle whenever the Dinger was squished flat, & it STILL makes me laugh! LOL!

  • Gordon getting rained on--that reminds me. Does anyone have the five clips of Linda and Gordon: Rain, Wind, Snow, Disappear, and Pie? The clips are about sign language of the words. Pie was the only one that something happened on Linda.

  • @jokester1111 Gordon is better than Guy Smiley !!!??? WOOOOOOOW ! GUY SMILEY ROCKS!

  • Was Carroll Spinney the announcer?

  • @Lupton2000 the announcer was Martin P. Robinson

  • I have a guilty confession.

As a little girl, I had the biggest crush on Gordon.

Damn, he looked so good in that suit!

  • @ElectricShark MMM HMM!

  • The funniest part is watching what the Dinger does in the background. I lost it when Gordon smooshed him!

  • Gordon got his in the end! LOL. Memories. Chalie/ Maria decided "enough is enough!"

  • Yeah he did... but you know what would've made it funny. If Gordon had that PLANNED all along.

"If you said our friend is going to get wet?" AAAAAAAAN... "You are wrong."

Then it rains on him, the show ends, and he does the closure.

  • @DakariKingMykan yeah, but it wouldn't comply with his character.

  • @devanaire You can say that again!

  • @devanaire SWEET, SWEET REVENGE!!!!

  • Were there ever any other, "What happens next?" episodes?

  • I always believed that Charlie Chaplin was Linda.

  • Actually, Maria was the one who mostly played as Charlie Chaplin.

However, there was one skit where Linda was Charlie Chaplin with Maria. The skit was called "Me" where Maria was looking at herself in a mirror (the other Charlie Chaplin was Linda on the other side of the mirror) and turned and looked at the audience without talking, just lip voicing the "Me." Maria as Charlie Chaplin was dancing and jumping around in front of the mirror to see herself (Linda) doing the same thing too.

  • NOW who's all wet!

  • The song always made me laugh :) Dingers Ding Dong Bell HAHAH

  • I just love the silent actions of the Dinger. The way he counts the legs on the bench and that neat dance he does whenever Gordon sings. :)

  • I certainly remember this one. BTW, I think Gordon's song sounds kind of similar to "They Can't Take That Away from Me".

  • poor dinger.

  • Lol Gordon in his funny suit and Charlie Chapman is walking funny. lol lol

  • Maria-as-Chaplin was cool. Gordon shouldn't sing, though.

  • The announcer at the beginning sounds just like Shelley the Turtle.

  • Of course they sound alike. They're both performed by Martin P. Robinson.

  • Yes, I know. I was just observing how it's considerably rare that Martin uses that voice outside of Shelley.

  • The cloud used to scare me when I was younger.

  • HAHA, Gordon got owned at the end! Nice....

  • The mischievious grin on Gordon's face every time he squashes the Dinger is just too much for me! Love it, love it!

  • I wouldn't say that.

  • Oh, man I remember this skit! So funny! Thanks for uploading!

  • This is really funny.

  • I know this is mean but I just love when he squashes the dinger! It's so funny!

  • One of my favorite skits! Thanks for uploading! Ah, the childhood memories!

I love how he keeps squashing the poor dinger creature!

  • well 2 outta 3 ain't bad.

  • Hey, you can't always be right, now can you?

  • When Gordon rings the Dinger's bell it sounds more like a Honker.

  • I think the end vvas the payback for the vvay he vvas treating that poor Dinger all throughout the shovv!

  • Haven't seen this in ages.

  • Thanks alot for posting this I've been waiting for months for someone to post it Thanks again

  • I remember another "charlie Chaplin" clip teaching the word- hop, love to see that one!

  • There's another Chaplin clip I want to see, which, incidentally, also involves the newspaper. He's in front of a newsstand hoping to buy a paper, and in the process flirts with an eye-batting woman in a red cloak and gets water knocked from the roof onto his head by a street cleaner. That's as much of it as I remember. Anyone have it?

  • The conclusion was funny, but a bit disturbing too. I mean, it wasn't Gordon's fault that Maria- sorry, Charlie- was being so careless. He should learn to look before he leaps. He should have pushed the cloud in the opposite direction, so no one would get wet. But, like I said, it's still funny.

  • I'm with you! I thought the same thing during my childhood. In fact It was here on YouTube that I first looked closely during other old scenes and saw that it was Maria. Then I was like, "Whoa! So that's who played that character."

  • I didn't realize that it was a woman playing Charlie Chaplin when I was younger either. It was my mom who enlightened me. I wonder how she knew.

  • I wonder if Gorodn's gonna quit that show now.

  • I hope not. It's bad enough that we have that stupid elephant and worse part is that Jerry Nelson doesn't do too much with his SS muppets anymore and I miss Frank Oz.

  • I think he meant Gordon is going to quit "What Happens Next", not Sesame Street.

  • Well Frank Oz did disapear for a while but I did see his name in the cast list at the end of last year's season.

  • @jonnytbirdzback Yeah, Me 2

  • Thanks a lot for saving me trouble!
