@CalenCoffman On behalf of Reid I thank you very much Calen. Mahalo for acknowledging my student who has invested a lot of time & effort to get to where he's at now. Encouraging words from supportive people like you are sure to inspire Reid to keep plugging away at it. Thank you from me too.
@thumbstruck Much mahalos Kory. Bruddah Reid is a dedicated haumana fo' 2 years now.So far he wen learn. Dis one plus Opihi Moemoe, Ku'uipo Onaona, Ku'u Home O Kahalu'u, Ka Manu, Old Timer's Hula, Keoki's Ki ho'alu, Manini, Punahele & Kani Ki ho'alu. Not bad repertoire awredde no? Wit his drive he goin' get bettah garanz.
@abrigoohana Hey Lanet and yes it's so rewarding to see a haumana making strides. Great thing is that all my students are taught with the stipulation that they will share all the mana'o acquired from me with at least one other person somewhere down the line. Hopefully some will make it their kuleana as I have.
I love this because it shows that it is possible to play that song (it's on my list) and sound pretty darn good without having to channel the divine from on high like Ledward. Good work dude.
@Nelsonisms Glad you appreciate Reid's hard work in studying ki ho'alu with me. Yup all of slack key is digestible if you have the persistence. We can all learn a lot of ki ho'alu even without channeling a slack key virtuoso like Led. Good luck in your pursuit & know that I am forever a haumana(student) of ki ho'alu.
Great job, Reid! Your kumu taught you well. That bolo buggah can teach you a lot! He's got so much talent and aloha. Good rhythm going on the bass. Spot on! Hope to see you next time we come visit. Keep up the good work with my brother Duke!
Good Job! my friend. Just keep at it and you will get better, You have an awesome Kumu so take advantage of his teachings. I always learn alot from him too. See again soon,
@Kealohalaniinc1 Mahalo nui Hawaiian. Bruddah Reid is dedicated, he's gonna get there one day for sure.He making some big strides. Thanks for the kind words concerning me too.
