this was SUCH a good show. The BEST writing anywhere, hands down!!!
I get goosepimples whenever I watch it, it was so real. I was a baby, '64 surrounded by MUCH older siblings and lived this epoch through them being with them all the time while our parents BOTH worked. I was so crushed when the show was prematurely cancelled. This was an absolute crime!
Oh my, as young as I was back then I SOOOOOO remenber . Music was so EXCITEING in the 1950s and 60 s. I was born a music lover and it was amazeing to have music that really made you happy you were alive.
It's a shame as this show seems to take place between the "Happy Days" era and the Woodstock generation "Wonder Years". Another retro-themed show that was poorly planned was That '80s show, starting just 4 years after that '70s show began, along with a different cast.
Thanks for posting. It brought me back to my childhood. Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show is one of the top 4 or 5 memories I have of the early - mid sixties.
@llpowers it gives me chills, too man. I miss this show so much and it makes me wish was around during that time...even though I wouldn't trade my '90s childhood for anything, I would have loved to have experienced that time
You know I don't think see the characters just dancing to the original song wouldn't have been as affective. You do need them to sing and if they sing to the original song and you can barely hear it, it wouldn't have been worth the money for the song.
I was a sophmore in high school when AD started. it was appaointment tv. My mom, brother, sister, and I all watched and I got people in my school to watch this show. was so sad when it was canceled. I demand more seasons are released on DVD so we can finally have the complete series out
I was in the 7th grade (age 12) when they "arrived". This was not very long after JFK was killed. The excitement was everything they showed in this episode and then some. At the time, I didn't appreciate them, as I thought it was a silly girl thing. Little did I realize how important these guys would become during the next several years. They probably affected young people's attitudes and beliefs as much as anything but religion (despite what John had to say about it!)
This was actually my favorite episode when it first aired in 2003 I was twelve years old when the show came out. This song influenced me to be a Beatles fan. It also made Brittany Snow expand her acting career.
Even today it the music still makes us happy and reminds us what a great time we lived in.
How the world changed and sometimes with all the computers and cell phones it seems busy all the time.
Miss those days when life was better, simpler and my family only lived a few miles from each other now we live thousands of miles from each other and can barely find time to see each other.
Back then we had more time to know our community and each other and it was a great life.

llpowers,
Nobody has ever been, or will be "bigger" than Elvis Presley. The Beatles? It took four of them to even get into "shadow" of Elvis Presley. Remember: Elvis won contest with The Beatles and Pat Boone to be named KING OF ROCK AND ROLL.
the beatles are 5 times bigger than elvis presley!
the beatles have sold over 1billion records world wide! elvis presely has not even sold 300 million records world wide! so whos better? also the beatles and their music completely changed a generation. So F.Y.I the beatles are bigger than elvis preslely. =]
Your claim is incorrect. Elvis Presley has not been equalled, certainly not been surpassed in sales statistics. Even Ms. Carey who claimed 18 #1s cannot surpass Elvis Presley with at least 30 #1s. The Beatles have not sold more than a billion according to my research since receiving notice of your comment to me. Elvis Presley has sold more than a billion. So F.Y.I. The Beatles are not bigger than Elvis Presley and will never be.
By the way ..... during Elvis Presley era, a record for which both sides were #1 was counted only as one, rather than two as should have been and as is now; so, Elvis Presley actually has many more #1s that were not correctly counted, many.
Thank you, Sis
P.S. I first heard Elvis Presley sing on radio from Louisiana Hayride, before he was "known" and mother of an acquaintance for 40+years dated Elvis a few times. I am not just a "groupie."
Elvis's record sales were botched to make it look like he wasn't slipping under the radar because of the Beatles. When in fact he could never compete with them. He may very well be the king of rock n roll, but the Beatles have always been, and will always be bigger and better, period.
Stop meanness, please ..... AND ..... your data is incorrect, period. QUOTE from John Lennon "If there hadn't been an Elvis, there wouldn't have been the Beatles." QUOTE from John Lennon. No more argument, accept fact.
Never once did I state that either could be without the other, I was simply saying that both by record sales and influence, The Beatles are better. Which, if you were not aware, is fact.
Please tell me how my data is incorrect, you gave no data to prove otherwise.
Sales and Influence of Elvis Presley was and is greater than Beatles. I am aware because I have lived many decades, knew Elvis prior to his being "known." And, he dated relative of long-time acquaintance of mine. I do not have personal log of statistics BUT will send link to you of expert in the field, soon as I find it among my data. The person is impartial, writes only facts.
Does this person happen to work for the RIAA, if not I'm sure they do not have the proper data to prove any point whatsoever. But allow me to put this into perspective, from the year 2000 to 2009 The Beatles sold over 27 million albums and rank number 2 in the top 20 selling artist of this decade. Of course we still technically have about 6 months to go so the number may grow but rather insignificantly I'm sure. Elvis, on the other hand, does not even appear on this list.
