FYI punk is dead and emo isn't mainstream. Emo died out in the early 90's and was born out of the early 80's DC area hardcore punk scene. The shit people label as 'emo' today is not even close to being emo in anyway shape or form. And also, Danse Macabre is a Germany screamo band... they have likely never heard of the other Danse Macabre nor the 54854 other bands with that exact same name. Go fuck yourself.

There is only one form of emo... and emo as a genre no longer exists... emotive hardcore [true emo, i.e. bands such as Moss Icon, Indian Summer] is in fact a sub genre of punk.

I'm not a big screamo fan but I used to listen to Saetia and Neil Perry which are included in vol.1 and vol.4 respectfully, but 2 other bands I liked Angel Hair and You and I were also great bands. I'm not sure if either were included. If your just getting into this type of music those are 4 that I would recommend.

screamo is an annoying word. Just because a post hardcore band uses quiet to soft dynamics doesn't make them emo, btw. Envy is in no way shape or form a screamo band. Neil Perry either, really. BTW Envy puts on the most arresting, jaw-dropping live show I have EVER seen. No one moved a muscle, just stared in slackjawed disbelief. Best band here. Cool mix btw!

I can understand why you might not like this genre (too raw, abrasive, chaotic..etc) But to claim it is the worst genre is pretty unfair. A lot thought, and heart go into these songs, it's not like a few other genres where the music is made only for the soul purpose of making money off of a bullshit trend.

To me that would be far 'worse' than a genre I didn't like just because of my personal taste. At least with screamo the bands are only in it for the music and don't give a shit about fame.
