The urban legend goes that the deaths we meant to stick but the some of the audience went nuts so they changed the killer to Marlena & created Melaswen.
I loved this storyline. I know a lot of people hated it, but it's what made me start watching Days, and why I'm watching it to this day (even though it got really boring for several years). For me, these were my favorite years for the show.

Days of our lives has done some ridiculous and absurd things before, but this CONVOLUTED, PREPOSTEROUS plot about Andre kidnapping everyone, and somehow faking their deaths was the last straw. A cashier at the supermarket that I sometimes talked to also gave up on Days of our lives after all of this.

hahahaha! Best Deaths Ever!! lmao, they all make me laugh now. Back then though, they all horrified me but were soo intriguiging. The only ones I was sad abt the first time around were Jack's death and Caroline's death.
Remember this storyline. It was the last great storyline on Days before it all went crap, but what a storyline.!!
People murdered in imaginative ways, everybody were on the edge and the good sweet hearted Marlena turned out to be the killer. Best thing on Days for years really.!!

@jajceboy unfortunately we'll never know b/c Ken Corday bowed to outside forces and made JER create "Melaswen". I hated the Melaswen reveal....they shoulda left them all dead (except Alice maybe).
basekly, what i didn't really get during this storyline was how victor got on mewaswen. jan killed him, not the salem stalker(aka Marlana, controled by Tony(really andre))
Well, if I am remembering correct the local funeral director at the time was in on it and later killed himself when confronted. So that could atleast explain how Andre got posession of Victor's body. As for the actual killing, true it was not an illusion of the Salem Stalker, he was electrocuted in the tub by Jan. I suppose the assumed explanation is that the shock didnt actually kill him. Alot of loopholes with this story indeed.

I've Marlenas confession on youtube, but right know in the episodes in Sweden they're checking if she's obsessed again. She wasn't obsessed, right? But when they showed what will happen in the next episode we got to see the Devil through Marlena when she said "Hello Priest" to the priest that held a cross in front of her. ALL the "murders" were bloody/violent except for Alice's, she as requested hers basically not be violent/not shown out of respect for her DAYS obliged.

And when Marlena poisoned Tony all by herself, it looked like Tony hadn't planned it. Anyway, I loved this part of DOOL. Wonder what if Marlena really was the killer and the deaths were really real.

He says he was wearing metal, heavy-duty body armor when he was attacked and the scars he got were fake. Which was gross, peel off scars. The blood was chickens blood.
I don't get how what could have been one of the best s/l's in Daytime History turned out to be one of the worst. How could Tony have faked a tiget attack with all of those witnesses? It makes NO sense!
