I said that before and after ff makes good games but X will be it's peak in story emotion, feelings and romance. X makes you fall in love with the simple things in life, it makes you love everything you have and make you be thankful for the simple chance of being alive and with the people you love, X its and will always be.

Well, to me, it sounds sad because in FFX-2 it's mostly played in kinda sad moments. Plus, I like listening to that song whenever I feel sad. So that makes it sound sad to me, you know? (:
