Damn, how do you go so fast in the rain? During races in the rain (I usually use the Prost) I always get beat for speed down straights by every other car. It's only because the computer is so awful on corners that I'm able to go through overtake and build up a lead. It would be all right if Monsoon tyres worked during races, but every time I put them on, I'm immediately stuck in first gear and can hardly turn! They work in practice and qualifying just fine though.
@StormyAscent i'm not sure as I don't have a psx anymore, but i believe you should opt for the wet tyres when it rains, never monsoon.
Increase your wing if they weren't already at their maximum at monaco and try to be as smooth as you can (don't slide around !). Now what's your laptime in the rain ?
@StormyAscent additionally; soften up your suspension ! Do you hear that sound coming from the tyres when I exit the first corner and the car is all over the place ? THAT's the sound you want to avoid
@Milanotjuh I put the Wings to their maximum but the car goes ridiculously slow like that! I did a 1:22.8xx with Wet tyres, Suspension 5%, Front Downforce 15% and Rear Downforce 100%. However my maximum speed must have only been about 120 mph, which is pathetic compared to how fast you were going. And I was extremely smooth and hardly skidded at all. That was all in the Prost by the way.
1:18 is definitely achievable. Ferrari seems to be the best at Monaco.
@StormyAscent why dont you try putting 100%wing to the front and put only 15% wing at the rear ? I'm sorry I can't help you anymore than this, as I said, I don't have the game any more..
@Milanotjuh I shall do that! Thanks for your help. That's a shame, I recommend that you get an emulator, that's how I play the game. And you can set it up so that you can use a PS3 or XBox 360 controller too.
love this game! got it again last week. my best time on monaco gp so far is 1.09.989 but thats without tuning up the car. does that make a difference to your best lap times?
this is not even a full wet weather setup. I used my try set up and put some wet weather tires on the car. I reckon 1.18 is easily possible. Check out my 2nd and 3rd lap, its just about being as smooth as silk. thats the "secret"

it makes ALL the difference. just focus on the wings in the beginning, later fool around with the suspension and brakes.
my quickest is 1.05 it's also on youtube. I wish I could still play, my playstation has broken down..
