Well, it was 94' & a lot was different back than (plus the rave was in an airport hangar so yeah there was certainly enough room). Christ im getting old.
World Dance knew how to put the biggest and best parties on. Lydd airport was second to none and Wembley Arena was awesome! London Arena nye 95 was prob one of the best events held with the biggest staging and lighting used in the one arena and 11,000 people avin it!
If only i had a time machine i would go back to them days and do it all again. Big up all the World Dance Massive!!!
world dance was without doubt the best rave followed by dreamscape. then clubs was labrynth on friday orange at the rocket sat very many good nights 89 to 98

I remember these tunes, back in the day! Labyrinth in Dalston and Bagleys in Kings Cross where the two I remember, also Helter Skelter and Telepathy taking over an abandoned warehouse on Holloway Road, omg!!!
what can i say.. o my gosh.. this brings back memories.. the main hanger with sand on the floor.. dancing between that and the "chillout" tent.. happy dayz indeed.. =D
When i was 20 plus years old i loved the club scene...meet a 20 year old boy these days and their are rude boys, everyone these days thinks they are a combination of sean jay and chipmunk

All you backwards guys who only like dated Jungle stay away from DnB nights then, more free space for us to dance. And no, new DnB is not all Pendulum-like, you old farts.
well theres my 11 secs of fame fuck me im at 1:40-1:51 on me mate daans shoulders gotta agree with some comments the youngens these days really did miss out on the best era this is a real flashback i miss it sooooo much!
lucky you got 2 experience in pal, I was 7 years old and all I could have watched was the video.. wish I could have experience it that was the best era!!
no its not that the promotors dont have a clue its called the evolution, same as everything on this planet, dnb is changing and moving forward, its better now than it ever has been
Not sure what you mean, but Jungle started out of a 1991 sound really and seperated from the UK breakbeat scene in 1993.
Before it was a mix of Hardcore & Jungle, hence people called that sound 'Hardcore jungle'
You need to Listen to tracks Like 'We r E' and 'just for you London.
Hiphop breaks and acid bass is how jungle came about.
If somebody said to me 'When did jungle begin, I'd say early 1993. Before then, even though jungle tracks were about, it was all refered to as 'Hardcore' music.
lol not at all... It's difficult to explain what I mean here, but to see what I mean, using audacity, select "Generate Tone" then select sawtooth or square from the drop down menu, rather than the default sine. The tone it produces sounds terrible, it's more a buzz than a tone... The same frequency in sine sounds as it should...
Maybe there are good uses for sawtooth or ways of using it, but like i said, I'm no expert.. :P
From playing with Audacity, sound forge ect in the past making the odd lil' drum & bass tracks, anything i've tried to do in saw and square produces saw shaped and square shaped curves, which as the speaker drive unit tries to follow, in a saw shaped curve for example, it's being told to gradually push the drive unit out, then at the peak of the saw it's being told to get back in again, that produces a clicking sound, maskin the tone of the sound, sounds bad.
curves and waves are the same, just different words for the same thing. There are the three types that I'm aware of, saw, sine and square. But only sine are used for music, vocals etc.. Anything produced in saw or square sounds terrible... Not 100% but i'm almost sure no music is produced using those...
I'm no expert, I run GeekIMO, com so I'm quiet a techy person, but no expert on music production... :)
I was referring to the curvature of the waves. There are saw tooth, square and sine curves.
All music that I know of, uses sine curves, Saw curves or square sounds terrible and can damage speakers easily... Maybe we're talking about totally different things... :|
Come on if pendulem were let losse back then we would of loved it. it's not there fault the mainstream has gone after them. They do a good line in 'clown step' lol bit over the top some of it yes.
Fact is rave is a commodity now. It is a parody of itself sometimes. There is still; an underground scene, it's just alot smaller than in the late 80's early 90's
I hate the new "clown step" that everyone seems to think is drum & bass.. It's just moronic nonsense, sounds terrible. This real old school Jungle is some of the best i've heard.
I agree, The 'Melody' has gone from Jungle now days. It's just who can make string 6million saw waves together and make the most compressed snare you ever heard.
There's nothing new in the Jungle scene that's any good... It's dieing.. We need new artists capable of making new stuff... Jungle is dieing, yet there is so much more that can be done....
I'm sure most music is using sine curves, never heard a track in saw curves, but it'd be interesting.....
That used to be my scene! Nice looking back on the old days!

Bloody 'el that was quick. Yes I am talking about saw 'curves' then.
Is there a diff between 'waves' and 'curves ?
I'm not being picky btw, I'm genuinely interested, but not understanding what your saying.

The soul has gone :(

There's nothing new in the Jungle scene that's any good... It's dieing.. We need new artists capable of making new stuff... Jungle is dieing, yet there is so much more that can be done....
I'm sure most music is using sine curves, never heard a track in saw curves, but it'd be interesting.....
;)

not sure what you mean tbh, I was refering to the thick saw leads you get in a lot of techy jungle ?
