She began to go through manic-depressive periods at 13 following the death of her mother, which intensified upon the death of one of her half-sisters at 15. Then, in her mid-twenties, her father died. After each loss she fell into extreme bouts of depression that resurfaced throughout her career, accompanied by hallucinations. She also endured sexual abuse from two of her half-brothers as a child; it is disputed as to what extent that trauma affected her work and eventual suicide in 1941(?).
Just saw this at the Wimbledon Film Festival and love it. Deserved to win the animation prize - but I gave it my vote for the audience award, too. Where can I find more?
I love your video. It's wonderful and inspiring to imagine Virginia's future if she had just changed her mind. And I especially like imagining a world where "no one is afraid of Virginia Woolf."
I like this. I've also always wondered what else Virginia would have accomplished and what she would have made of the rest of the twentieth century if she had decided to live.
That was marvellous! Thank you for making this :)

It was her right to take the decision she took, it was a conscious decision. Nevertheless, entertaining animation;
