  • informative videos John and very very helpful ..

on this one you say .. .015 gap for most mg's up to the early mgB .. what about the '77 thru '80 B's .. ? should there be a different gap for these ?

  • Rule of 9 on a 4 banger.thats all i gotta say!

  • @youchewube BTW iam british!

  • Not only does John have an amazing technical undertanding and wealth of knowledge he's also makes it interesting and entertaining to watch. This guy ought to have his own TV show or something.

  • Hi, thanks for posting a great series of videos its been really usefull!

    Thankyou

  • I got an mgb,you make it look easy.I`ll get there soon :))

  • Thank you so much! Love the vids! You make owning a British car less painful.. You rule!

  • LASH LOOP ADJUSTMENT IS COOL

  • good video

  • very nice demo and to the point - would you elaborate a little ore on the drag of the feeler - i usually use a little oil on the feeler too.

  • This guy says to always adjust your valves with the engine hot. This contradicts every set of instructions I've read (usually says the engine needs to be stone cold!) Though he seems to know what he's doing, so which is correct??

  • different engines different setting. just make sure that the specs you use are for hot or cold engine. hot specs are usually smaller.

  • We know metal expands when hot so the size when hot is the actual. The Haynes manual indicates to adjust when hot as well.

  • 5:05 - "Should always adjust the valves hot. This engine hasn't run in 20 years so it isn't hot."

  • very good...thanks a bunch

  • Wow.....nice and easy method!

  • Really good.

  • As many engines as I've built (to include several A and B-series BMCs, and a couple of Triumphs), I never realized the relationship between opposing cam lobes.

You just made doing my Midget's valve adjustments much less of a chore! Thank you!

  • Awesome

  • Phenomenal! I look forward to seeing more videos as I will be applying this to my MGB GT too.

  • I just learned yesterday that these videos existed... thanks, John! Super!

    Cliff

  • Thanks John. I have read how to do this but there is no substitute for seeing it actually done correctly.

  • Very informative thanks for the video.
