  • Sesame Street had been showing disco sketches (as well as numerous other sketches from the 60s/70s) all the way into the late 80s. I guess they figured 5 & 6-year-olds don't have a sense of what's "modern" vs. "dated."

  • PEACE, MAN!!!!!!

  • GNARLY!!!!!

  • Where Are The Other Dancing Monsters When You Need Them?

  • This Is From The Late 70's!

  • Groovy!!!!

  • That song is hot...That bass is funky

  • @mreev HIP!

  • @cstoczyn Yes, yes

  • @mreev RIP Disco

  • I hate disco, myself. Anyone know who played the lead singer?

  • @jpeavler1975 Not Me

  • Innocent smoothies sent me here

  • This was in the Innocent Smoothies newsletter, prepare for a loooot more views in a very short space of time :)

  • I wish my toothbrush did this number for me in the morning

  • I love the old Sesame Street clips like this.

  • That was amazing.....Thanks for the Post

  • sesame street used to really jam back in the day. now its boring and plain. who the hell wants to watch half hr with ELMOS WORLD. thats no fun. i know its their 40th anniversary but it got so boring they may as well take off the air. its not fun to watch no more like it used to.

  • Looks like the same mirrorball/discoball pillara from "Honk Around The Clock" and "Rock Me(I'm A Baby). Btw- That monster is just too hairy, the human hair wig thingy is just too much, lol!

  • *pillar

  • This Is One Of My Favorate Songs , I Got Interested In This Song When I Was 12 Years Old , This Is One Of The Best Soul R&b Songs , Love Scott Orvik

  • I was born in 1978 and was watching sesame street in the 80's and didn't remember this one at first but now I faintly remember it. Thanks for sharing

  • I didn't remember this until I saw the floating teeth...those used to freak me out!

  • @Flower76 The floating teeth also appeared on the "Brush Brush Boogie" song. I remember when one of the floating teeth went "You use the brush to clean your teeth" and the other one went "The top ones and the ones beneth".

  • @BuddyBoy600alt Actually, This Set Of Teeth Is From The Employment Agency Sketch!

  • Lord have mercy, I haven't seen this in almost thirty years! I remember this like it was yesterday. Thank you!

  • this sounds like the pointer sisters that sang this song just as a guess?

  • And now the answer you've all been waiting for...the sponsors! They are L, R and 3.

  • disco was over by 83. it dide 4 yrs erlier

  • @kwvtads Thanks

  • I think I might remember this one vaguely, if this came out between 1975 and 1981 (my main Sesame Street

'viewing days.') The two 'disco-related' Sesame Street clips I remember most, though, are

'In/Out' and 'Disco D,' and these are already on YouTube (and have been for a while).

     Thanks for posting!

  • Well, since it's a disco, I'm guessing this Sesame segment first appeared in the tenth season (1978-79)

  • I guess teeth finally found a job workin' at the disco.

  • WOW! I never knew that this was made before.Great Song too! Thanks for posting.

  • ..Just when you though you've seen nearly all of them.

  • By the way, what are the sponsors for this episode?

  • I never seen this one before, but i love the music, and i think i saw this when i was young cause it was to tell kids to brush thier teeth. but thanks for the memories

  • Now this is a RARE one. I thought I remembered every Disco segment from this period... but this one is new to me.

  • What sketches are shown in this Sesame Street episode besides this clip?

  • This is from the episode where Forgetful Jones forgets the name of the show he's on (that's *really* bad!) Anyway, to answer your question, there's an Ernie sketch where there's a mailman trying to deliver a letter to Mr. Abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz, and another one where Ernie bugs Bert, who is trying to go to sleep, and some others, but apparently Disco Toothbrush is the rarest one.

  • Please post the mailman sketch! That's another rare one.

  • Would you mind posting the one where Ernie bugs Bert, who is trying to sleep?

  • I'd definitely like to see that too.

  • @kwvtads MMM HMM

  • @Deanmo23 IDK
