The phrase "Roman Catholic" is a 19th century British coinage used to differenciate the Anglican Communion from the Roman Church (Catholic Church) and the Orthodox. The British argued that there were three "branches" of the One Church of Christ. Catholics don't believe there are three "branches"; just one.
Actually, Roman Catholic is used to differentiate the Roman rite from other rites of the Church. There is one Catholic Church and nineteen rites, the larges of which is the Roman rite.

Wow! The first, peaceful part is psalm 23 "The Lord is my shepherd". The second, loud part is Psalm 2 "Why do the heathen rage?" In the third part the two melodies run together - the peace of the Lord prevails despite all the raging. Jesus willingly surrendered himself to the cross out of love for humankind, regardless of politics. The ultimate aim of being a Christian is to become like Christ and I believe all we Christians will be judged on the extent to which we've done that.

du hast soweit recht, dass jeder glauben kann, was er will. ich glaube ja auch daran, dass die menschen mal schlau genug sind, die religiösen schmarotzer der scharlatanerie zu überführen. ich und viele andere tun es bereits. einige menschen sind jedoch zu einem selbstbestimmten leben nicht fähig. dass die dummheit dann öffentlich ein mitspracherecht für gesellschaftliche normen sich anmaßt, ist einfach absurd und gehört strafrechtlich verfolgt. deshalb muss es auch kommuniziert werden.

ich glaube daran, dass sich immer wieder Menschen von Neuem und ganz freiwillig und selbstbestimmt zur katholischen Kirche bekennen. Du weißt sicherlich, dass sich unsere abendländische Grundordnung und ihr Menschenbild auf drei wesentliche Säulen stützt: die (römisch-griechische) Antike, die Aufklärung und nicht zuletzt das Christentum. Deshalb ist es nicht nur Recht, sondern sogar Aufgabe der Kirche, zu gesellschaftlichen Themen Stellung zu beziehen.

There was an assassination plot against Pope Pius XII, who was protecting over 1,000 Jews within the walls of tiny Vatican City. What's up folks. I have a Masters Degree in Theology from a Catholic Seminary. Just so you know: it's not "Roman Catholic." It's properly called "Catholic." The phrase "Roman Catholic" is a 19th century British coinage used to differenciate the Anglican Communion from the Roman Church (Catholic Church) and the Orthodox. The British argued that there were three "branches" of the One Church of Christ. Catholics don't believe there are three "branches"; just one.

Actually, Roman Catholic is used to differentiate the Roman rite from other rites of the Church. There is one Catholic Church and nineteen rites, the larges of which is the Roman rite.

First of all your contempt for God's Vicar, the Pope of Rome, betrays your basic mistrust and hatred for the Roman Catholic Faith, the Holy See of Saint Peter granted to him by Christ Himself. What is horrifying, in my eyes, are the scores of videos on You tube that denounce The Church, its leadership and its doctrine.
American Catholics make up less than 10% of world Catholics, yet are riddled with problems of faith and morality more than any other Catholic society. This is a reflection of the greater American population, not an inherant "Catholic" flaw. Yet- and especially here on You Tube- I am constantly confronted with contempt for my faith.
That, "diavolo", is horrifying.

Research the personal history of Pope Benedict, one need'nt be Catholic to appreciate the endeavors that guided the hand which led him to Papal ascension.

First, happy Christmas. Secondly, if you are a Christian, I appeal to you to look at the writings of early christians. You will see that they broadly espoused what today we call the Catholic faith. The Church that Christ founded upon the rock solid foundation of Peter, is the Catholic church against which the gates of hell shall not prevail.

That very "rock" is Christ in which the Christian church is founded. The Roman Catholic Religion is built on quick sand and is crumbling at this very moment. In Ireland it has no longer power over state, new devotions are down to almost nil, real estate is being sold off to pay off mounting debts. It used to be a great privilege to have a priest in a family, now its just an embarrassment because of all the paedophile cases.

Just to correct you on one point. If you care to put your anti-Catholic bias aside, the "rock" is named in Matthew's Gospel as Peter (Cephas) which actually means rock. The Lord said: I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter (Greek, Petros) and upon this rock (Greek, petra) I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 16:15-19)

Do your history! Protestants broke from the Catholic church. The Cahtolic Church was once the one Christ believing church, the people left it for no good reason. There were than Catholic Christians, Othodox Christians, and Protestant Christians. The name Christian means to believe in Christ, and Catholics believe in Christ. So there.

Wow! The first, peaceful part is psalm 23 "The Lord is my shepherd". The second, loud part is Psalm 2 "Why do the heathen rage?" In the third part the two melodies run together - the peace of the Lord prevails despite all the raging. Jesus willingly surrendered himself to the cross out of love for humankind, regardless of politics. The ultimate aim of being a Christian is to become like Christ and I believe all we Christians will be judged on the extent to which we've done that.
