the beautiful site of humanity, people want to feed him for a year blah blah blah. The guy has been homless for years so where was the helping hand then .THERE WAS NONE,the guy has done anything he could to survive on the streets, while all these people who are now offering help walked on by without a second thought. They care more about a piece of cloth with a certain pattern, than there fellow man.
@SilverSussies METI Inc. at first refused to take donations for Gustus until they could a arrange a way to keep the funds safe. According to the video below, a fund has now been set-up. For details contact METI Inc. at 915-772-4975 or KFOX14 at 915-833-8585.
@Xenorator You didn't bother to follow the link provided in the description, OR do your own research before you went and made this political, now did you? "The owner of the flag is METI Inc., a federal contracting company. According to their spokesperson, METI has had a "heart warming" response to the story, with offers to help with donations. KFOX is also working with an agency to provide aid." And ABC (MSM) did a study and found Republicans give 30 % more to charities.

Once again conservatives are trying to capitalise on other people's acts and pretending to "own" the word patriotic. Probably having been made uncomfortable at the true sight of it rather than just buying cheap stickers from wall mart.
Of course other times, when it comes to actually helping the homeless then they are just "parasites" who "don't get a job because they don't want to".
I don't remember when we tried to "capitalize" on his actions. When did we do that? This video certainly doesn't show it. I thought we were trying to give him nation-wide attention for his great deed. Also, we SHOULD own the word because we conservatives are a helluva lot more patriotic than you pussy liberals. Lastly, we don't think homeless are parasites. We're just tired of giving welfare to people who don't give a shit and dont try to find work. Get the fuck outta here, douche.
@ HigherPlanes I found the story on a blog I read. I doubt it will get much coverage, certainly not on our Main Stream Media, they are far too busy being cheerleaders and being complicit in Obama's radical socialistic transformation of America. I've never been to Canada, but I hope to travel there someday.
@ HigherPlanes Thanks for the reply. The story should translate across Borders, so I'm glad you can see why it touches me so. I can't imagine what it is like to be homeless; if things keep going the way they are, many of us might get the opportunity to experience it. For this man to have so much love for his Country, to respect the Flag so much brings tears to me. I think it's a wonderful story amid all the horrors and tragedies that fill the news today. Precisely why I posted it.
@HigherPlanes If you don't get a lump in your throat seeing this story, you obviously don't love America very much. What's your idea of a story that makes your heart swell with Pride?
@fab4bear Well, I understand why this story would make a certain person's heart swell with pride, however, I wasn't born and raised in the USA, so I can't say that I share that pride and patriotism.
But my comment was regarding to the caliber of stories that makes front page news nowadays. We have mayhem in Toronto, war in the middle east, an oil spill in the Gulf, and some old man gets attention for folding an American flag? But seriously, what do American's have to be proud for nowadays?
@HigherPlanes whats more ridiculous ........If you think about it.....This guy is more qualified to be President than Obama..........I mean ...unlike Obama........this guy has great love for his country, plus he was actually born in the U.S.A.!
@talllikelurchis you had me until the " orgin of birth " thing while i believe that it's very likely that the president was not born in the united states, and yes .. a direct violation of the constitution, there's so many many many ways he's screwing things up that even that becomes a technicality in the case for him being such an awful president. come to think about it .. i guess what i'm trying to say is that he's so bad that lying about his birthplace seems minimal, and that is scary.
