@tdawg598 We have NEVER broken a Flats Blue rod fighting a fish. We have broken plenty of rods in hotel room doors, truck beds, and DICK's stores. The rods are custom rods with fast action tips. They can break.

me and my buddy decided that we want to go out on his buddy for 2 days around the keys. (we live in Naples ,FL) we want to go for dolphin and sailfish mainly, but we haven't done any real dolphin fishing before (other than a charter) any reccomendations or tips for dolphin fishing. Were not really sure how far out we should be going.

What is the best sea fishing reel for small to mid size fish (snapper, barracuda, permit). Fishing from cliff, shoreline, pier, boat, etc. I am a complete beginner, so don't laugh :)
