There's a reason the traditional verse/chorus structure has endured/is popular, and it's not because we've been "brainwashed" into thinking it works; it works because it works. I'm all for fucking around with traditional structures, but there's nothing wrong with wanting to listen something catchy that meets you halfway. Really, a FANTASTIC catchy tune is harder to write than I imagine this song was.

That said, I like this song a lot.

There's so much more out there than "fantastic catchiness" and a song's difficulty in being written has no bearing on its artistic substance.
