  • omg I so wanna play this game now. lol

  • fantastic . the way ran through all the bosses was great. facing that gunman willy is like facing shin akuma in street fighter but you kicked his ass with ease man.

  • this is when i play 24 hours straight at the HARDEST levels. the song plays with my head, i get hungry, the game needs cooling, and i dont want a fuckin cheat code...... i like to mention myself as a nintendo wizard.

  • Apparently, the backstory is this is a post-apocalyptic world, and the girl isn't just a girlfriend, but a fellow Master in the martial art they practice!

  • Willy was harder to beat than Jimmy.

  • lol this music is craaaaaaaaaaaaaazy

  • The mission 4's music is INSANE!

  • Nice job! I always got killed by the machine gun guy, thanks for posting this so I could see the ending, which I thought was unspeakably lame...

Remember the 'Abobo Wall"? You should post that if you already haven't...For some reason, I always got hung up there :(

  • I always got killed by the machine gun-guy, thanks, now I know how the game ends...

  • Willy's the pussiest boss in the history of gaming. How do you get beat to death while holding a machine gun?

  • @tyrehoward

Ask Mr. X from SoR good sir!

  • Awesome. Congratulations. Classic game. Hail Double Dragon.

  • 1:38 poor Abobo, he planned that grand entrance all day and got dissed.

  • @retrostatic I remember staying and fighting him once and got the shit kicked outta me. LoL

  • I did it! I finally beat this game! This video helped a ton with strategy for Willie and Jimmy. Phew, I beat Jimmy with 1 bar of health left. I just wish I knew a guaranteed strategy for passing the blocks at the beginning of mission 4.

  • @wanderingdirac If you wait for the block that is level with your head to come out twice (not two consecutive times, just two times from the beginning of seeing them pop out), and then run like hell, you'll pass the wall without getting hit.

  • 50,000! You scored 50,000 points on Double Dragon?

  • Well, you certainly made short work of The Down's Syndrom Twins at the top of the rock climb.

  • @pinkypimpalicous LMAOOOOOOOO

  • @ALSTONPOWERS thats what I always called them lol it looked pretty obvious to me. I had funny names for all of the enemies. Except for Willy, he was a badass.

  • @pinkypimpalicous perfect name for them, couldnt stop laughing

  • @ALSTONPOWERS lol remember it and use it with pride and much hilarity.

  • @pinkypimpalicous will do

  • the music kicks serious ass , well in the beginning and the end.... i feel indestructible when i hear it

  • I love the ending song! You can fit "God Bless the USA" into the tune!

  • there was a glitch on the platform jumping section where if you landed on the platform with the bad guy williams, the game reset itself!

  • Wow u scored 50000 in drouble dragon??? Amazing

  • @ultragarrison lmao! the Wizard!

  • @ultragarrison I see what you did there.

  • @ultragarrison no he scored 58,660

  • @hippie6996 The score's not important anyways as you can get an infinite number of points of you want in Mission 3 by going in and out of the door by the dynamite throwing Wills in the cave.

  • As a kid, I made it to the 3:00 part of this video before I had to take it back to the rental store. I always wanted to see how this game ended. Thanks!!

  • memories....

  • the level design compared to the sequels was just astounding. The little heart was so cute.

  • que de souvenir

  • Comment removed

  • Jimmy was just jealous of Billy's savage tan.

  • lol at the 2:22 mark

  • By the way, when going across both walls it's a good idea to jump like seen in the video because sometimes the lower brick manages to come out at you in that section of both walls. I"ve managed to beat this game at least 25 times now only once though without losing a guy, took me about 2 hours to figure the game out. Yet, those icicles sometimes get me and the machine gun guy too even when I trap him UGH.

  • That's probably the most difficult part of the game if you don't know what you're doing. This game happens to be my favorite NES game. The way to get by the wall consistently is by waiting for the 2nd brick from the top in the very first row to come out 3 times....after it comes out 3 times then walk across to the next wall. The way to get by the next wall is to wait for the very same brick to come out 1 time and then walk across. To see an example of this, just watch the video again :)

  • I don't see how to get by the wall consistently. Even if I go by the pattern 1 (highest), 3, 2 like in your video.

  • damn never could beat mission 3

  • I only managed to beat this game one time-never beat it w/o dying though. Only took probably 5,000 tries over the course of fifteen years....

  • I keep getting knocked out by the fuckign WALL D:

  • Played this game like crazy when I was a kid. Only ever beaten it once but that moment was gold.

Love the 'retard kick' you get when you have max heart level xD, it gets ducked out too much.

  • Nice, they had her trapped in a cave in the middle of nowhere with spikes, blocks that pop out at you, but where she was captive, bed, couch, coffee table, potted plant complete with a kitty! LOL. Why did she want to be rescued again? I like how Jimmy's red vest is hanging on a coat hanger, LOL, so that was HIS room.

  • I thought that was Billy's house that Marion was inside of at the end.

  • @gr8latino

It's probably Willie's sleeping quarters, considering it's his base, and he walks out of it's doorway to fight Billy.

  • @gr8latino

    I didn't notice that vest. :p

I always thought this room was strange. It wasn't in the arcade. Except for the cat, I guess. :/

  • I found that, if you wait for the first brick on the top row to push out twice, doesn't have to be consecutively, and running it the the next bricked wall the chances of getting hit are really slim. Basically the same for the second wall, except you wait for either the top rows first brick or the second rows first brick to push out twice then leg it.

This works for me on my NES, idk about emulators.

  • Very nice!

im about to turn on my wii to ser if i can beat this game now that i know how to get through it.

    5 stars, good vid!

  • Someone please tell me the technique for getting past the wall at the beginning of level four. I usually die there at least once.

  • This game is the ONLY reason I still have my NES

  • The best of Double Dragon is there are parts of the game where you can just walk away from some villains instead of fighting them.

  • I remember seeing my older brother end the game and I was like damn that takes brothers fighting over the same girl to new level.

  • I Never realized how gangster this game is. I forgot you can beat them while they are down.

  • he threw chin right down a hole :)

  • So that's how you get past the wall? Wait for the "Head level" ones to go by?

  • its funny how you wait by the door and jumpkick them when they walk out

  • man this game brings back soooooo many damn memories.

and you can't beat the music, but I do have to admiT, it does sound like Dragonforce TTFAF

  • Yeah thought it was his brother.

  • LMAO at 1:38!

    "f*ck that"

    *runs away*

And it doesn't look like the girlfriend was in such bad shape after all! After all that fighting you find her sleeping on a bed in a nicely furnished room with a kitten for company. Looks like he came just in time, haha.

  • Jimmy was in love with her too, Double dragon was based of Fist of the north star

  • harmanies ? U DUMB

  • dragonforce does use some double dragon harmanies in there songs...fershure!~:)

  • I was a little better at the arcade version, but this game still owns!

  • I can always make it past the first 3 levels flawlessly, but that wall always eats me up, and i'm not always prepared for that knife that the first chin throws. The last room is no cakewalk either.

  • Do you know if there's any technique to get past the wall at the beginning of level four or is it just luck?

  • i think there's a pattern of some sort, but i haven't quite figured it out yet

  • I've been looking for a pattern too. I tried to wait for the top block, like in the video, and I've managed to get through more often without dying.
