  • I LOVE YOU GROVER!!!1

and this is actually what it feels like for rme when i have panic attacks...wowzers LOL.

  • I've had panic attacks too, thankfully no more. Grover is one of my fave Muppets and this video is great.

  • "In between my legs, In between my legs, In between my legs, In between my legs, la-la-la-la-la,In between my legs," XD

  • Great job, Grover

  • Ok I thought this was cute and Ive had panic attacks. Have always liked grover. Also appreciate the note of panic attacks not being funny and not making fun of them

  • had to mute it at 3:20 so my family won't think I'm watching porn.

  • Anyone try this cure for Panic Attacks? Anyone try the Panic Away System - ** badanxiety . info

  • i really experience panic disorder, and if it was humanly possible to do all 9 steps at once for 2-4 hours straight then it would be the tip of the iceberg to how a real attack feels. what about the 10th step? the impending fear of death and dying? dont get me wrong, the video was funny as hell, but it sux to ACTUALLY experience this naturally. teese attacks are why i am now suffering from agoraphobia.

  • Hehe... funny.

You forgot to mention that these 9 methods should be done simultaneously to mimic a real panic attack.

  • ha ha ha this is hillarious ! :)

  • Can you spin while standing up opposed to spinning in a chair?

  • Does anybody seriously get a sense of unreality from staring at themselves in a mirror for 2 minutes ? I am genuinely curious. I didn't get any effect after 8 minutes. Gave up.

  • Yes. It's nothing like a hallucination or something really bizarre like in the video. Maybe I'm just weird, but sometimes after staring at myself in the mirror, even for brief periods of time, I become almost unfamiliar with my own face. It's like I don't recognize myself or the concept of my person or something.

  • I find that fascinating. I certainly didn't experience anything like it. I think I will try that experiment again.

  • @Robotocracy hey you should add me i ave the same problem but ave never been able to figure out why it happens its almost like i forget who i am

  • @Robotocracy im the same way almost like u forget who u r kinda

  • Very accurate haha

  • Umm can you do the spinning thing without a chair? And do you have to do this all within a short amount of time? About how long would you say?

  • Honestly, I wonder what Frank Oz would think if he ever saw your Grover films - I cried with laughter through every scene! XD XD XD

  • I get extra credit in my psych class for writing these steps down. Whoo.

  • great lol

  • i thought that was like the funneist thing i have seen in like a month i loved it!!!

  • Its not suppose to

    i watched this in Health

and the title is all wrong

    its showing you how

people suffer from a panic attack

  • What was that music during the mirror part?

  • It was playing Dance of the Swans until the distortions were seen. The music that happened when his face got all weird looking was just a couple generic suspense accents that I found in iMovie!

  • This video is awesome!

  • Thank you!

  • ahahaha panic attacks that last for about an hour, and they are horrible. its terrible going through it and feeling like ur going crazy, but this video really made my day lol. thank yoouuuu!!

  • This is fantastic. I work as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and this is just brilliant.

  • Thank you!

  • oh!

    ha! thats cool

  • hmm..

    i dont understand

ppl usually tell me 2 do opposite of this stuff. it probly explains in the video but my puter dont hav sound

    j/w?

  • The purpose was to give people who don't suffer from panic disorder an idea of what it's like!

  • thanks so much.

  • LOL when grover stared st himself in the mirror for two minutes was funny! dude, that part cracked me up. U ROCK.

  • Well thanks!

  • lol

  • lol

  • Oh this is fabulous!! Panic and Generalized anxiety have ripped me to shreds over years. This is a great approach... almost like reverse psychology to use panic attack simulation. I think I will make a habit of doing this or something very similar daily. Just to remind me of the true nature of panic. Thanks much for the post.

  • No problem, good luck!

  • I have a pannic dissorder and this made me laugh.

  • I'm sorry about the disorder but I'm glad this entertained you. :)

  • I have serious panic and anxiety, and being able to laugh about it while I nodded at everything in this video was awesome.

  • Ah I'm glad you enjoyed it, thank you

  • I'm a Psychology student and even though this video is a bit unorthodox, its methodology is unequivocally correct from a psychotherapeutic point of view. It's called cogntive behavior therapy. The only way to end panic attacks is to ask the patient to mimic its most common symptoms as much as possible, until the patient is no longer afraid of the physical symptoms brought on by the attacks. Repetition for a period of 3-4 weeks or longer is the key.

  • Ah, yes! Psychology was my minor! That sounds pretty familiar!

  • Love it !!!

  • lol funny but realy soks to leave throw it :(

  • Yes it does, there's nothing funny about that.

  • not funny, its very serious

  • Nope, not funny at all!

  • not very funny at all, but it does make me feel better about my problem... made me laugh about it!

  • Thank you for posting this. Its been my grim little problem for three years - it was a joy to laugh about it.

  • I love this video. I think my favorite part is where he stares in the mirror. I, like many of the people who have commented, suffer from panic attacks and I found this a great way to feel a little better about it all.

  • For someone who's been living a nightmare straight from hell. It's good to poke fun at it

  • Oh man, that was hilarious. I've suffered from panic disorder for years and am just starting to recover. It's nice to be able to laugh about it for a moment.

  • how did u recover from panic attacks??

  • You have talent..... great video, made me laugh, thanks

  • I've had panic attacks for years and still get them nearly every day at least 6 times... although half the time i barely notice them, because I've learned how to calm myself very quickly.

  • I'm glad you've adapted to them so well!

  • So am I. lol. But it took 8 years and 6 psycologists to get me to this point. 0_o

  • Nothing's ever easy

  • nope... Apparently not.

  • this makes me feel like an immature idiot. doesn't really help.

  • Okay...when i panic i don't think of nothing but whats going down i can't say its okay...its hard cuz i dont think how i'ma get out it it

  • Found this hilarious!

    I have panic attacks too

  • this is hilarious but also educational, it helps ppl see how others live thier lives.

  • i got bad aniexty attacks i get em mostly everyday..scary shit but i leanerd to calm my self down..but still very scary lol

  • i had a panic attack early this year i felt like i was dying by the time i got to the medical center i was feeling better

  • Yeah I know they're horrible, I don't have them but someone very close to me does so I know what it looks like. I'm sorry! :(

  • that was fantastic! thank you.

    ( i bruise like a peach! )

  • Perfection! That was the best video I've seen about panic yet.

  • wen he was "hyperventalating" sounded like he was barking haha

    was a great video lol

    i liked it XD

  • The mirror bit was hillarious. Great job.

  • grover lol. anyone suffering from panic attacks (i do) - read "LIVING WITH IT" by BEV AITKEN - it is amazingly helpful

  • Nice job whoever did Grover. I was literally laughing my ass off everytime Grover screamed!

  • Thanks, that'd be me.

  • Oh wow this is amazing! I'm so glad that your cousin got an A. She deserved it! :) I was almost expecting to be annoyed by this but it's great. I have Panic disorder and whoever said it sounds fun is wrong. No words can accurately describe the terror of panic attacks. It doesn't get more terrifying than that. Seriously you do not want this! Sorry, rant over.

I think this vid. has dealt with a tough subject in a brilliant and hilarious way. great job.

  • your righht it feels like your dying

  • hahha i bruise like a peach!

  • this is so funny i have sufferd 4 years i know now not to take panic attacks so seriously anymore thank u u made me laugh

  • Thanks to this video, I'll never be able to have another panic attack without thinking of Grover, which is an entirely good thing from my point of view! Great job- this is really informative and entertaining.

  • There's finally a way to show people how I feel on each panic attack I have been having since I was 10 (I'm 22 now).

And I must say, at first I wasn't happy to see the subject portrayed as funny, but there is no way to not laugh on the innocent and comical way it's presented. YouTube should be made of more useful videos like this one, a video that makes lives lighter.

Thanks for giving me this experience and comfort.

Much cheers, from a Brazilian friend.

  • Yes, I know from experience that there's nothing humorous about panic attacks. I'm really glad that people don't seem to take this the wrong way and think it's meant to make fun of the subject. Seriously, my heart goes out to folks with panic disorder.

  • This is freaking fantastic, now I have something to send to people when(if) I decide to tell them about my panic disorder. I hope your cousin got an A for this!

  • Oh, she did. :)

  • cute

  • this is the most excellent video. Btw I tried all and I feel an intense amount of adrenaline in my system

  • Please be careful!

  • I loved this video!!!!

  • i like it when Grover explains things :)

  • the trick is to do all that at once. fast for 2 days while playing counterstrike, then hyperventilage while doing cardio lying down, then stand up really fast and spin around while staring at yourself in a hand held mirror under 10 fluroscent lights with a white noise maching blaring at 140 dB.

  • I think if you spin around in a circle for 2 mins while staring at yourself in a hand-held mirror & having a wah-pedal affecting your hearing at the same time would pretty accurately describe my panic attacks!

I really enjoyed that! Thanks :)

  • oh and don't forget that, at the same time, someone has just screamed "run! a vicious tiger is coming this way!" :0) damn panic attacks...

  • Serrious issue I agree, but I love how puppets make everyting hillarious! Way to go Grover :D

  • lmfao

  • "Careful I bruise like a peach" Hehe!

  • AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!

  • what is a panic attack? =) I've never had one before, it sounds fun.

  • FUN?!!!!!!! They're bloody terrifying!!!!!!!!!

  • That WAS a bit scary.

  • I'm a psychotherapist who specializes in treating panic disorder and agoraphobia, and I'm going to start asking my patients to view this video. You did a good job of bringing humor to a situation that's really difficult for people.

  • had my first panic attack yesterday :(

  • I'm sorry

  • Brilliant, educational, and humorous. It brings a lighter side to the apprehension that feeds anxiety. Well done. :)

  • step 10 - strip naked and walk through the mall, because when having all 9 steps simultaneously, your next worry is that everyone can see you are having a panic attack.

  • Intensifying everything all over again!

    Grrrr..It's a vicious circle :)

  • Ha ha, I totally agree.

  • that is surely funny! Iguess I should try that so that the next time I have a panic attack I can make my self think it;s funny instead of scary!

  • Ha, Ha, actually it's ten . Don't forget that overwhelming sense of doom, or that something really shitty is going to happen to you at any given moment. I especially hate having them in my car at intersections.

  • That would definitely suck.

  • lol, it's so true!

  • Good video. Entertaining and educational. I don't have panic attacks, but I do have anxiety+depression, which probably feel like watered down panic attack, but with terrible exhaustion.

  • Haha lmao

  • Hi, I had my first bonnafide panic attack yesterday and ended up in the ER. I came down, but they wanted to keep me over night, but I split because, who the hell wants to be in a hopital over night. I loved this video and sent it to my husband who I'm sure has no clue what it felt like. Thank you!

  • I'm very glad you got through it, I know panic attacks are serious and not to be made fun of! :)

  • Yeah, not funny at all, but at least your video was, funny, that is.

  • WOW...thank you for posting this vid...HAHAHA...seriously..i mean its one thing to have to suffer from them...but to see how funny it is to simulate one...Hilarious...

p.s my favorite is number 8! now everytime i think im gunna have one im just gunna think of this vid and laugh my ass off...hehehe

  • XD

I really love that Grover puppet BTW... I better look for my own, lol!

  • funny

  • omg funny i suffer from panic attacks and seeing that just made me laff! next time i get one i will just fink of lil Grover!

  • lol vey good:)

  • Haha

If i was your cousins teacher i would've given him an A :D

  • I LOVE it im a panic attack suffer and i agree wit wesleyan9 i will have a hard time not to laugh during my next episode thank u so much for the video

  • I have panic attacks and agoraphobia, and the next time I'm doing interoceptive exposures (i.e., the things Grover does here) I'll have a hard time not laughing...which is a good thing!

  • AWSOME!!! NICE JOB!!!

  • very nice

  • oh my g-d! You got a Grover pupppet for your imitaions. This is absolutely hysterical! I love the part where Grover starts singing "In between my legs"

And I love the background music!

  • Thanks, yeah I found it at a local puppet shop and got it for my cousin for Christmas because she loves Grover.

  • cute.
