it doesnt matter who trained who Eyal is a master and is constantly developing krav maga, he is an exceptional teacher and his knowledge is second to none. i trained with him only for 10 days but the way he teaches helped me loads with my krav maga.respect for anyone who devotes their lives to krav maga. all these arguments over who was closest to imi are pointless. all of those guys devoted themselves to krav maga and have gone their seperate ways but still know more than all of us put together
Imi awarded Haim with an 8th degree black belt before he passed away. There's plenty of room for all of them and no one true heir. Darren should feel like he's got egg on his hideous face for trying to trademark the words "Krav Maga" in the US. He has no ownership rights to those words simply b/c Imi gave him a certificate. Darren helped to cause an unnecessary rift in the Krav Maga community when he pulled that crap.
in my opinion eyal here and darren levine are the true heirs to the throne for krav maga as only they got a certificate from the founder of krav maga imi lichtenfeld so in my opinion they knew him, and he knew them and he trusted them and obviously knew their skills were good enough and rewarded them with a certificate, and only those two got one, which im my mind makes them two the heads of krav maga now imi is gone
I don't think the certificate makes them anything special in relation to other students of Imi. No doubt Eyal Yanilov is a Krav Maga master, and I have tremendous respect for him. I always enjoy seeing the man in action and listening to his instruction.
I also have a great deal of respect for the Krav Maga skills and business acumen of Darren Levine (even though he is one of the most hideous human beings I've ever laid eyes on). Without Darren there wouldn't be a Krav Maga Worldwide in my city and I wouldn't have the opportunity to learn this amazing hand to hand combat system. But Haim Gidon and others in the IKMA who studied under Imi have just as much right and claim to the "throne" of Krav Maga.

@Brady2k10 Darren? LOL! He DOES NOT even know the full system, he learned only the Civilian stuff; the Military stuff etc he did not learn. Classic example of guy (Imi) giving someone certificates he was not really worthy of or indicative of superior knowledge or skill; as Darren was running a country or promoting KM, and no doubt Imi got persuaded to give him certificates, etc.
@CloudsBeyond and how do you know eh? imi wasnt a stupid man, he wouldnt just hand out certificates infact i believe only darren and eyal got one from imi and if imi thinks he was good enough then i trust imis word over yours anyday, maybe he does know only the civillian stuff, so what, hes good at it, and KM isnt just for soldiers and law enforcement anyway, also darren is an expert in counter terrorism, and imo he does know all the military KM he would have learnt it by now idiot

You should look CLOSELY into the background and claims of people like Moni Aizik, Darren Levine, Avi Nardia, etc - there claims do not check out & that is easily verifiable.
KravMaga is effective! The street is different to a cage! Take fingers in areshole of opponent / fish hooking / advanced scrotum twisting techniques / eye gouging / punches to throat / fingers up nose / biting / spitting, etc - all 'legal' in a street fight but all illegal in a MMA fight. Say technique against grappler - ram your thumb up there arsehole then with fingers of same hand use Dragons Claw to buttock cheek so they cannot pull away from you, nobody can take that & keep fighting!

I was taught this by him a few days ago in Arnhem. Eyal is awesome!!!! He was on tour here in the Netherlands!!
