  • followes? evidance of God Being My Father...? What is the evidance of your natural father being your father? so To God is the spiritual supernatural... Is That reflected in my life as a Son of God?

  • Revalation of the Holy Spirit... meditation of The Word Of God.

  • Identity chrisis... What fallowes the Sons of God...? What is evedance as to our paternity God as father?

  • if a man was anointed of God. whould we not also see minifestations of Glory like the rest of the prophets of God? I mean... The Word of God says we are all anointed... so can we all prophesie like Eli Prohpet of God. As Christ is, and we are perfected in Christ, should we not All be Able to do as Christ does? He did say we are sons of God... so? miracles followed all the Prophets, Jesus.. sons of god...So we as sons of God are Missing what? Fruits of who we are.

  • Powerful video.

  • Members also have a variety of projects they can choose to work on. One example of a project recently completed by the community was an application developed for the major mobile device platforms such as Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and WebOS. This program, called Mormon Channel, allows access to the Church's radio station, conference and scripture recordings and even audio recordings of individual Church magazine articles.

  • Temples are considered houses of the Lord where Christ's teachings are reaffirmed through marriage, baptism and other ordinances that unite families for eternity and where members learn more about the purpose of life.

  • But if it was up to Setu, he would be headed to South Africa.

“I would love to work in the communities in South Africa and spread the gospel there,” Setu said.

“My religion has been everything to me. Without it I would not be where I am.

“I want to spread the gospel of my religion to other places, so it can help them like it has me.

“I will put my blessings on hold to honour my religion for two years.”

  • Such questions seem endless. We can, however, be certain of some things. For example, Nephi’s ship was made with great skill under the frequent direction of the Lord. It was not made “after the manner of men” (1 Nephi 18:2). It did not need to be tested or trialed before they set off; instead it apparently first entered the water on the day of departure after the family had boarded (1 Nephi 18:8).

  • Each of the Haydons except Michael, Brett and Conner Corbin, and Justin Carter have all created short "About Us" biographies. Most of them say they want to use the trek to honor specific Mormon individuals who walked the trail 150 or more years ago.

Clive said part of the purpose is to honor pioneers who blazed the trail. But Clive also said he is making the trip for a much more personal reason: "I want to increase our faith and our own family unity."

  • Mormon families take spiritual, educational journey

  • Alexandria Alder, 16, of Thatcher 3rd Ward, Thatcher Arizona Stake, said the finale — during which the youth sang the LDS hymn "Come, Come, Ye Saints" — was her favorite part of the production. Everyone coming together in that moment, she said, symbolizes "everyone being excited about the temple."

  • "I never realized it would stir up such commotion," Selk said. "I just wish people would be OK with true happiness."

  • When the article detailing Richardson's negative experience with a temple wedding appeared in The Arizona Republic, Nicole Shreeve said her mother wanted to ensure that the other viewpoint also received attention.

"Lisa wrote the article because she felt so opposite than the other mother. Part of her ached because she wished that mother would have felt peace," Sue Shreeve said. "She wanted everyone to know that it's not an exclusion, it's sacred."

  • Cheri Richardson was devastated and angry at the church and told her story to The Arizona Republic.

Lisa Selk felt understanding and peace and responded to Richardson's account.

"Lisa thought someone needed to stand up," said Sue Shreeve, Selk's friend. "She was in the same boat as the other mother, but she chose to be happy. Life is a choice, so she chose to trust her daughter."

  • The Mesa Temple was the site of two weddings on March 12, 2010 — with two mothers who had two differing reactions.

Both couples had fulfilled their dreams of being married in the temple that day. Both had mothers who did not share their faith and were unable to attend the ceremony.

  • Non-Mormon Arizona mother supports temple marriage

  • As part of the ceremony, President Monson put mortar along the edge of the cornerstone, then asked Church leaders accompanying him to do the same. President Henry B. Eyring, first counselor in the First Presidency; Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve; Elder Claudio R.M. Costa of the Presidency of the Seventy; and Elder William R. Walker of the Seventy and Executive Director of the Church's Temple department followed.

  • Speaking to the boys and girls gathered for the ceremony, President Monson asked the boys to serve missions and told them all to get married in the temple.

That is why we brought a temple down here, he said.

  • Dopp added, "If there is anyone who wants to hear our message or is just in need of a helping hand, please contact us. Our phone number is 292-6181, and our church is open at 10 a.m. Sunday mornings at 986 Smythe.

  • "I am excited to be here in Fredericton."

There are roughly 80 other missionaries like Dopp and Prince throughout the Maritimes. Most are university aged men and they are called elders. Prince explained that similar work is done by couples who have retired (called senior missionaries) and young women (called sister missionaries).

  • Prince was also born and brought up in Utah. "In high school I enjoyed sports. I played football for Hurricane High, wrestled and competed with the track and field team.

"I plan on attending university when I go back home this August."

However, Prince is fully engaged in his ministry today, as well as the part of the world where he now serves. As he put it, "I have chosen to serve a mission, because God has really blessed me in my life and I want to give back as much to Him as I can.

  • People who embark upon a ministry rightly note that their hours of labour are long. However, Elder Cade Dopp and Elder Broc Prince, two missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who are nearing the end of their two-year placements in Fredericton, eclipse the work hours of just about any other servant of God.

  • Mormon missionaries work long hours spreading their beliefs

  • Brother Oaks said the new facility will be beyond expectations. His thoughts also turned to the generosity of the members "who make things like this possible." He is certain the lives of faithful members will be blessed as they help build and stock the storehouse to assist those in need.

  • After the ceremony, Elder Rudd reminisced on his almost lifelong connection to Church welfare and Bishops' Central Storehouses. He was thrilled to play a role in opening a new facility. "I'm delighted — this is a great honor."

  • More than three years later, Taylor's volleyball career is over and she was recently accepted into the nursing program at Weber State University. There are aspects of the church she is still adjusting to, like the lack of noise in a church meeting and refraining from clapping.

"When I saw President (Gordon B.) Hinckley walk out at conference, my first impulse was to clap," she said.

  • Dress: "...modest, neat, clean, and consistent with the values and principles of the LDS church.... A clean, well cared for appearance."

According to Kevin Brodowski, age 17, that wasn't too much to ask for in exchange for the opportunity go to the LDS Formal, have some fun dancing, eat great refreshments, and have a photo taken of him and his girl.

  • Blair, an attorney, veteran of the Texas War for Independence and celebrated figure in Utah history, was a respected leader in his church and friend of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints President Brigham Young.

  • • The Research Wiki on new FamilySearch, an electronic encyclopedia focused on family history subjects allowing anyone to contribute information. It already contains many of the research aids and instruction sheets found at the Family History Library and can be accessed anywhere in the world, Elder Packer said.

  • • The Indexing System, whereby volunteers worldwide, working at their home computers, create indexes to millions of source records digitized from microfilm images in the Church's vast collection.

  • Elder Allan F. Packer of the Seventy speaks at evening Family History Consultant Fireside in Salt Lake Tabernacle, held in conjunction with training the consultants had received earlier in the day.

  • With dramatic changes in recent years in family history work, the challenge in the Church today is to have more people helping to do the work, said Elder Allan F. Packer of the Seventy in an evening fireside for family history consultants.

  • A lot doing a little

Changes in technology, procedure make family history accessible

  • Schnibbe and Wobbe spent three years together in a German labor camp, where they suffered beatings and starvation. They spent the freezing winter months wading in water up to their thighs as they dug in peat bogs, which Schnibbe would later blame for the severe arthritis in his knees.

  • Schnibbe, 18, was sentenced to five years in a labor camp. Wobbe, 16, was sentenced to 10 years.

Hübener, the mastermind, was sentenced to death and beheaded.

  • The Church leader's remarks on integrity was one of several value-themed messages delivered by leaders of various religious faiths. Other addresses focused on loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor and personal courage.

  • Integrity is realized by doing the right thing at the right time for the right reason — at any cost.

That was the message Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve shared with cadets and others gathered May 7 for the National Day of Prayer Breakfast at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

  • And there was even a fifth possible sport -- football.

"From a very young age, she could pass an amazing ball with a very tight spiral," Moore's father, Rich Moore, said, pointing out that Lindsey played flag football through seventh grade. "She wanted to play (tackle) football in high school, but I put a stop to that

  • "I remember as a little girl going down to the Beehive House on Saturday afternoon with a couple of my brothers," she said. "We would go up the back stairs to the second floor, and there would be grandfather Smith with his lovely beard. And he would hold out his arms and say, 'Come here, my darlings,' and we would run over and jump on his lap. What a great experience! Then he'd open up a big drawer on the right side of his desk, and there he would have candy."

  • In remarks after receiving the award from the foundation's chairman, Kim R. Wilson, Sister Jacobsen spoke of her girlhood as the granddaughter of two Church presidents, Joseph F. Smith and Heber J. Grant.

  • "The music has always been of the highest quality," said Gene Morlan, 92, the choir's founder and musical director for nearly two decades. "It's run the gamut," tailored to the season and the audience.

  • The 75-member choir is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and will have a grand reunion this month.

Their varied repertoire from Broadway to requiems fulfills part of the choir's purpose, to "provide a challenging and enriching experience through which members may learn and strive for excellence of musical expression."

  • As sisters focus on personal revelation and prioritizing their lives, they are more able to move the Lord's work forward, Sister Beck said.

  • Parents should also play a pivotal role in the program's implementation, said Brother Gibson.

  • Brother Beck said the new program has already been field tested in different areas of the world. From those tests, the presidency discovered two key findings. First, the most successful implementations occurred where local priesthood leadership was vigorously involved in the program's implementation and follow-up. Second, those quorums that integrated Duty to God in their Sunday quorum meetings consistently realized better results.

  • @omiolo Sounds like a corporation and not a faith community to me.

  • @MormonUnApologist

yeah, but your types ONLY hear what they want to!

  • @omiolo And you are open to new ideas? Please, only if they come from your so called profit - some man claiming he has seen god and talks to him. You are an unrepentant liar and are going to hell.

  • @MormonUnApologist

I am open to the TRUTH.

    You should try that!

  • @omiolo My truth doesn't come from wealthy business men and social or political upstarts claiming to speak to God. It also doesn't come from my feelings (aka "the spirit") or from other leaders of a cult. You should try LISTENING and LEARNING from people outside of your CULT. You might find it LIBERATING

  • @MormonUnApologist I find ANTImormonism the OPPOSITE of liberating. I find it desperate and despicable. The divorce and the abuse is enough to turn ANYONE away (anyone with a soul).

  • @omiolo So how would you know? When were YOU the great mumbling rhetorical omiolo an anti-mormon? Is that polluted Mormon cesspool of a brain of yours making things up again?

  • @MormonUnApologist

    still bitter over your divorce?

  • @omiolo What divorce? What the hell are you talking about?

  • @MormonUnApologist

come on! you know probably better than I do that ANTImormons are full of divorce. Don't pretend that you do NOT know the obvious.

  • @omiolo Strangely enough, and perhaps it's because I don't live in the prozac laden Salt Lake valley, but I know more Mormons who have been divorced then I do genuine Christians or non-Christians for that matter. Now how would you explain that?

  • @MormonUnApologist

** prozac laden Salt Lake valley**

yeah, it just gets worse and worse as more ANTImormons move to the valley. I guess though it makes sense, the more ANTImormons the more ANTIdepressants.

  • @omiolo Oh that is very cute. I'll bet if you did a scientific study you would find rather conclusively the majority of prescription drug users in Utah are actually Mormon. I guess if you can't have MULTIPLE WIVES to have constant sex with it would make anyone depressed.

  • @MormonUnApologist

PURE conjecture based on wishful thinking. Similar to MOST of your comments about Mormons! But hey, when that is ALL you have, you have to stick with it!

  • @omiolo Your so called "one true church on the face of the earth" is all based on wishful thinking and stroking one's EGO. Who wouldn't jump at the chance to be come like GOD. Pure arrogance! As if you were some sort of all powerful wizard of oz. I hate to tell you but you aren't in Kansas anymore. The real world of facts and truth are out there, not just the CONJECTURE, of Joseph Smith.

  • @MormonUnApologist

    **one true church**

actually it is TRUE and LIVING Church. But your types do NOT have to worry about the details when you are DESPERATELY trying to throw mud!

  • @omiolo Oh, my dear omi, I have gone far beyond mud to hurling the everlasting boulders of God's word, yea, the stone cut with out hands at your little glass house built on the sand of Joseph's Smiths lies and deception. The floods are coming, I hope you are good at holding your breath for a few years.

  • @MormonUnApologist

I realize you are DESPERATE for the LDS Church to be false. No matter how much you fight against God, you can NEVER change the truth about His church!

  • @omiolo Are you trying to say that just because Mormonism is still around makes it true? Well in that case so are Methodists, Lutherans, Episcopalians, Baptists, Seventh Day Adventists, Presbyterians all of which came about BEFORE Mormonism....... That would make CATHOLICS the most true since they have been around the longest. And since Mormonism is one of the newest to exist that would make YOUR church the LEAST true. Case Closed!

  • @MormonUnApologist Being around at the LATTER days is definitely one sign that the Church of Jesus Christ could be true and living. Having hateful and ignorant people ATTACK it is also ANOTHER one.

  • @omiolo Christians have been attacked since BEFORE the time of Christ. Just because Mormons are chased after for being a false Christian church neither makes them "the true church" nor does it make them Christian. You could say the same thing about Branch Davidians - "oh they are persecuting our little David Koresh cult, it must mean we're right and they're just jealous for not being part of the true faith." Just like Mormonisms iIllusions of grandeur and nothing more.

  • @MormonUnApologist Actually Mormon Christians are chased after for the same reasons the pharisees, sadduccees, greeks, and romans went after the Church of Jesus Christ in earlier times.

  • @omiolo "Mormon Christians" LOL, what a bunch of horse manure! I could grow some amazing flowers with the undigested crap you guys vomit up to attempt to make yourselves religiously relevant. I don't care how much makeup you put on that wild pig of a story Joseph Smith came up with, it's still a big fat oinking pig with it's head in the trough of rotten fruit. Time to slaughter that whopper of a Mormon lie your first "prophet" dreamed up and make some nice crispy bacon out of that dressed up sow

  • @MormonUnApologist

yes, you wicked do take the truth to be hard.....

    why again?

  • @omiolo Truth? Yeah right! You wouldn't know truth if it bit you in the butt. You're probably the conservative sort that believes things like COMMON SENSE are "liberal ideals."

  • @MormonUnApologist

    ANOTHER BIZARRE comment from you!

  • @omiolo What's bizarre is the fact you're like this Mormon periodical reposting service. Does the Mormon Corporation pay you to repost all these Mormon feel good stories? Otherwise you're wasting your time and youtube's bandwidth. I'll bet the only ones who want you posting your stuff are other Mormons who probably already PAY the church to get their magazines and Mormon spin news - as if they don't pay enough for their SALVATION already.

  • @MormonUnApologist I go out of my way to help you learn the REALITY about the Mormons so that you do NOT feel the need to CONSTANTLY lie about them and this is the thanks I get?

  • @omiolo So how is posting Mormon stories and LDS news teaching the reality of the church? The world generally doesn't care about what's going on within Mormon culture or even the humanitarian things the church likes to really push on in the media. There are millions of other faiths and organizations doing the same thing with a lot less FANFARE. The issue is with the theological, doctrinal, and historical inconsistencies and Biblical incompatibilities pervasive in Mormonism.

  • @MormonUnApologist You really need to work on replying to my messages quicker. This lag time is NOT acceptable.

  • @omiolo I'm DREADFULLY sorry. I only have DSL at work! I'm not connected to such a communications hub like would expect you have there in your LDS Headquarters cubicle.

  • @MormonUnApologist So I am at the LDS headquarters? Is that ANOTHER one of your scientific facts?

  • @omiolo Merely speculation of course. But I can't imagine how you post your Mormon articles so quickly with out some sort of direct electronic access to them. Seems logical one who worked in the church PR department would be able to do what you do with the apparent easy you have. I would think you would get annoyed by typing the security codes all the time for youtube with how much stuff you like to post.

  • @MormonUnApologist "Merely speculation of course" doesn't that bother you that this is ALL you have?

  • @omiolo Something tells me you wouldn't admit to working in the church office building even if it were true. But again it's quite a feat to copy and paste all those Mormon articles you seem to fancy.

  • @MormonUnApologist "even if it were true"

so now there is a possibility it is NOT true? You really need to stick to ONE of the stories you make up.

  • @omiolo Well you are more than welcome to set the record straight and end any speculation all together. You can tell us all what you do professionally and what your callings in the church are as well as why you are here on youtube doing what ever it is you do.

  • @MormonUnApologist But I do NOT want you to speculate, it ONLY seems to confuse you more. So I would NEVER feed your speculation.

  • @omiolo But you clearly don't want to reveal anything truthful about yourself. You're still trying to cloak yourself in holy mystery like some sort of temple worker at the veil. Oh yes, I know a bit about the cultish and masonic Mormon practices. So one way or the other you have a problem with truth and accepting potential consequences from being TRUTHFUL. Not an uncommon PROBLEM with Mormons I've noticed.

  • @MormonUnApologist come on! Your types believe WHATEVER you want to believe irregardless of the truth! Your ENTIRE youtube existence is making things up, so OBVIOUSLY you are NO friend to truth!

  • @omiolo Making things up? It's your history out of your own history books. Nothing needs to be made up, but it's clear the church leadership has spent many decades smoothing things over and sweeping the salacious parts of its history under the rug. After enough rewrites perhaps Mormonism will look even more like mainstream Christianity after all, but it will no longer be how Joseph Smith created it. Heck it already isn't so much has changed in 150 some odd years.

  • @MormonUnApologist NO, you will NOT find your made up version in my LDS history books! Somebody is sure pulling the wool over your eyes!

  • @MormonUnApologist Taylor has no regrets about joining the church.

"When you grow up doing things one way, then switch to something new, it's not easy, but I am happy with my decision," she said. "I am still asking a lot of questions, but I still stand by my decision."

  • SALT LAKE CITY -- The Mormon Tabernacle Choir has just finished the prelude music, and President Dieter F. Uchtdorf is walking to the pulpit to start the 180th Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Tucked under the balcony in the Conference Center, a small army of people are watching him on dozens of screens in little rooms.

  • The MORONS more like.

  • Mormon's Editorial Method and Meta-Message

    by Brant A. Gardner

In his presentation at the 2008 FAIR Conference, Gardner looks closely

at the way the ancient author Mormon organized, structured, and edited

the text of what we now have as the Book of Mormon. Gardner points out

that the book we have today is not the book that Mormon wanted us to

    have.

  • With the loss of the first 116 pages and the addition of both

the small plates and Moroni's writings, the structure Mormon used is

not obvious to the modern reader.

  • Oops. Poor Joe screwed up. I thought God didn't make mistakes. Perhaps this does prove that it wasn't the work of God at all. What a shame for Mormons. It could say in those first 116 pages in reformed Egyptian "April Fools!"

  • @praestant8

**And now, if there are faults they are the mistakes of men; wherefore, condemn not the things of God, that ye may be found spotless at the judgment-seat of Christ. **

  • @omiolo Huh. How about lock yourself away in some cubicle at FARMS and give apologists something worth while to talk about.

  • @MormonUnApologist

How about you STOP the ABUSE and DIVORCE that is so rampant among your kind?

  • @omiolo Are you suggesting Mormons never abuse and divorce? Please. You better check some stats. Utah has some of the highest youth homeless stats in the country. What do you think might cause that? So much for it being "happy valley."

  • As the volume of information has increased on the FAIR Web site, it

has become increasingly important to be able to search efficiently for

articles and references relating to certain topics and key words. To

make searching more flexible and complete, the FAIR Web site now uses

the Google search engine. Visitors to the FAIR Web site will notice

the new search box in the upper right corner of most pages.

  • To my delight I found that detailed weather records had been kept only eighty miles from Palmyra, but to my disappointment I found it had snowed the night before April 6, and had been cloudy and freezing weather all that day. I did not pursue the study further

  • If people simply humbled themselves, prayed sincerely about what they studied, and were willing to follow the answer from God - then all the unnecessary quibbling over trivial matters would not be found on YouTube.

  • The problem here is that for you and your peers, there's only one correct answer. If I pray over the BOM and get a negative answer, the problem must be with me and not with Mormonism, right?

This, then, creates, a situation where the answer is predetermined, no matter how wrong it is.

And you have only this to fall back on, given the assault that the church and its doctrines are under and the number of members leaving, the faith without facts.

  • When I learned of his proposed date, my interest in this problem was immediately rekindled. Two decades ago, about the time my book April Sixth was published, it occurred to me that the First Vision might have happened on April 6, 1820. Knowing that the vision had been on a beautiful day, I sought weather records to verify whether that date was at least a candidate

  • @DefendingMormonism If you just believe those "foolproof" emotions the whole world would be a rosy place. It's a good thing science doesn't adhere to the Mormon methodology of "truth." If it did we would all be in trouble.

  • His Wharton colleagues at the University of Pennsylvania were surprised. Why would he leave one of the nation's top business schools -- with tenure virtually assured -- and head west to a LDS Church-owned university?

  • He decided to show them why, and the rest of country is taking notice, as well.

"My goal was to build such a strong program in research [at BYU] that no one would have to apologize for coming here," he said.

  • Prophets are the one sure way to understand the plan of happiness and the atonement of Jesus Christ in the plan of Salvation. Prophet do not replace God by any means. We have modern prophets in Israel. Joseph and Brigham were our Moses... President's who were stewards of this gospel are like the Isaiah's, Jeremiah's and Ezekiel's of modern times. None worshiped these men of old just like none of us worship Joseph Smith. He is the prophet of the restoration and for this, we are sincerely grateful

  • If Brigham Young was the equivalent of Moses, why does the church distance itself from most of what he said?

  • @moparmonster1965

    Moses made mistakes too.

He wasn't permitted to see the promised land... instead he was taken by the Lord... and in like manner,

  • Actually, no, he didn't and this shows how little respect you have for the Bible, not knowing what's in it. God promised the land of Canaan to Moses but when God told Moses to speak to the rock to get water to flow out of it, Moses instead hit the rock with his staff, clearly disobeying God. Moses, unfortunately, was the victim of his own inability to follow orders from God, not because he made a prophetic mistake.

  • @moparmonster1965

The church doesn't distance itself from what he said. He can say whatever he wants and attempt to make sense of things. Not all words that come from a prophet can be considered as prophecy for the church, or even GOOD at times.

Isaiah once said, "Wo is unto me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips; and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of Hosts." Isaiah 6:5

Prophets are imperfect men. Just drop it.

  • I'll grant you that the prophet asking his wife to pass the salt is not prophesy or revelation, but Smith said that a prophet is only a prophet when he's acting like one. When Brigham Young said that Adam was God, he sure was acting like one, wasn't he?

  • No, I will not let this go because we both know that it undercuts all of your claims and you want to ignore that fact.

D&C 21:4-5 states that the prophet speaks for God and Gospel Principles states that the prophet cannot lead the church astray. Nowhere do we find, however, any way or possibilities that the prophet can be wrong.

  • @moparmonster1965

Prophets don't know everything. In the PoGP, we learn that Moses once believed something in error. (Moses 1:10)

"And it came to pass that it was for the space of many hours before Moses did again receive his natural strength like unto man; and he said unto himself: Now, for this cause I know that man is nothing, which thing I never had supposed. " Until prophets experience the full effects of revelation, they are left to speculation regardless of how accurate or not they are.

  • "Full effects of revelation?" Since not one Mormon prophet has made one correct prophesy or revelation, I'd say you're out of luck.

  • @moparmonster1965 Well said.

  • Thank you.

  • I never said they knew everything; I said there were no provisions for them to be wrong. According to the texts, the ability for them to be wrong never enters the equation.

Thanks for mentioning Moses 1:10. You're aware that between verses 10 and 20, there are at least 11 different phrases that come from the New Testament, right? That's odd, since the tone between the two is so different here.

  • @moparmonster1965

You indeed are a scribe in the latter-days!

  • Yes, I write pretty well, thanks for noticing.

  • @THELDSLIFE an even better case could be made that the the Prophets were not forutne tellers, and stated those things so that when they happen then, and only then, would people realize that they were moved by God.

  • The problem is that Mormon prophets don't seem to know anything. They're always wrong but are revered as being of God.

Since we have no guidelines as to what a prophet says being right or wrong, it's left up to the individual's interpretation.

  • Funny how no Mormon prophet has ever been right about anything they 'prophesied.'

    Odd.

  • @moparmonster1965

What's kind of funny is how folks know little of the Bible or how unwilling they are to use the same argument about prophecies made by Joseph Smith compared to those made by Jesus Christ. Apparently, Joseph uses the same language that the savior did when making many of his prophecies; including but not limited to Matthew Chapter 24: 34

"Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. "

    2000 years later, what's missing? A lot!

  • Mormons of Smith's day understood that he meant it to be in their generation: "I hope this because God promised in the year 1832 that we should, before the generation then living has passed away, return and build up the City of Zion in Jackson county..." (May 5, 1870, JOD vol 13, p 362)

That was 166 years ago and the church doesn't even own the property now. Do you think that generation is dead?

  • I was hoping you'd bring that up: the difference here is that certain things must come to pass before that generation that Jesus spoke of ('this' generation), whereas Smith's prophesy has no such restrictions.

  • @THELDSLIFE "Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. "

    2000 years later, what's missing? A lot!

You have missed the context of the statement. Read the whole chapter. Jesus just finished with describing the events of the last days, the generation referred to was the one that would witness those events. Thus, the preceding signs would be within a single generation.

  • crazy

  • BULLSHIT!!!!

  • That was short but disrespectful...

  • Have you seen the 2008 numbers? About to pass the total number of Jews on Earth.

  • @karlbx But it will never surpass the number of true Christians on the planet. Keep dreaming!

  • I like this video. The music reminds me of Braveheart.

  • This was a great video until the very end. The Bible teaches in Hebrews 1:1-2 that,

"Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom he also created the world."

So you see, it was long ago God spoke by the mouths of prophets, not today. Today Jesus is speaking through his word. The only prophets that exist today are false prophets, 2 Peter 2:1-2.

  • Hmm.. I suggest that you search your Scriptures a little more. :)

Sure prophets spoke long ago. However, "his Son" was a prophet too (Matt 21:11) and an apostle (Hebrews 3:1). What makes you think that prophets won't exist in the last days (Rev 11:3-10)?

  • If you are Mormon, then you are one that does not believe that the Bible alone is the only word of God, and there is not much I can tell you. However Joseph Smith himself made many false prophesies and the book that he wrote contains a different gospel than the one "ONCE FOR ALL delivered to the saints." (Jude :3). Since the book of Mormon was not delivered to the saints in the early church century then it is not part of "the faith once for all delivered to the saints."

  • You have misinterpreted Hebrews 1:1-2 to say that prophets no longer exist(ed). This is evident from what Paul said:

    Ephesians 3:3-5

"How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is NOW revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;"

  • Lol where did you get that from? If the Prophet has so much money, then how come he lives in a small apartment? And why are the leaders not taking extravagant vacations or driving expensive cars? My Seminary teacher, who does get payed, drives around in a small pickup truck. Exactly what makes the BofM hysterical? If you ask me, when Elijah was making fun of the priests of Ba'al, that was hysterical.

  • What most people don't realize is that all the 12 Apostles and first presidency all had to "Sell all that they own" and give it to the church... in some cases it equated to many small fortunes. What else is unique to they who live the "Law of Consecration" is that yes, the church does take care of them BUT its possible that they are living on their own accumulated money as part of the Law.

They need protection as well as other things but what church dignitary doesn't?

  • Google vs. God?

    hmmmm....

  • ...And then Google the response to it. :)

  • Jesus is the last High priest. We now have the priesthood of thre believer.

If you don't believe me, look this up!

The transfer of the aaronic priesthood to melchizeedek

  • I like that it uses the theme from The Last of the Mohicans.

  • what has thomas Monson done to make him prophet?

  • be called by god basicly

  • @tinckerbelle:What did Moses do to make him prophet?

  • He lead god's people. he never put himself higher than god. Like Joseph Smith. I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has been able to keep a whole church together since the days of adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, JOhn,Peter, nor Jesusever DID it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from HIm: but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet. history of Church vol.6;408-409,

  • so is this why Joseph himself professed Christ, and prayed to the Father in the name of Christ?

and FYI - the Saviours mission was to come here, and be crucified for our sins. He had to come in a day and age where the people were wicked enough they would be willing to crucify their own God.

Joseph Smith was called of God to restore the church in a time when the truth would never again be removed from the earth. stating such does not place him above Christ, and you know that.

  • Did say he was bigger than GOD in the quite I gave you.

  • here are some more comments from the save area...

the Lord has constituted me so curiously that I glory in persecution.

obviously this comment professes he is subject to Christ.

I am in the bosom of a virtuous and good people.

so this statement is rather in reference to his gratitude to his circumstance and situation rather then true boasting.

  • 2 Cor 10

13 But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you.

15 Not boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other mens labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly,

  • You boasrt about the truth of JEsus Christ nothing more about yourself. Joesph Smith did that.

  • obviously you did not read the entire statement as you do, and take it in context he was boasting of those good people he had been surrounded with.

that sounds like boasting in God to me... but then again you think we worship Joseph instead of Christ so I have no hope of having a legitimate conversation of the matter.

  • That in you own church history James 4;16 all boast is wrong.

  • Jesus Christ proclaimed that he was the Son of God. The Pharisees and Sadducees were offended and accused him of blasphemous boasting. They were angered by his sermons.

The Prophet Joseph Smith testified and preached of Christ. In all things, he strived to lead people to Jesus Christ. In so doing, he lost everything, including his life.

God's prophets have always offended people because of their boldness.

You are missing the mark. Don't let distractions keep you from enjoying the truth.

  • I have personal relationship with Jeus christ do you? I have the truth of god. Joseph Smith lied. read the quote he made.

  • I absolutely have a personal relationship with Christ, and one that is stronger now then any other point in my life.

in the Saviours name I have seen miracles wrought, prayers answered, testimonies about Joseph Smith calling as a prophet increased etc.

if you don't feel, know, and understand that this church is all about Christ you do not understand the church, or its doctrines.

  • I do I was member of the Mormon church for 22 years. I was raised in the church. I know the doctrine backwards and forwards. When I was sixteen. Joseph Smith funeral was recreeated in my semeriany class. That man wordship. not of god.

  • no you do not know & understand. what you know and understand was YOUR EXPERIENCE. you do not know, or understand MY EXPERIENCE.

FYI - I have not heard a single person pray to Joseph Smith, believe they can get forgiveness of their sins through Joseph etc.

rather I have heard / read statements like only in and through Christ by many including Joseph.

I have not seen or heard any comment where Joseph feels he is above Christ. yes I have seen your volume 6 etc etc read it in context.

  • It dose not matter. Iam saying mormons pray to Joseph Smith or even wordshiphim. But by my experience it did happen. When things like this happen it is man wordship nothing more.

  • it is respect, and gratitude NOTHING MORE.

you have your opinion of what it is, and as a faithful member of this church I am telling you point blank you are wrong.

I know my heart, I know my feelings. I respect and reverence Joseph Smith for the way he accepted the calling God called him with, and for the way he performed his duties in that office. however, I do not worship him in any sense.

doctrines are clear we worth Heavenly Father, His on Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost nothing more.

  • I'm not saying all mormon are like this. But I did happen weather you believe me or not.. It started my life out of the mormon church. I felt god leading me to leave.. Like I said I don't talk to them any more. This happen befor I came to christ as christian. If I talk to them about Jesus Christ Thae died on the cross for their sins. Plus I never gave you their names.
