I know Melissa personally, saw her picture, worked with her on the common project to campaign for Emin and Adnan. Melissa is real and a good friend of Azerbaijan and our people, and her work in France really helped to raise Emin and Adnan's profiles. What you're trying to do is to undermine and negate our campaign, which is rather sad and is typical of authoritarian regimes which seek to discredit their opponents, rather than reform. But we WILL change this regime, sooner or later.

The situation with Adnan and Emin has great significance in regards to current events in the region. If today, in 2009, the Aliyev regime is jailing it's own youth based on their blog content, imagine what they would have done to the Armenians in Nagorno Karabakh had they not broken free. Events like this show you why the Karabakh war was of neccessity. Azerbaijan is going down the same path as every other oil producing nation, a path of Totalitarianism and Corruption.

8 people died in a heated democratic race, it's tragic, but in every nations history, such things happen. Atleast in Armenia there was a movement for democracy, unlike in Azerbaijan where no opposition even existed, it was an absolute joke. Armenians would never allow a president to declare himself king and place statues of his father all over the country. Secondly, Karabakh is independent of Armenia and those Armenians live a much better life today then they would have under Azerbaijan.

Everything you stated is false, theres no facts behind it. How can Armenia be a dictatorship when presidents have run their 4 or 8 year terms and left office. Secondly, transparency International, ranked Armenia 109th, in terms of corruption, where as Azerbaijan was ranked 158th. Thats a huge difference. Regarding the minorities, all those people you mentioned are still there, the reason they are few is bcause there are better economical locations for them to live. It's totally natural.

If the Armenians of Karabakh had not broken away, they would have been repressed just like all the other minorities in Azerbaijan. We saw what happend to Novruzeli Mammadov. Everyday, incidents like this in Azerbaijan show the international community why Nagorno Karabakh will never give up it's freedom to live under a monarchy.

I think it makes sense for activists to remain anonymous, given the ruthless and brutal nature of the aliev regime. The shame that these people brought to Azerbaijan is unimaginable. The arrests of activists, oppositon supporters and journalists, changing our constituion to allow Aliev monachy, losing in Karabakh negotiations - the list can go on and on.
