  • lol.

  • I was disappointed with the werewolf effect honestly. It's the only thing I didn't like about the show. A werewolf is a man who transforms into a wolf. Not a man who transforms into a bipedal man with fur and fangs. American Werewolf in London is still the master and imo the only one that's ever gotten it right. Still love the show though and Russell Tovey does it very well, very intense.

  • @pumkin54 Well, the only thing i didn't like besides the end of season three. I'm still scarred from that :(

  • pumkin54, definition of a werewolf is someone that turns into a half wolf half man !! That would make it Bipedial. As far as "American Werewolf in London, one of my favorite movies period !! But interviews with Rick Baker (who created the werewolf) in an interview with Mick Garis siad he wanted to make the werewolf Bipedal !!! Baker said in the interview a werewolf is a bipedal in nature and fought with John Landis to make it Bipedal, but Landis wanted a hound from hell So Baker caved in

  • @markhh2424 I suppose it depends on which camp you're in. Some people think a werewolf is a man who actually transforms into a wolf, albeit a supernaturally powerful one. Others think it's a man who transforms into a kind of anthropomorphic wolf-like creature. I'm in the first camp. Your post made me start reading up on it a bit more. Apparently they've been in literature since around 200BCE, in many forms. A study of the origin of their mythology is actually pretty interesting.

  • @pumkin54 say what you want about bipedal werewolves but if you want the epitamy of dissapoinment in a werewolf watch Teen wolf (the new series) i mean the tranformations are actually pretty damn good but in the end all they do with the werewolf is give him nails, sideburns and contacts!

  • @pumkin54 sounds like you did some further research and that is good. I have done quite a bit of research as well on werewolves as well as vampires & legends of werewolves go back much farther back than that of vampires. If you look at old litature & drawings & paintings the majority show them as bipedial ! Wolves standing up like a man leaning on a wall in france. Pictures depicting werewolf like creatures with hands with that of a man holding a child with it in his mouth are just 2 examples

  • i love this show, have yet to see the american version

  • YES! No CGI! :D

  • i hope this statement really gets across to all movie and tv special effects people..

    CG sucks!!!

And this show proves the old fashioned way is just as an end result better looking..

The puppets and robots when done right really does look real..

the other thing they left out is since the puppet is there with the actors. the actors can respond better to it. again making it all look and feel real to the audience. PS I really do love that jaw popping puppet.. it is way cool

  • I would like that Werewolf statue, hooked up to a kind of Burglar alarm... the right kind of lighting, the right kind of sound... one Burglar shaped hole through the side of the house.

  • I can't decide which werewolf I like... Syfy's "Being Human" or BBC's "Being Human" which... is exactly the same show but different actors and names for the characters. lol BBC's one is a lot fuzzier though. ♥

  • Love, love, love the prostetics, rather than cg! Just rivets you to the tv! ...and the US version is ghastly, unfortunately. Pointless as a remake, especially since UK is soo great

  • The werewolves on Being Human are so much better than those Twilight shape-shifting lunatics

  • Frankly my fave transformation of his is when it starts in the school house in season two...Those eyes those fangs and the pain mixed with his genuine desire to keep the girl safe...."Run!" ooooo gives me chills

  • not to be rude but whats with his screaming? hes all high pitched and shit its kinda freaky

  • @NinjaFox97 look up Werewolf Transformation Being Human and click the one showing him standing nekkid in the woods...that explains the screams.

  • the effects r good but the werewolf does not look good

  • Those things are freaky!

  • he should try red bull xx

  • "Yeah that's definitely not me, cause I can't push a jaw outta my face."

    Haha.

    C:

  • Thanks for posting this. I first discovered Being Human in July 2010 I fell in love with it immediatley. I am sooooo stoked to watch season 3. There is going to be an American version of Being Human on the SyFy channel. However, my dedication is for the UK version. I believe the British actors are better. I've seen clips of the US version. I have mixed feelings about the US version. Even though I am from the US. I still like the UK version better.

  • Ginger Snaps better.

  • dont you turn into a wolf wen u transform????

  • George is the best,

  • Russell Tovey is an excellent actor. And excellent werewolf =)

  • I'd really like to see either Gerard Butler or Viggo Mortensen play a werewolf someday. :)

  • @S1587915G lol, Viggo Mortensen already has.

  • OMG WTF HAHAHA LOLZ

  • What film is this from?

  • @RickRap100 its a tv series called "being Human"

  • Man he is so fucking hot.

  • I thought Paul Kasey, the main monster guy on Doctor Who was involved with this process, how come no mention?

  • werwolves are cool

  • I'm going to say... he loved being a werewolf doing that scene... it looked so cool

  • Poor Russell, so much make up! but you gotta know hes a pro at it, to go through all of that and still give an immense performance!

  • there anamatronic model is a carbon copy of Rick Bakers extendo head in An American Werewolf in London... pretty cool but they should have given props to Rick...

  • @Daveflex it's kinda hard to make a werewolf look different. Most anamatronic werewolf are gonna look similar

  • yeah i know what your saying, but i was reffering to the "extendo head" that Rick Baker invented, the first anamatronic device that actually morphed infront of your eyes., he actually invented it. Its just weird to me that they dont give him props thats all.

  • I don't see why they need to. Do you give credit to alexander bell everytime you use a phone? Or Thomas Edison every time you flip on a light? Just because someone invented doesn't mean that you have to give them props. And I don't think it would be that hard to make. Just because he made the first doesn't mean that they used the exact same design, just the idea.

  • dude, I'm just a big fan of prosthetic make-up and have been doing it for quite a few years now, and i just like to remember our pioneers such as dick smith and his protajay rick baker.. and if i was going to give props for anyone for turning on a light it would go to Nikola Tesla lol and ok im going to re-invent the wheel and get a pat on the back for it lol

  • well done for drinking from the fountain of knoledge rather than gargling Dave hardly anyone recognises Edison to be a freud

  • thanx! Tesla is one of my heros!!

  • one last reply also to your comment on the anamatronics I have seen american werewolf in london but you must consider the fact that the prosthetics designer hasn't and if he/she did the design probably wasn't copyrighted as the BBC are extremely cautious

  • not to be annoying you've got a great point but it was Antonio Meucci who invented the telephone and several people invented a form of lightbulb before Edison as daveflex pointed out it was Nikola Telsa, Edisons most used invention is the word hello ironicly invented to start telephone conversations (adapted from hullo), Bell prefered to say 'ahoy hoy' though both stole "their" most famous inventions. Yes I have a life (just intercepting that one before it happens) I just like to educate people

  • yeah ok I don't actually care that much, to me all that matters is learning how it works and how we can use it. I don't give a shit who invented it. They're dead.

  • At 2:42 why is that person touching his back? I understand that another person is controlling the air flow being pumped into rubber sacks to make his shoulders get bigger but I dont get why the other one is toucking his back...maybe she thinks he's sexy.

  • They are making sure the prosthetics are properly in place and connected. Moving around like that can cause a shift, and thats quite possible B-Roll of a rehearsal.

  • That hand appeared to be at the junction of the lines at the back of his neck. These lines either had cables or air running through them. I suspect the latter, which were probably filling air bladders on the face. When these bladders overfill, they have a tendency to push up things that the makeup artists have glued down into place. It's my impression this hand was pushing the lines and appliances back down after they were kicked up by the inflation of the bladders.

  • i love this episode

but i cnt believe that its ended a gr8 series

    hope its on soon

    AIDAN IS SO HOT ;)

  • didn't you hear? a new series is being made, i think it is on at 1:30 tomorrow

  • yeah i loved this episode that they are featuring here, they just showed the first season premier here in America :P my favorite part about George's transformation is when he's still got the teeth and eyes and when he screams it always sends chills down my spine lol i think Russel Tovey is like one of my new favorite actors now :D

  • amazing , really

  • Yeeahh giv some wolf action. I just watched the 1st episode and it was pretty cool the transformation but the last part the face it was lame =/ i hope they change a bit that part but anyway very great work

  • i agree the transfomation is one of the best ones i've seen but the last phase when he's actually turned was rubbish xx

  • This is cool, now I finally know how they make the claws grow.

Sweet this is going into my favorites.

  • Finally! Another film besides American werewolf in London that has a decent, realistic tf!

  • @XxZombieGrllovesUxX TV show, not movie.

  • i agree, but luckily i hear the final wolf form will be remade

  • @bornimperfect Thank God lol

  • are they ever going to realease the show on dvd i like to get the whole series

  • When it is all finished i think it looks a bit fake, but the tranformation bit isreally good, and its better than CGI

  • george's teeth in 3:03 how did you do them??

  • 1:15 soo scarry O.O

  • funny thing i was just watching this on the being human website i cant wait for the second series

  • There was just a pilot...

  • No. They mean second.

Not sure what you was watching but it went pilot, series one and then there will be series two.
