The public schools are not taking rights away by not allowing prayer. No one is stopping them from praying silently without disruption alone or persecuting them for their religion. while muslims created algebra had hospitals and persurved the greek and roman classics. i hope you know there were 4 main crusades and 8 minor ones only the first one was succseful then the christains lost in fact the 4th crusade ended up with christains looting constantanople. the crusades only impact on europe was the europeans were introduced to luxurys from the east like pepper, and we started getting some knowledge of the rest of the world.

You need to read about what is happening in a San Diego public elementary school. One hundred Muslim students, mostly Somalis, are given a special time to pray during school hours.

It does impede on everyones rights. No one else gets this - it creates segregation. It also require my child to be exposed to religious beliefs I am not in favor of. All faiths have many rituals and prayers.. that is why we have our Constitution to protect us all. Religion is for private life, churches, and is very personal.

No this is about out Constitution - Many Christian faiths have had to deal with the separation of church and state as well. It is forced prayer on the rest of the student population and it is wrong. So lets allow all religions to have their verbally spoken prayers in schools all according to their rituals.

humanist agnostic and atheist are not religions. i reconize the separation of church and state but really allowing kids to pray wont take away others writes also they pray once in the morning one at noon one at afternoon one at sunset and one at night. so really theres only one like two minute prayer that would be in a school day and that would probaly be during lunch it wont hurt that persons education.

If you are so passionate about it take it up with the Supreme court - for me it has been decided and I agree with all the Supreme court decisions they have made regarding public schools and religion.

In the case of San Diego recently it was more than two minutes. Their rituals required providing a 15-minute break in the classroom each afternoon to accommodate Muslim students who wish to pray. This is a debate that parents of that area will take to the Supreme court soon. As always the court will stand by our Constitution.

Nope you can practice your religion at your church, home, in you car, in your underwear in front of the toilet no one is stopping you. Private religious schools or home school are for prayer, but not public secular schools -- we have a wonderful constitution that doesn't impose a state religion on anyone, yet we are free to worship as we please with our religion of choice.

The public schools are not taking rights away by not allowing prayer. No one is stopping them from praying silently without disruption alone or persecuting them for their religion. Acceptance doesn't mean children from all other beliefs have to hear muslim prayers in a school setting. It is not just about Muslims and Christians.

There is not room in the school day for all religions to practice their rituals. Your arguement has no bases - no point only your feelings - no law or knowledge of it. - Any faith that is accommodated and allowed to have pray out loud is forcing and imposing a religion on all the students who do not believe as they do. Any to think that one religion is more important than the 1000's of others who don't impose is intolerant and violating rights.

They can learn about culture in world history or geography. Does Muslim prayer stop teen pregnancy - is there a statistic I don't know about. The kids aren't have school sponsored sex and drugs at noon. If you are Muslim or a Muslim wants to pray to themselves during lunch hour then pray to Allah and pray for drug problems and teen pregnancy and peers privately. How does it hurt you by not hearing Muslim prayer? You can learn some prayers on your own and hear them in your head privately.
