  • Julian is an under-rated musician - his basslines for the Teardrop were consistently inventive and funky - and remember all this was the late 70s (and this album came out in 1980) - long before all UK white boys got the obligatory dose of the funk going around at the time.

Saw them (and Echo) loads of times between 1979 and 81 and by god they were good. Spellbinding, in fact.

This is such a great song: and better, more urgent, in this remake than the Zoo original 45. Love it!

  • Excellent!

  • Julian Cope: another acid bathed genious who is only barely alive, his type is becoming more and more extinct, a great pity!

  • Check out Head Heritage for the latest on The Arch Drude, and anything else the governments won't allow! Julian's busier than ever with Brain Donor and his continuing solo output, as well as the incredible website he's blessed upon us. His wife Dorian has an awesome site which you can link from HH, chronicling the lost but not forgotten. So chop-fucking-chop! Bust a Move! Go there Now!!!

  • what a band!

  • Love the horns on this song, by Hurricane Smith, who played with The Beatles and had a number one hit himself back in the day.

  • Brilliance!!!!

  • 1 - this insistent bass line is absolutely brilliant. dark sinister and totally unforgiving. go get em.

2 - the live footage is savage. THIS is what we need more of in our lives today. ra ra ra.

  • One of the first tunes I learnt on bass. Good tune.

  • Brilliant! Hmmm, I wonder what Julian Cope is up to these days?
