@form109 It's hard to see in the daylight in this video but the gauge face is actually silver. It does not glow. I removed all the stock orange LEDs from the gauge cluster and soldered in new blue LEDs. I then removed the orange paint from the needles and used a matching blue model paint to paint the needles. The needles now light up blue from the blue LEDs in the gauge face. Hope that makes sense to you. I think I have another video that was shot at night if you want to check it.
monkey wrench is god awful. i took my friends celica gt-t there for tuning and some work. on the way driving the car home which is a 300 mile drive the coils went out when they said they checked them. then his trans blew up and when we went to swap it the impacted everything down. they do not understand torque specs at all. i went through 5 ratchets and 4 breaker bars. and if they didnt impact the bolt down it wasnt tightened at all. that is why monkeywrench is awful. they can tune but thats it.
@kohl2012edwards That's too bad you had a bad experience. MWR was the only place that could get my car up and running properly. I spent thousands on other shops just to end up with it worse than before.
@albertofanel Well it took three shops across two countries to get it done. It cost me probably 3-4K but it should be half of that if you find a shop who has a clue in the first place. Matt at Monkeywrench Racing in Detroit finally got it done right.
Greetings 00gtshope, I was wondering if this was a custom install by you, or a kit? If so what kit did you use? I just rebuilt my engine myself, and I am planning on installing turbo for my engine real soon. I have a 00' GT though. :) Any suggestions or warnings would be awesome! :)
@Surakusa It was originally a C2 turbo kit but then had a bunch of extras added to it like custom exhaust, gauges, PowerFC ECU etc. The GT and GTS are such different machines, I don't have any help for you on that one besides to take it to Monkeywrench Racing in Detroit if you have the ability to. Matt fixed it up beautifully after three other shops wasted thousands of my dollars!
I miss my Celica... a freaking illegal Mexican driving a Chevy s10 ran a red light and totaled my baby. Just a testament to Toyota, with 170,000 on my 04, I still received $9800 from my insurance company. Mind you I did total my expensive rims and stereo equipment(radio,speakers,monitor got wet from rain after the accident) minus the subs and amps(took those) but that only accounts for about $1300.

I had the GT-S with the ground effect package and the large spoiler in silver. I would have taken any color but red but I never found any except the plain old every day Celica. Ended up getting an 09 Subaru WRX, so the pain subsided. 265hp, 223.5awhp, 13.3 pounds of boost, doing 0-60 in 4.8sec. I miss my baby, but this was an upgrade.
@lor3nzod Don't know what country you are in but in North America they are very different. Different engines, different tranny options like 6 speed in GTS and better brakes in GTS etc.

Not really about boost, More on the tune and the gain. The guys from MWR run 410whp on stock internals. Although the very least you could do are pistons and bearings at that level. :)
im currently running 18psi on a garret gt3076r with 9:1 malie pistons mwr rods stock injectors 255 fuel pump port and polished head stock cams stock head gasket apexi power fc with aem electronic boost controller and aem air fuel ratio aem fuel pressure regulator arp head studs rod bolts and mwr main bearings and rod bearings upgraded ring an pinion jubu racing gear third and forth and im putting 350 to the wheels at 265lbs of touque running rich its a beast these engines are made for turbos
man i love the celica, but i hear a pinging, do you run premium in it? or is it just some noise from the way the cameras sitting? The gt-s is a high compression engine so the little puppy demands premium :/

Solder blue ones? niiiice. You said you have 3" exhaust system, why? In turbo magazines they say 2.5" can handle 300 horses without too much back pressure, but you did say the car ran very well so I'll assume valves aren't bent. Car looks very freakin' nice.
@aworkingman Thanks. I did a lot of reading before putting on the turbo and every shop that had boosted GT-Ss said that 3" was basically a necessity so I went with it. Not a big price difference between 2.5 and 3".
@mrkickeratlive Not if you are going with low boost. Mine runs 5 psi on low and 8psi on High. Has been running great for years, including passing emission tests etc.. with a 3" stainless steel exhaust with high flow cat.

uhmm i dont thing theres a celica wit a turbo or a compressor guys....i live in greece and grew up in the states...this celica never had turbos or compressors...theres one 1.8 143hp and the gts with the 192hp...and the gts goes up to like 8000rps if imnot mistakin...the stock one wit the 143 goes up to 6500 rpms....i never had one but i really do think they never had compressors....atleast i never saw one!!
@TheAccountjuh someone must have made up a story about compressor and you believed in it. toyota did not make any VII gen celica with compressor, nor turbo (for any markets). there are however aftermarket compressor sets but most of celicas are n/a.
@TheAccountjuh no i don't have gt-s i have gt turbo but that's irrelevant. the thing that kicks in is not the compressor!!! it's called LIFT and ... well i won't explain it to you cause i don't have technician knowledge but your dad's engine is naturally aspirated, there's no compressor in it! btw. compressor works from like 2k rpm if you would have one. if you want to know a thing or two about celica go to newcelica (dot) org
yo i have a 94 celica gt with the 2.2l 5spd where is the best place to find cheep aftermarket parts? I already have a short ram cai and a full stainless exaust but i want more power its not fast enough. Do you also have any ideas what else i can do for cheep hp?
@00gtshope i think what the guy ment was, putting the gauges on pillar is played out, but i think it looks ok. I am in the process of installing 2 gauges in front of the clock. hope it'll come up nicely. I'll upload a video of it once it's done.
I'm sure this guy doesn't have to rely on a car to get action. Everything looks top notch on this build, nice car man. Gauges are done right and look good.
Got it tuned perfectly at Monkey Wrench Racing in Detroit. They did a great job installed a few more things and tuning it for me. Highly recommend MWR.

yo i have a 94 celica gt with the 2.2l 5spd where is the best place to find cheep aftermarket parts? I already have a short ram cai and a full stainless exaust but i want more power its not fast enough. Do you also have any ideas what else i can do for cheep hp?

I know, I still love the car and I'm 30 now! Had it for ten yrs and only drive it maybe ten times a year. Drive the more practical cars daily.

@00gtshope i think what the guy ment was, putting the gauges on pillar is played out, but i think it looks ok. I am in the process of installing 2 gauges in front of the clock. hope it'll come up nicely. I'll upload a video of it once it's done.

Got it tuned perfectly at Monkey Wrench Racing in Detroit. They did a great job installed a few more things and tuning it for me. Highly recommend MWR.
