@SuperMsfulifyable100 I don't even speak German and I understood most of what you said. It must be because English and German are somewhat similar to each other.
i've never seen apple pie made this way, especially without a top crust. looks more like a tart. kinda strange, really. i'm sure it tastes great though.
Have you tried with Bramley apples? Do you think they would work as well? More cooking tutorials, Julia, they really are great. In the UK we also use Imperial as well as Metric. You think you can give things in gas mark as well? If it's no trouble. I can always look it on a converter.
This is an amazing recipe, and I always loved apple pie :) but I made it by adding a little teaspoon of cinnamon powder for an apple cinnamony taste! Thanks for sharing this recipe!
Apple peeler? Corer? Slicer? Wow. I just knew of a knife. This is so good. I love your channel. Cannot cook really well, but this is too tempting. I will TRY. haha. (:
Hey Julia! Please do more cooking tutorials either on this channel or your third shift channel! I'm enjoying these so much just like I love your makeup/vlog videos! I'd love to try making something Swiss or German! :) Michele
the dough that you used as the base, is it phyllo dough? if not, what kind of dough did you use? if you have the brand name, please let me know. thanks for a nice and very easy recipe.
If any ones made this pie can you please reply to this comment and tell me what you thought about it and how you would rate it or even make it again?:D
I made this and it was fantatic! Made it with apples & peaches, and topped it off with a crumb topping. Thanks for sharing it was incredible! My husband and friends are still talking about it. Will make it again soon.
@muamilanitaly You need to cook the sugar and butter mix for a bit longer so it thickens up. Otherwise, toss your fruit with 1 tablespoon of flour before putting it in the pie crust, it will thicken the juices while baking.
@muamilanitaly you might want to add 1to 2 tbsp of flour to the wet mixture you are pouring over the fruit. you would have to add the flour to the wet mixture before it gets hot so that it doesnt clump up, this looks horrible. Flour thickens everything & so does cornstarch. Used to own my own restraurant & learned this early. Hope it helps!
@muamilanitaly Cook the sugar mix to the point that it looks like snickers caramel. When the pie is in the oven the caramel will mix with the apple's juice and it will be perfect!
AGGHHH! Mine came out too soupy. I think the sauce yielded a larger quantity than I needed. If I try it again, I won't use all the sauce. Otherwise, the flavor was delicious.
Wow this looks wonderful! My boyfriend's birthday is coming up and I was planning on baking him a cake but this looks much prettier, fresh, and delicious! (I'm terrible at frosting cakes anyway! ^ ^)
Oh man... I just made this pie tonight (half apple, half rhubarb from my mom's garden) and it was amazing! So juicy and not overly sweet, just the right mix~ Everyone loved it.
Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I made this for my husband this evening and it came out beautifully! It is SO simple and it comes out looking like I spent a lot of time and effort on it (not the case!) Thank you again!!
if you were to put the lattice crust on or just a normal pie crust would you still keep the caramelized substance in the pie? i'm assuming you would. would you suggest putting it over the crust as well?
I will definitely try this pie, i love apple pies. Also, just wanted to let you know that I purchased those Vintage Vixen Nail polishes from Head2ToeBeauty and they are so beautiful. Thank you for doing that nail tutorial. Keep up the work, Julia "Child", lol

I make a very similar dish with my Opa when I go to his house!
He's also big on baking with plums.
He puts vinegar in like all of his cooking-he pickles anything that can possibly be pickled because that's how his Mutti taught him to cook. :)

what's the difference between a tarte and a pie?
Audreyyyy4 1 year ago
@Audreyyyy4
typically, type of pan used, the ratio of ingredients... one goes great with ice cream the other goes even better with coffee...
typically :)
AnimePRFury 1 year ago
@Audreyyyy4 also the pie is more thicker & mostly it comes with a covered dow on the top
while the tart is thin & with no dow covering the top :)
