  • 0:42 LOOOOOOOOOL CUTE

  • Wow this video is Ultra HD or what?

  • cougar=leelouch from 'code geass'

  • 0:31 edward elric

  • I love big cat rescue..

  • Thats some cute as shit kittens.

  • they are awesome. and dangerous when they want to be.

  • mountain lions are also known as catamounts and can't roar. they make a sort of shriek/yowl sound.

  • Hello. I love your channel. Please have a look at this link... Can it be legal, can't it? It's not nice to look at (I can't embed the link, just search "Mountain Lion Hunting Mick Chapel )

It's really really sad to see that happening in the USA today... Could any action be taken against actions like these? I mean... these people should be hunted down!

  • @vaderhausen Yes, it's still legal, you can write to your state representatives and voice your opinion on the matter, please visit CatLaws*com for contact info :)

  • Just today a little 4 year old boy got attacked by a mountain lion in big bear and his father had to stab the puma off... Little boys face was ripped in 4-5 places but survived...

  • ... pumas in lat am are called pumas or mountain cat... not "el leon" ( awfully pronounced by the way)

  • Puma concolor is a magnificent cat. It can take down prey up to about 10 times its own weight. It is about 80% efficient against its preferred prey, deer. Comments to the effect that they will eat people are pretty much wrong, although like any wild animal, they should be respected with a wide berth, giving a cat an escape route. Oragnizations such as Big Cat Rescue, Mountain Lion Foundation, Cougar Fund, and so on, deserve your support if we are to keep these apex consumers from extinction.

  • A more scientific view states:

“Low levels of confirmed interactions coupled with exceedingly low interaction rates calls into question the validity of management decisions based on interaction reports while suggesting the perceived level of risk from cougars in residential areas disproportionally exceeds actual risk.” (University of Washington (2010) Cougar Ecology, Behavior, and Interactions with People in a Wildland-Urban Environment in Western Washington, Brian N. Kertson, Abstract)

  • President Theodore Roosevelt, no stranger to hunting, wrote:

“It is true, as I have said, that a cougar will follow a man; but then a weasel will sometimes do the same thing. Whatever the cougar's motive, it is certain that in the immense majority of cases there is not the slightest danger of his attacking the man he follows.” (BiblioBazaar (2009) The Roosevelt Book: Selections from the Writings of Theodore Roosevelt, p 183)

  • fucking annoying in red dead redemption JUST SAYING!

  • Beautiful Pictures of Cougars, Goggle Search: Cougar Scienceray

  • Strange how some instincts still remain heavily in humans. Whenever I watch a video like this I always seem to get a twinge at the back of my neck/shoulders, I can definitely imagine, vividly, having to defend myself from one of these big cats in the wild. To be honest it would be an honour, they're beautiful, majestic and powerful. Please keep doing the work you're doing. : )

  • i have a cugar in my bed but not the feline kind

  • cougars have been spotted in our middle school. we even saw bears!

  • These kids are missinformed,we have cougars in MN

  • @bowtechspeedfreak I have seen one in northern indiana. I have plaster paw cast of the cat. first time saw in 1971 the last time was 1992..

  • pretty cat. hope I NEVER meet one.

  • NEED ANOTHERE BEER/e?!???

  • OMG DAT JAWN BE PLAYINNN WIT HIS FOFOODZZZ

  • DIS MUSIC IS NOT FITTING FOR COUGARZ U DUMB ASS

  • where can i get a cougar, and how much would it cost?

  • Well i dont live in the woods you fool

  • You have your left fist under your neck.

  • I'm thinking of the other cougar

  • Yeah, the people who founded my town messed up; They chased off and killed almost all of the mountain lions in the area, thus causing the coyote population to increase. So what did they do? They did the same thing to the coyotes, except the coyotes are still more common in the area than mountain lions, and now the population of deer has shot up. In other words, my town's founders royally screwed over an entire ecosystem.

  • I lived in Califronia for 15 years, where 3,000 cougars live, yet I've never seen one in the wild.

  • I saw one two years ago when deer hunting (I'm from MN). It took down a deer. Scariest thing I've ever been around.

  • my left ear liked this video

  • @Mosse222 Yep, live and learn! :)

  • @BigCatRescue

What's the joke here? Why left ear?

    Awesome video. :)

  • 1:57 has a limp in one of the front legs. Is it the left one?

Hope it doesnt hurt the poor thing!

  • @evanescencedragon Well spotted! That was Tobi a female cougars, she's 19 years old and is one of our cats we supplement with glucosamine because of her stiff joints :)

  • @BigCatRescue I see, I hope she goes well in life

  • your so beautiful!

  • Pause at 0:29 LOL!

  • they forgot to mention that the female cougars habitat is usually a modern nightclub whereby they stock males that are half their age. i was stocked by one once. it was scary.

  • She forgot that the cougar makes a screaming noise.

  • i reckon a strong man could probably kill a cougar if it didnt get the drop on him.

  • I'm pretty sure I saw a cougar the other day near the end of a (solo) backpacking trip. It was 200+ yards out, crossing the road I was hiking out on. I shouted, she stopped and looked at me, and then kept on walking, into the woods. She was about the same color as the cat at 0:14, and I'm pretty sure I saw a big, fat tail that reached about to the ground. I spent the remaining 2 1/2 miles of my hike constantly looking over my shoulder and thinking about what I'd do if I was on the menu ...

  • @Zoidberg227 Cool and scary!

  • @BigCatRescue My teacher was checking out a spot where he was going to go elk hunting and he kept finding cougar tracks behind him, but he didn't hear or see anything.

  • @BigCatRescue i thought they made a loud scream/yowl sound which they are famous for

  • @BigCatRescue bears can go to hell bigcats rule

  • @Zoidberg227 cool story bro

  • ahhahha the kittens walk so cutely

  • Hunter's suck.

  • I half expected to see John Marston trying to knife them

  • I saw a big one in Big Bend park in Texas.

  • thumps up if youre here because of cougars in red dead redemption

  • In the red dead redemption i kill 10886 cougars

  • How you hunt these lovely cats?

I'm so sick of the justification being that they harm livestock.

Its not like I eat meat so what the hell do I care? You're in THEIR territory. YOU go.

  • 1:50 does this cougar have some arthritus in its paw?

  • @yutzy1 Well spotted! That is Tobi one of the oldest cougars we have, we supplement the cats that are stiff with glucosamine daily to help them out :)

  • these cats are beautyful.in some states it is illegal to hunt them

  • dont look in the eyes

  • I WOULD LIKE TO SEE SO HUNTER TRY TO HUNT MY CAT I WOULD KILL THEM SO FAST JUST TRY ME I LOVE MY CAT

  • AWWWWW I WANT TO SEE ONE

  • I love big cats.

  • can't stop pressing 4 lol "looong neck"

  • gougars are sooooo beautiful animals.

  • So what I got out of this video in no specific order was:

    1. Cougars are bad ass animals.

    2. a girl felt up another girl at 2:17

    3. at 47 sec "females are also well known for their strange noises they make when their in heat" Sounds like any woman I ever knew.

    Good video

  • And cougars are Beautifull Cats i hope to see a cougar someday!!!

  • @MUSIC200756 me too!!!!!!!

  • @MUSIC200756 you'll die :(

  • @MUSIC200756 carefull what you wish for because if it sees you in the woods it will kill your weak human ass

  • There has been Cougar sightings in parts of australia, but nothing has been confirmed. Refer Big cats Australia.

  • Great Video, very informative :)

Cougars may be vicious lol but they are still my faveourite animal :)

  • It melts my heart when they purr :')

  • Do they taste good?

  • when do they chirp, hiss purr?

  • @brocolims They do this amongst themselves and to certain keepers they like :)

  • 2:39

  • I think someone should chase the HUNTERS into a tree and casually shoot at him (or her.)

  • Stunningly gorgeous eyes at 1:22. Just wow, big cats are just so freaking awesome.

  • 3:18. The parents must have some genetic inclination to blue eye color, and probably the frequency of light, that brings out an evolved passivity. Awesome.

  • If courgars are lesser, what are domesticated?

  • awsome

  • That map is wrong! Theres tons of them here in nebraska.

  • Pause @ 0:29

    "CHEEEZBURGER?!"

  • Thanks for giving your interns a voice.

  • Do you know where I can get a baby Cougar? Oh by the way do baby big cats drink milk, cause I do want a 4 week old baby Cougar, and bottle feed it.

  • There's a problem with the audio on this, it seems the voice track is only on the left-side of stereo, while the music is fine. Probably didn't check-mark the stereo box during rendering in post-production.

(Just thought you should know, it's slightly annoying for ear-phone wearers)

  • I wish I could love on those putty's But they'd kill my ars!!

  • Omg! soo kuhte!

  • Cougars make horrible pets. I let mine go at the park to run around and it never came back!

  • @thevigilanteatheist wow, I've never heard that one before!

  • @BigCatRescue I read in the guiness record book that it has like 150 names i think not sure :s

  • I loved seeing this video.

  • from house cats to tigers i love them all

  • Oh I bet it sounds scary to hear a couger in heat. But they're so pretty

  • lotta milfs in captivity

  • aawww man I also wanna work there

  • 4:15 Im gonna eatchu

  • They need to give them back their land, They are so beautiful. I dont want them to go extinct :((

  • Great video to encourage other children to learn about this species and with that knowledge contribute to preserving it in the wild. Thank you for posting it.

  • Ohh okey. Maybe it's only for me but i can't hear peapole speaking something bad with sound in all your videos. Maybe because I live in europe?

Im verry happy that you all doing such wonderful deeds. I love these kind of animals.

  • Wait is that a cat 2:31

  • @koreazaz No it was a rabbit, once a week we give our cats whole prey (already dead) like rabbits to the larger cats and rats to the smaller species :)

  • There are cougar's in Michigan... why is that not in this?

  • this isn't true, i have mountain lions where i live, and i live in maine, which is the farthest to the east, so its not just in the west.

  • watch my monkey swim

  • They're beautiful...!

    Keep up the excellent work!

  • Cougars are so beautiful and their kittens are adorable! I really enjoy the big cat series! Thanks so much for posting. This is so interesting!

  • I saw the map of the cougar's path in the video..I live in BC Of Canada and there is mabye a few cougars, but there is

  • This is a wonderful educational film dedicated to the Puma. Thank you all so much. Very informative, with superb film footage!

  • Great video. What a beautiful animal

  • Such beauties! I'd love to work with big cats!!! I just uploaded a video about my kitty on my page! :)

  • The cougar's eyes at 1:24 were so pretty. :o Green~

  • Beautiful cat =^..^=

  • Very informative. I live in cougar country. You will see their foot prints everywhere, but it's possible to live your entire life without actually seeing one. Hence their other name. Ghost of the Rockies.

  • Love the cougar, its my favorite of all feline species, love them!

  • cool :3

  • I wonder why big cats aren't more literate then with that there hyoid bone since it's a critical difference between us and our predecessors in the language department.

    *took archaeology classes for major*

  • You are magnificent people.

  • All these cougars remind me of my dimestic cat! lol same characteristics and habits.

  • thank you for this information, i never knew this.(:

  • 5 star video!!! Informative, entertaining - visually and audibly. Heck, I could almost smell the cats! You kids did a great job! (;^)

  • That's funny. All cats can hiss.

    Especially mine.

She hisses more than she purrs, but she sounds like motor when she purrs. The loudest purr I ever heard.

My former husband used to call her rumble-cat.

  • Cool big cat :}

  • They are noble animals. I was stalked by one once while climbing in the Black canyon of Gunnison. I saw the cat four times over several hours and it was closer each time. I have to admit it got me nervous.

  • Where'd you get those adorable cougar kittens?

We have a hyoid bone in our neck. I wonder why WE can't roar?

I'm serious. I'm a paramedic, and I know we have a hyoid bone. When we learning how to perform a proper cricothyrotomy, the doctor mentioned the hyoid bone as one of the ways to find the cricoid cartilage. It's below the hyoid.

  • @vickiormindyb The cougar kittens are Aries, Artemis and Orion they were rescued after their mum was shot and killed by a hunter, we raised them and provided them with a home for the rest of their lives :)

  • @vickiormindyb,

You are mistaken - humans CAN roar. At least human males can, especially when they step on a gooey hairball in the middle of the night. While barefoot. (;^)

  • @vickiormindyb About the hyoid bone, everything depends on the way it's held in the throat. If this bone is held tightly, like in our or lesser cats case, there's no way to roar. The Panthera (lions, pnthers, jaguars, tigers) can because their hyoid bone is held more loosely.

  • Such beautiful animals, why anyone would want to kill an animal for fun is beyond me.

  • Nice video! I really liked it! :3

Can someone tell me what does the speaker say from 3:38 to 3:50 ? I understand she's talking about the cougar hunting and the numbers of the cougars killed, but I don't speak english well and for me she speaks to fast in that point :( Thank you very much!

  • @cricricricricricri 900 or so cougars were killed in ten western states in 1982 and by the early 2000's this number had tripled :(

  • They make the same noises my cat makes =) She's a bobcat/domestic cat mix. Normally I wouldn't keep a cat like her but she had been hit by a car when I found her and after taking her to the vet and taking care of her until she was healed she became just as attached to me as I was to her. She wouldn't leave when I tried to release her in the woods, so I kept her. Big cats should never be pets but honestly, she's been a great companion for 5 years now, even gets along with my other cat and my dogs

  • Cougars are beautiful Cats. I hate how people kill them just for sport, its sick and wrong.

  • hunting these beautiful animals for sport should be illegal

  • I agree with Erato -- a wonderful video, very informative for any who seek to know. The leopard & especially the Florida panther have always been my most beloved of the big cats. Thank you for doing everything you do to protect them & get the word out on their behalf. We must change the laws to truly save them.

  • 2:30

    Made me LOL.

  • Cougars are awesome!

  • 3:05 THE FLUFFINESS! I love it!

  • I'm so happy BCR helps to take care of big cats that could go extincted (sorry for wrong spelling) any year. A lot of humans only care for themselves, ehich to me means killing for amusement, eating rare animals of a reason that doesn't exist and other things like polluting the whole place. Poor cats.... Really happy that you guys aren't like that :)

  • I just love and look forward to your video! <3

  • @IWUSkittles THANKS!

  • Awesome video, but I used to live in Nova Scotia in Canadas east coast and have heard of cougars being spotted, can courgars live in more places then just what was shown on the map?

  • They are similar to one of the "large cats" in that the Cheetah can't roar either, but can purr like the cougar as opposed to the lion.

  • i hope cats go to heaven!!! :)

  • pause at 2:38 hahhahahhahaha

  • @DooDooSwag what does ur name mean lolololol

  • @TOONERTOWN hahaha i have swag...but its doo doo swag

  • I love cougars! I like how they purr. ^_^

  • great vid....

  • Does anyone know if the Florida Panther is considered a Cougar, or is just a subspecies?

  • @Compr3ss There's constant debate over this, basically they're the same cat, I might need to research this myself!

  • @BigCatRescue Thank you for answering me, I really appreciate it. You guys are awesome.

  • grreat video!!

  • These cats look pretty kind, you don't have any that will let you touch them?

They are all beautiful i love big cats, more of a fond for wolves though.

  • @LonelyWolfesss No we don't have contact with any of our cats :)

  • Do cheetahs roar too? Or are they considered lesser cats? And you do guys have any cheetahs?

    Great video by the way!

  • @crapwad17 I don't believe so, we don't have any cheetahs at BCR :) Thanks for watching!

  • to bad that people have to over hunt animals to the point of extinction !! we seem to be more dangerous then any animal twenty attacks on humans and 900 on cougars , now anyone can see the bigger number , thanks for sharing this video laws yes they prevent things like hunting animals but not 100 percent, knowledge however does help your cause because once you educate someone they can pass the knowledge on > its preety interesting how there so much like domestic cats.

  • Sorry to say, but the 'American Lion' term has already been given to Panthera Atrox, an extinct species bigger than the Sabertoothed cat and more closely related to the Jaguar. Has the name actually been used in the past by others referring to the Cougar or was it just thrown in randomly? Either way, I love cougars... and Clouded Leopards... and Jaguars... and Tigers... and... every other cat in existance. XD

  • Thank you so much for sharing! And the kids presenting this awesome. I really liked the kids playing a cougar and prey. I thought was cute! Now you said you would see my cats and rescues that I have done. Would you please give me a chance! =^.^=

  • i always thought that lions could purr but hay I guess you learn something new every day

  • I wish i could help them but i cant even donate money bcuzz......well have no money :(..i love all animals and want to help all of em and i will try

  • thats some really good information

    thanksss

  • this blonde is in heat..

  • My dad had a close encounter with a Florida Panther in Gainesville, FL.

  • You do an amazing job. Really hope you enjoy your job, I would :P

  • @Prohunter93 Thanks and yeah I do, I'm lucky :)

  • Even cougars are mostly found in western Canada, but there have been sights spotted in Ontario

  • ma kitties!

  • Grashoppers *blehhhhh* LOL

    Beautiful cats. ♥

  • Thanks for the information, I learned something about the cats I love.

  • i saw a couger in the forest by my house, when i was playing outside, i ran so fast! LmFao
