  • Very good shot of britannia at speed like the detail in the shot look forward to seeing more footage keep up the good work!!

  • @111672balernabz Thank you for your comment. I plan to do more even before 2011 goes. Barry

  • Hey, great video! Nice to see 70000 steaming though. She looks great! West Horndon definently looks like the spot for quite filming. Oh and, I can confirm that she did indeed get mobbed at Upminster! Thanks for showing her at speed!

  • @flydando Thanks. Glad you liked it. Barry

  • Hi Barry - thks for taking the time to make your encouraging comments, much appreciated.

I heard over the PA at Upminster that the train was 31 mins late not the 30 you mentioned.

There are so many people taking great videos of trains in stations and long distance shots that I prefer to be a bit different and go for the sounds and atmosphere created by loud steam engines pulling great long trains and that cutting was perfect.

  • @klordger1900 No problem. Barry

  • Good video, shame about the guy not getting the whistle he wanted lol. Was thinking of filming Britannia at speed at Dagenham Heathway, but she was originally scheduled to stop at Barking and I wanted some photos...then she did not stop...

  • @ginga2101 Well the driver couldn't see him unfortunately. Interesting. I didn't know they'd cut out the Barking stop. That explains how some of the time was recovered. Barry

  • Nice footage. Very well captured. I caught Brit at Woodgrange park after an earlier wild goose chase to Shoeburyness and Thorpe bay !

  • @gordonthegoat Thanks Gordon, It's a good spot there with the gentle curve. Barry

  • Excellent shot, the man on the platform's attempt to get her to whistle went unheeded though :)

I often wonder what people think who have just turned up on a normal boring day to catch their boring train and see this snorting beast powering through, they must think they have been time-warped, or are observinbg of a Harry Potter shoot.

    Great stuff

  • @wobbler44 To be honest at a quiet country place like West Horndon most of the people were not C2C passengers. Barry

  • Well done, Barry. I saw her at South Tottenham in the morning and then at Blackhorse Road in the evening.

  • @SatNavDan I look forward to seeing your clips. Barry

  • Great vid. I was on the train. A great day out. A previous West Horndon video from the August Southend-Salisbury run was one of my favourites. Definitely one of the best places to video from.

  • @sexyjw2 Thanks for the comment. Glad you enjoyed my film and the trip. The previous August video might have been by my son, skendler5. Barry

  • Excellent work, thanks for posting.

  • @jason78969 Thanks for that. Glad you enjoyed it. Barry

  • nice, good shot of britannia going well

  • @alanthorn481 Thanks Alan, Trying to recover the 30 minutes lost at Southend. Barry

  • great video. you got a good shot on her there. I saw the other britannia class, 70013 'Oliver Cromwell' 4 times!

  • @DotsandTom Hiya Tom, Thanks. I look forward to seeing your film of Ollie. I really like both the Brits. That's it for Britannia for this year. Barry

  • Excellent shot Barry of 70000 at speed.

  • @EMuksteam Thanks EM. Brit trying to recover the 30 minutes lost at the start. Barry

  • Cracking shot Barry 70000 was going well there.

    JamesandPeter

  • @JamesandPeter Thanks. Yes, trying to make up the 30 minutes lost at the start. Barry

  • Oh why does it only go at 5 mph in my video?

  • @KINGANDCASTLE I haven't see any vids of Brit yesterday. Where were you or, was it a signal problem? Barry

  • @bkendlerA4 I was at Virginia Water. I think "leaves on line" might be the cause.

  • excellent filming and sound !.

  • @lvgauge1 Thanks for the comment. Much appreciated. barry

  • My kind of shot....GREAT.....Colin

  • @MrHosepipe123 Hiya Colin, I agree. Not all like the quick shots but to me they are what steam is about. The sound and rush of a steam engine at speed with the rods whizzing around. Great. Barry

  • Lovely shot Barry. She was certainly going for it!

  • @cmeonthemove She was. Trying to recover the 30 minutes lost in leaving Southend-on-Sea-Central Barry

  • Excellent video, thanks.

  • @dickeramb Thanks for the comment. Barry

  • Cracking shot Barry, Britannia looked to be going well.

    Cheers Phil.

  • @981smithy Hiya Phil, Yes she was going. Trying to make up the lost time. Apparently thanks to a very helpful station manager at West Horndon she didn't leave Southend-on-Sea-Central on time. She left 31 minutes late. Barry

  • Great vid, cheers.

  • @MEKAYJIMMYNATHE Thanks for the comment. Barry

  • Absolutely superb Barry, 70000 just sounds so good at the minute - a shame that she isn't running anymore on the mainline this year. I'll miss the BR unlined black livery, personally i think it looks excellent - BR Brunswick won't do it justice me thinks! I caught her in Winchester and at Eastleigh, will upload those shots with clips from 34067 tomorrow. James at SVN

  • @NwsNoaaChaser Look forward to your clips. I'll miss Brit in Black although Brit in Brunswick Green is how I remember her at bethnal green in the 1950's. Barry

  • nice catch, lovely loco!

  • @34002salisbury Thanks. I agree with you. I think that's the last time we'll see Brit in black. Barry

  • Great action shot, Barry. (I see you've got rid of all the annoying stills photographers!)

  • @jrdaddykins Yes. My experience at CLJ on Friday put me off going to Upminster. Barry

  • Hi Barry a nice location with Britannia putting on a fine show at speed. Thanks for sharing the clip.Regards Dave.

  • @TheSteamchest Thanks Dave. I originally intended to film at Upminster which would have been a departure shot. Glad I changed my mind. Barry

  • Great video, 5*

  • @itfcsam Thank you. Much appreciated. Barry

  • Great video Barry she was really going

  • @ffeog4568 Thanks Geoff, She made a fine sight. They have to shift along the C2C line. There are no passing points between Pitsea and Barking except Laindon.
