I love the melody in this song, it's profound, soaring, and atmospheric and more challenging to play accurately than most would give it credit for...and his guitar sound is amazing in both clean channel mode and high gain lead. I have sustainiacs in 3 guitars and I try and use them as artfully as neal does. in my personal top 5 favorite guitarists ever...up there with Howe, Lynch, Lane, Petrucci, Satriani...etc.

Lane is just immeasurable in so many ways. God obviously needed him badly elsewhere, perhaps another universe in more pain than even ours. But Neal's stuff, especially his solo work, really details his amazing sense of melody.

Neal has and always been a part of my life, with Journey or by by himself,no one plays like him, and it is real music,no screaming singer.Love love it...He is the reason I play to this day..as a little kid listning to Santana and now to I On You, 4 ever instilled.SCHON FOR EVER.....Thanks for the posting...
