  • That was hot

  • awesome!

  • Disregard below comment. I just read the description :P

  • Bravo guys. I've been wanting to do this myself for a while. What program do you use for the VFX?

  • You know, I've wanted to enter the LCC several times, but then I see things like this and realize just how much I will never win.

  • thumbs up if you like his face at 5:44

  • I liked this video, I thought it was well thought out and executed, fun to watch.

  • 4:37 - Are those punches meant to be telekinetic "Force punches"?

  • some sound effects would be nice.

  • Guys.. honestly..this is... horrific...-ally epic

  • no sound? wtf?

  • the force is strong with these ones

  • Lolz not to be a killjoy but the barrage of mounted punches at roughly 4:40 would have left that guys face looking like an apple that had fallen on the ground about 1000 times

  • @CaptainArn he's a jedi!

  • wow, they where dueling all day, didn't even see the timelaps.

  • Nice fight, this deserved to win. Also, I've been to Marietta, it's a nice city.

  • Bloody brilliant.

This is the best choreographed lightsaber battle that I have seen in a while.

I LOVED the bad guy. He made a great Sith character; his cruelty was definitely Sith qualified. XD

I applaud this work and am VERY anxious for the final product.

  • @Kadaju16 hey they made another one for lcc 9!

  • No lightsaber sound effects?

  • great vid man. one of the best ive seen. lots of unique uses of terrain and force abilities as well as some good old fashioned lightsaber combat. well deserved winning video. hope to see more from you in the future.

  • Very energetic fight. I would definitely say it ranks up there with Ryan and Dorkman. I noticed a few small errors, but nothing nearly large enough to detract from the video. Very good choreography. Not sure I would have had a prolonged fight in an alleyway and the car bit seemed a little forced, but still an outstanding piece of work.

  • entertaining....wish there had been blood though

  • Are you going to add sound effects? If you are not, i would be happy to add them for you for free.

  • Fantastic, I'm looking forward to the sound version. Just one question please:

Is there not a problem with copyright issues regarding the use of Star Wars music? I've been wanting to create a lightsaber choreography for ages, but the copyright of the music has always been holding me at bay. How come some videos get banned while others (such as this) are not taken down?

  • @Surakemastura cuz this is dope son!!!

  • Yeah, I'm glad this won LCC8. Some of the other entries were good, but for me, this gets the gold =D

It looks like a lot of time and effort wet into the Choreography, and it definitely paid off. Two thumbs up for everyone that worked on this.

Also, I'm just curious; About how long (measured in inches) are the stunt blades on your props? If you have the time, please respond =)

  • thats in insane. Loved it[K]

  • this is very awesome! i thought it was great!

  • The world's greatest(aside from the music)silent lightsaber fight.

  • what did you use to make the box fly? or was the whole box jsut CGI

  • what did you use to make the boxfly? or was the whole box jsut CGI

  • @whiteley79 thank you for a civil response and for respecting my right to an opinion(a rare thing on the Internet).I personally prefer very fast intricate choreo. I also like a fight that is faster and more intense(yep I said it) with more blade on blade contact and a lot of parrying. Just a preference. I'm glad that you guys won and hope to see more work.

  • @donpstar I don't know if I can agree with you on that. Watching the alley fight sequence in this as well as the end section before the docks this fight seems pretty intense. As for the speed of the moves, I don't really so how they could get much faster.

If your strictly comparing this to Art of the Saber and the RVD series there are parts in all three that are better than others. But for intense and speed I think this holds right up there with those fights as well.

  • @Atopgun007 I'm saying the fight as a whole is good but the actual lightsaber on lightsaber choreography wasn't good.

  • @donpstar Obviously I disagree very, very much, but thanks for your opinion. I'd be curious as to what exactly you though the lightsaber choreography failed in, as it won a lightsaber choreography contest. Judged, among others, by Ryan and Dorkman (who you say we don't measure up to) and who both appluaded it. You can see the video of the judging here on youtube: /watch?v=2KQJ96icWTM&feature=related

  • @whiteley79 Everyone on the internet are a bunch of critics and haters, yet what have they done to contribute to the art or put themselves out there? Great job. I can appreciate the time and skills that went into this.

    Cheers

  • Not bad but after watching nearly every lightsaber fight I could find, I can honestly say that none have measured up to Art of Saber and Ryan vs Dorkman. It's all about the choreo.

  • @donpstar So your saying you don't like the choreography in this fight?

  • OMGWTFBBQ!!!!!!

    This fight is amazing!!!!

  • the most amazing lightsaber fan vid ive ever seen

  • 951 viewsa, man is by far better that Ryan vs Dorkman 2, so far i have watched many dueal, better that Ryan vs Dorkman series, i cant belive people belive those are the best ones.

  • Excellent saber film! Hope you have time to release a full sfx version of this. It really rocks though! Great timing and pace the whole way through.

  • sound???? its good but sound missing :(

  • impressive

  • hahahah, nice work, Whiteley! :) I liked the "mind trick the car guy" thing, that was hilarious!

Also, you can really see that you storyboarded and/or planned out your shots very specifically. The only beef I could bring up might be the sort of "timing" of certain shots, that is to say... sometimes the time in which it takes fighter X to "escape" an attack seemed pretty big (hard to explain)... but SO WHAT?! This is a fantasy film, and it was a lot of work, great job! :)

    --Novastar

  • why do the good guys always win?

  • Nice choreography, a lot of idea and little things which make your fight unique and deep. It's a long fight but u kept me awake and interested till the end!

I regret just one thing: the sound. No light saber sound, no sound effect, no breath sound, no step sound...I don't know if u had some direction for the competition but every sound effect are important for dynamic and strength of every punch, for the rhythm..

    good job!

  • @Arx13 We didn't have a finished edit untill 6 days before the competition deadline, and those were used to get the effects done. Sound, an updated score, finished effects, and other such things will be done for a final edition.

  • Comment removed

  • @whiteley79 Ohh okay I got it. I suspected sthg like that... Can't wait for the latest edition so!! be sure to let me know. Good job once again !

    florian ARX13

  • @whiteley79 All right, so obviously this video is fuckin amazing. But I see your comment was from 3 months ago. Has an updated version been released yet?

  • Saw it just yesterday. Fantastic job!

  • My review is coming.

  • Awesome job, as always!!!!!

  • Tthis is an amazing duel! The lightsaber work is incredible, but the extra effects are what make this fight!
