  • Awww, reminds me of when I took in a baby robin for a couple of days. I wish now I'd gotten some video footage, but I didn't think about it. I even went to Starbucks the day after I found him and he stayed on my shoulder the whole time I made and waited for my order!

  • beautyfull video..thank you for sharing...

  • thank goodness for good people like you helping they poor guy

  • how did you make the the sugar water red like that? can i just use regular food coloring, or are there chemicles that could be harmful to a hummingbird? I'm asking because there are s lot of hummingbirds aruund my grandmother's house, and I want to try and hand-feed the hummingbirds that are there.

  • God bless you.

  • god bless you for taking the time.... ;)

  • Awe! You are amazing for helping the little thing :) They are so cute ^_^

  • I live in Brampton, Ontario nd one day i was in my room and i looked outside, in my back yard were 3 humming birds drinkning necter from some of our tropical flowers...they were so cute :) -----i tryed to take a picture but by the time i got my camera they were gone :(

  • This is too sweet

  • What are you feeding him?

  • I recently rescued a baby hummingbird. He was hard to feed because his beak was broken, poor little guy.

  • whats the red thing your feeding it

  • @kaitokidmanuel1 its a kind of sugar water im sure

  • so sad!

  • So cute today my lil sister found two of them and they were in risk of falling off their nest but by da time i got there one of em fell off, luckily it survived and da oder one was hanging from its nest so i saved it b4 it fell. The nest was detached from the tree bc it is in a really bad section of the tree so i taped the nest back but its so cold today n i felt bad leaving dem to deir luck so i fed dem and now dey r sleepin here in a nest we made. Tom. im callin animal control.

  • thats awesome :]

  • that is good and good to know

  • why is the food red?

  • aww poor baby

  • aww sweet little guy n_n

im glad he made a full recovery

  • The female was trying to take the web for nesting material. Nice of you to recuse and feed to get her energy back. Um, I'm not sure if you are where but most hummingbird banner do not like to feed hummingbird any red dye since it effect on the bird is known. The sugar water mixture is easy to make. It's just 4 part water to one part sugar.

  • Spider webs are one heck of a strong material to have animals 1000 larger than the spider itself to be stuck in it!

Imagine a man-size spider (shudders), could probably stop a military cargo plane in its track!

Wait... It did stop a speeding train in Spiderman 2!

  • @amazingdany good idea.....hmmmmm

  • this is precious... people are so compassionate to help God's creatures. Blessings to everyone that cares for them , you are special people. peace.

  • Good Job!!!!!!!! Kudos to you for being so kind!

  • did he end up surviving?

  • yes he did and he made one circle around us and flew away

  • @1myrnas AWW THAT IS SO SWEET. :)

  • @1myrnas He was like "Thanks guys! I'm freeee!"

  • @1myrnas sayin thanks I guess

  • @1myrnas then landing and a snake ate him

  • @1myrnas how wonderful.. congratulations.. feeding and rescuing hungry fellow living beings is really one of the few truly meaningful things one can do in one's life... (i'm excluding mosquitoes, cockroaches and other vermins in the "fellow living being"list... :p:p )

  • Wow, beautiful little creatures. ^3^

  • Excellent

  • there are several wonderful books on hummingbirds. they are very interesting but they do need constant nourishment. i love the little guys. we live in the low foothills so we have lots of them. never enough...

  • sorry it is probably too late for our advice . i hope you found other successful folks who have done this too. we just made a simple sugar solution to feed it. we used a small plastic tube that the bird found easily and ate from the tube. hope you were able to save it

  • haha "What a nice birdie bird!"

  • Hummingbirds are absolutely beatiful. :D

  • good work !!

  • why does the mixture have to be red??

  • i only made it red because the humming bird is attracted to bright colors. i knew the bird had been struggling for a long time in very hot weather so i knew it needed something quick. i was trying to attract the bird to the food with the color. it was all i had to work with in the remote foothills we live in

  • whats the point of giving it food coloring??

  • Aww! haha, wicked cute :P:P

  • How sweet that you fed it.I"m glad it lived.

  • aww!

    so nice!

Thats really wonderful how you help the little bird :]

  • bless your hearts!!! that is....jello, right? good choice, i suppose. hope he/she lived! love you.

  • the bird was almost unconscious when we untangled it from a large spider web. we fed it colored sugar water with a small plastic tube from a ball point pen. The bird sat on a stick for about 6 min. and flew to a tree limb and then took one pass by us as a thank you and good bye ..we felt very good

  • I hope it ended up ok in the end.

  • the bird did survive. once it was revived it flew to a nearby tree and took one circle around us ( we wanted to think it was a thank you ) and went on its way

  • did he live?

  • Makes you feel slightly ashamed though. Cause you know you wouldnt pity the spider even if it starved to death. Lol I dont care bout the spider neither xD

  • It's fair because the black widow are harmful to human whereas the hummingbird is prettier.. besides I think you should should care about the spider because they are poisonous.(kill them)

  • Oh yeah, I forgot they were posionous xD

  • I'm really into birds (and am happy to see that this teeny dearie survived) and really not into spiders but i dont think you should kill them. They are part of nature too.

  • that's true

  • I agree that interfering with nature does carry some frightful baggage, but Black Widows are having no problems surviving and in fact, are spreading their range very nicely, while the Humming birds are not having a good time of it these days. And, the B W's do pack an extremely noxious wallop so ridding the area around your home is not only forgivable, IMHO it is fairly wise.

  • He's tiny!

  • what are you feeding it?

  • I'm glad you were able to save the little thing... :) I hope he grew up and flew away knowing he would be able to have a life... :)

  • we simply made a mixture of sugar and water with red food coloring.
