Dr. Klein his dermatologist said after treatment for the burn he had an expanders placed in his scalp so they could cut the burned skin off and see if his hair would grow back on the new skin, thats why he started wearing hats. I would've got hooked on pain killers too if I was him, all that treatment for the burn plus the lupus, surgeries, and vitiligo. Ouch! Michael was a strong man, I couldn't deal with all that.
