  • where do you get your snakes

  • @reptileman9933 That, is not any of your business.

  • Soooo sweet. Very nice to see someone so dedicated to and passionate about their snakes. Absolutely gorgeous little girl.

  • ohhh the baby is soooo cutie <3

  • That sniffling thing he is doing is weirdly cute

  • I remember when mr sniffles was this size. Captured my heart. I've got a long road before I have my own, so for now, your videos keep me satisfied. Beautiful critters <3

  • here is an evolutionary type question for you, what genus of snake came around first, and were they venomous or non venomous, i heard from someone that elapids came from colubrids, but i dont know if thats true

  • @connjamm Here's a revolutionary answer: Look it up for yourself!...something called 'GOOGLE' can be quite useful to find answers to many questions.

  • @viperkeeper ha. ha. thanks for the help

  • @viperkeeper I like your videos, but that response is kinda jerky :(

  • @jnk1291 I suggest you watch my 'rant' videos and you will see just how 'jerky' I can get. I did my own research BEFORE Al Gore invented the internet. I like people to do some work of their own. Sure I can tell him right where to go to find it...but I won't.

I simple don't have the time.

  • @viperkeeper Fair enough.

  • @connjamm Just to throw something into the water here........Boids are the snakes that have been around the longest........Go figure that one out. :-)

  • is this mr.sniffle? or just a baby that acts just like him?

  • @kimmeco2 I can get most Rhino's to sniffle.

  • I've seen you hand-watering your snakes a lot of times, and since they accept it it must be realy good for them and healthy.

I got 2 blood pythons, should I do that to my snakes too? And how often?

  • @Kauleas I have no idea..will not hurt...well except when they bite you.

  • My favourite snake assuming you gotta have some kinda license to be able to keep these?... must atleast fall under DWA not to mention what CITES are they?... I guess i'll stick to videos :P

  • @wattsyboi999 Wrong on all counts

  • @viperkeeper maybe in the US but in the UK i dont think so

  • @BLethal420 Some species I breed, some I don't

  • are you a breeder?

  • fucking fucking great snake!

    i love this!

    good luck with she ;)

  • What do you do about the parasites they come in with?

  • They will kill the snake if it's stressed out...

  • I was hand picking them babies back in 1992 when they came on from Burundie to Ft Lauderdale.

can you guess what shop I was at?

  • I've always said it......You can never, ever have enough Bitis.

They're just so adoreable......Even though a bite will certainly put you on your ass, I hate thinking about Gaboon and Rhino bites.....Eurghhh!

  • SUCH A CUTIE!!!!! I'm going to start hand watering too

  • Hey AL, is this cute little female the one we know as Ituri now? Do you still have the sniffling male? It's hard to follow them all! Very nice footage, BTW.

  • Yes, that's Ituri. The male was sold....

  • where did you buy it

  • It was captive born from some that I imported.

  • What a great video Al, how come I`ve never come across it before under the Viperkeeper listing?

  • I have no idea...

  • gorgeous specimans al

  • "Everybody was looking at me strange, but ovcourse i dont give a shit"

    Well Spoken.

  • Deadly, but adorable! Your rhino vipers are the first snakes that I've ever thought of as "cute". Is it just me, or are these babies more green than Sniffy?

Out of curiosity, how long do baby rhino vipers take to mature into adulthood? I'm always curious to know about this each time I watch a video featuring your babies.

  • Rhinos top out at about 3-4 feet in length.

  • Approximately how much time does it take for them to reach that length?

  • Snakes do most of their growing in the first 3years of life.

  • have you bred him yet?

  • Too young yet..next fall

  • If you could, could you get them hatching :D

I've never seen a Rhino Viper hatch, love your vids!

  • Rhinos don't hatch, they are born live, it's all difficult to catch.

  • You talk to your rhino and i like that

  • is a bite from a baby snake just as deadly as a bite from an older snake?

  • Every bite is different. Since they are physically smaller and have smaller venom glands, it can be said they have smaller amounts of venom to inject. Therefore, depending on species will only have less than a human lethal dose available to use.

  • Needless to say I dont think anyone wants to be known as a connoseur of Rhino viper bite pain samples

  • i noticed that you always try and water your snakes with the use of a pipette. would you recommend using that method with recently acquired snakes? or just on a regular basis with all snakes?

  • I don't recommend that anyone handle their venomous snakes the way I do.

  • oh no, i don't own hots, but i was referring to the way you allow them to drink from the pipette. upon receiving a shipped snake, should i attempt to allow them to drink out of a pipette as you do in a number of your videos?

  • For non-venomous why not, just accept you are taking a chance of being bitten...

  • true....

  • he's got a gorgeous pattern =)

  • hey Al. what size cage is appropriate for an adult Rihno viper. I have a "vision cage" that is 1.220mm wide - 711mm deep - 711mm high. would that be a good size or must it be bigger?

  • Hey Viperkeepe...wnted to knw how many snakes u have ?? And also what snake would u recomend to a beginer Venomous snake keeper..liek a very mild toxin any nice docile ones out ther that wnt loose ur limb at the same time....

  • Please watch "viperkeeper rant" & "FAQ'S"

  • I have lol

  • What makes the River Jack sniff? I read one of your comments about it having to do with their nasal horns. How do they specifically make the noise though? Is it literal sniffing?

  • Yes, They are sniffing through their nostrals

  • The Rhinoceros Viper or the River Jack is my most favourite viper! I simply love it! By the way, your little ones are really cute!

  • They're not flathead rhine vipers like Steve Ladd showed.

  • Its always a treat to see your viper collection, thankyou.

  • aww they are beautiful snakes I'd love to see them feed. so there are venomous snake shows huh? I didn't know.

  • i like the arrow like mark on its head

  • Thats the most beautiful viper i have ever seen.

  • wow the female has a beautiful marking on her head.

  • Viperkeeprer, I have a question

I like your videos and would like to know which books would you recomend for me to buy that specialises in Asian Pit vipers including Cryptelytrops Genus. I have been looking on the web, I would appreciate. (ISBN)

  • Please email me directly. I have just the book for you. viperkeeper at comcast dot net

  • This was happy =) Baby sniffs! For cute!

  • Here are some Name ideas (in case they don't have names yet):

Girl: Patches, Lil' Lady, Sylvia (just popped in my head), Joy, Athena

Boy: Bobby, Camoflauge (Camo for short; his colors remind me of an army uniform), Jitters, Sniffles Jr.

    Either/or: Arrowhead, Snuffy

  • whats a good place to learn about snake keeping? ive seen alot of different terminology used, but only some of it is familiar, the rest is pretty much greek

  • Yay, it makes my day to see a new video from you, love the baby rhinos!

  • Arghhh, I love it...

  • OMG! theres no thing on this earth that can compare to the joy i had watching that video - they are awesome!!! nasicornis are my all time fav venomous and i WILL hopefully be getting some when i have the necessary lioscencing

awesome video - fantastic snakes - i wish you the best of luck with that

  • Congrats on the new additions to your Zoo Family! They are certainly adorable.

I know the feeling about when an animal calls to you with that 'Please take me home' feeling. That's how I got my cockatiel. ^_^

  • Beautiful snakes, as usual. Question - Hamburg, Germany? If this is the city, do you have problems getting the snakes back into the U.S. with all the crazy security?

  • Hamburg, PA...no problem shipping the animals, just a pain in the ass.

  • Your too funny :)

  • Oh, so cute! How can anyone not love a face like that?

  • Sniffles had a baby huh? What are gonna call him?

  • Oh dear, I just had a funny thought. What if he named the pair, Scratch and Sniff?

  • Very cute..but I have a sniffles already.

  • I hope the little girl keeps that laid back personality. If she does she'll need a suitable name. Acheron and Aegina? greek river gods

  • "Of course people were looking at me weird, but I don't give a shit"

~~ Perfectly said in the tone of someone who has LONG since grown accustomed the odd looks!! :D haha

Very cute Al! :D Nothing will ever take the top place as my fave snakes over Gaboons & Rhinos.

  • Greetings from Norway ;)

    Great videos, lots of information.

Keep up the good work Al.

  • Thanks :-)

  • rhino vipers are awesome looking.

  • Nice vipers, i´d like to see them eating. Congratulations from México. You´re the best.

  • I will have some video of them feeding soon.

  • LOL "But I don't give a shit" classic! Beautiful snakes too!!

  • Thanks :-) I really bite my tongue most of the time. I usually tell it like it is and that's not politically correct.

  • Very good video as always, have been following you for a long time, but I think thats my first comment... either way... great vid.

  • Thanks :-)
