  • @MST3Kbot because the movie sucked

  • your going to make a game out of this?

  • This is one of the hardest games to beat I have ever played in my life! Playing this as a kid I couldn't beat it, now after 17 years I finally tracked it down and beat it. It was still really really difficult!

  • This kid is dreaming of......nevermind O.O

  • I remember being 3 and this commercial weirding me out.

  • Um, that had nothing to do with little Nemo except for the screenshots...

  • If you owned every Nintendo game, Konami game, or Capcom game on the NES, and no other publisher's game, you'd be guaranteed a good time.

For a bad time, try every Color Dreams game or LJN game.

  • @WebVMan there's nothing wrong in this comment. Amen.

  • Capcom just kept the hits rolling in the 90s.

  • Wow, Capcom was so unethical...spying on kids dreams without anyone's permission...

  • I had this game when i was 9 when it came out in 1990 and got ti for christmas. I saw the movie when i was 11 in theaters and thought it was based on the video game, later i found out the movie came out in 1989 and the game as well.

  • best game i ever played make me want to go download it right now

  • Having actually seen the movie this game is based on, it's kind of weird seeing that commercial. Then again, I don't think a lot of people in US and A had seen the movie when the game came out.

  • that was a neat game

  • Wow! A old NES commercial that wasn't too bizarre. Nice but that makes it less funny.

  • The guy driving(E.E Bell) also played Bob Rooney on Married with Children.Damn I miss the 90's.

  • Who else misses the days when video game commercials were little epic movies. Now today's are just lazy.

  • Man, that kid must have had some bad high to be dreaming about that crazy crap (and in 8-bit, too).

  • C'mon, Capcom! We're still waiting for a sequel that's exclusive to Wii under the name "Little Nemo: The Dream Master 2"!

  • This commercial is so good you can make an entire TV show based on it.

  • I didn't know there was someone who had dreams in 8-bit.

  • What a horribly stupid advertisement.

It's just "woah, dis sum crazy stuff, dude!"

  • I love how they show practically NO footage of the game to entice you to seek out the game to play it in order to really see what it's like.

  • "They don't care that there was a Nemo comic strip back in the day." 12yo's wouldn't have cared about the historical significance of Nemo being the "first cartoon," they wouldn't have even known who Windsor McCay was, hell I didn't... I played the game first, saw the movie second, so when I did see it I thought "Oh cool, they made a movie based on that kick ass NES game!"

  • Who dreamed up something so queer? I did! X-D

  • the driver looks like Jacques Renault from twin peaks

  • This ones riding a purple lizard lol

    These kids are strange lol

  • Commodore 64 in the backround on the desk in the van

  • @snake2006 I noticed that. Imagine what a Nemo game for that could've been like!

  • its so old i never seen it

  • is that al bundys friend bob rooney driving the car?

  • oh god...the floathies....nightmares are comin back DX

  • 0:18 isn't that the security guard from the amanda show?

  • ...so...they didn't reference the movie at all?

...@MST3Kbot - you beat me to it. lol

  • Big-lipped Tadpoles?

    ...no, too tempting.

  • HARRY POTTER XD

  • I'd say this was surprisingly spot-on!

  • Capcom is EVIL!

  • I just got punched in the face by some crazy dude. Dude's name is Nostalgia.

  • i remember this commercial

  • BIG LIPPED TADPOLES

  • Troppo bello Ragazzi !!!!

Non esistono Consolle belle come questa.

    16Bit 32Bit 64Bit ma che schifo !!!

Nintendo NES 8 Bit Spettacolare come Consolle !

  • Though I've never played the game, the movie was actually not too bad, quite good actually.

  • The movie wasn't too bad. Quite good actually.

  • Wow... 0:15 it's Harry Potter! Or at least, the adult version of Harry Potter. Go figure a wizard would be working for Capcom.

Those bastards steal all the good ones...

  • They made a book of all the original comics. Very well worth the buy. Very Victorian.

  • i remember when dream master the movie was out i got drunk and passed out memories :)

  • Ahh, I remember this game all too well. Never did get past the giant penguin in the final world, because I didn't know whether or not I was damaging it.

Hard to believe it was based on a comic from the early 20th century.

The remember enjoying the movie too, though it was (appropriately enough) nightmare fuel in some scenes.

  • Movie? What movie?

  • Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland

Awesome movie if you ask me :D

  • I remember renting this as a kid!

  • I didn't finish the game but I remember that it was a fuckin' successful game, I was maybe 11 in those early videogame days. :(

  • Ha yeah i forgot all about the movie....

  • 0:09 Greatest SPOILER I have seen this month

  • HAHAHA! What moron decided to use that sequense

in the commercial for the game

  • Oh my. Its good to know back then they would spy on children to find video game ideas.

  • I wonder why the don't say anything about the movie?

  • Comment removed

  • Racest Jerk!

  • I'm just keepin' it real, sparky.

  • I wasn't sure about why they didn't say anything about the movie either. That was what confused me.

  • Because the movie wasn't release until 1992.

  • I thought it was made after the movie. It would explain ehy the HVGN talked about it so much in his review.

  • It was in Japan.

  • IT ALL MAKES SINCE NOW!

  • movie is from 1989 but wasn't released in AMERICA until 1992

  • @newo82

You remember the movie, i remember the game back in 1989 and got it for christmas it was an awesome game and the anime is awesome as well.

  • @newo82 So for some of us, this was probably the first we ever heard of it, and thought the movie that came out in '92 was based on the game!

  • I coulnd never beat the final boss.....cool game.

  • That game was fun but hard. I've never seen the tv ad for this

  • Interesting how they show a very important boss fight in this commercial.

I am not going to ruin for you guys.

  • Looks like Harry Potter was looking into our dreams in the 80's.

  • i loved the game and the movie i still have both but dont remember this vid on tv at all but i guess since it was relesed in 1988 i was only a year old so that would explain it lol im just surprised after all these years my game and movie still work but i still cant get past the level after the one you have to walk on the clouds

  • me too, lol, broke my control. excelente juego aun tengo el cartucho original.

  • What the guy says at the ending is funny.

"They're gonna make a game out of this?!"

    LOL ^^

I loved the movie, but the videogame was hella hard!

  • Damned Little Nemo. That was such a hard game. Especially that level with the frig'n toy airplanes! I still cry myself to sleep at night. This commercial doesn't do it justice for the level of difficulty.

  • OOOhhh yeah this game is super hard i broke my nes control with this game

  • I vaquely remember this commercial

  • I sooo remember this commercial. Heck, if they would of made a game out of my dreams as a kid, it wouldn't turned into Bubble Bath Babes....lol

  • this was one of my all time favorite nintendo games of all time i wish i still had it ive still got everything but my little nemo game.

  • That kid in the van looked like Lou Barlow.

  • LOL, the driver is Bob Rooney from Married With Children.

  • I'm glad someone noticed! :D

  • He looks more like Matt Stone than Harry Potter.

  • HARRY POTTER WAS THERE OMFG!!!

  • HOLY SMOKES

  • the guy who says wasps looks like harry potter

  • This game was great... a complete classic.

  • man i want this game on wii virtual console!!!!

  • The third one contains my favorite Mega Man tune (Snake Man), but overall the second one has better music (excepting Crash Man, his music sucks in comparison to the others). That's the only thing 2 has over 3 imo, which makes it 0.5% better in my book.

  • I see, it sucks because it's in a different mood.

So much for your understanding of quality.

  • Little Nemo The Dream Master? More like Little Nemo: The Super Hyper Awesome Pwnage Master! Isn't it weird how Capcom just couldn't seem to make a bad NES game? They're the best 3rd party developer on the NES, IMO.

Now, I'm gonna go play some Little Nemo. Possibly grab out the movie and watch it after.

  • What about Street Fighter 2010? That's a bad NES game and it's from Capcom!

  • Well, I guess you're right, but I didn't think it was so bad...

And there's also Megaman 4 and 6, so what I said was completely inaccurate.

  • Excuse me, but megaman 6 was the best of the NES megaman games, so I don't see how your sentence at the end makes any sense.

  • Alright, you like it, I don't. (I myself thought MM2 and 3 were the best NES and pretty much best Megaman games ever.) We'll leave it at that.

  • Lol, that's fair I suppose :D

  • I hate this commercial. Maybe it's because they don't care that there was a Nemo comic strip back in the day. Oh, and that they spoil the last area and boss for no apparent reason in this commercial. Not that it was a big issue, but come on.

  • How could I forget Bionic Commando? That's also one of the greatest Capcom games. Although I quite like all Capcom NES games, even Street Fighter 2010, I do think the three best are Mega Man 2, Bionic Commando and Little Nemo. Love Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck, Rescue Rangers, Talespin, all of em. But they don't reach the epic heights these three attain. Just my opinion.

  • imo megaman 3 is betr.

  • This game has one of the best songtracks ever! I love this game.

  • Imagine if I just finished digging up dinosour's with my team-mates and I said out: "Why don't we develop a video game out of what we just did?"

  • Man I had this game before but never saw the commercial.

  • If I ever do I will. I am already telling my nephews about it. Proud of having converted them to liking traditional animation when all they had watched was Pixar and CG-type animated movies. And yes, they thought it was about that particular clownfish at first.

  • Love this game so much! This and Mega Man 2 are my favorite Capcom games for NES, although they have loads more that are excellent(Capcom and Konami, perennial faves). The animated movie is fantastic, with impressive animation, endearing characters and a decent storyline. If I ever have kids, that's what I'd like them to feel with new games and movies, what I felt when watching/playing Little Nemo.

  • oh, if you have them play the arcade version via MAME, be sure to tell them that's a little nemo game (because currently the title of the game might mislead some to believe that it might be based on a film about a certain clownfish)

  • don't forget the disney games Capcom made...they were friggin AWESOME! I remember countless nights playing duck tales for the NES!

  • those were very good (especially Darkwing Duck, Chip 'N Dale, and even Mickey Mousecapade), unlike the shitty High School Musical and Hannah Montana games that Disney's made recently.

  • I agree. Some of the recent game Disney's made I've often wondered if it had a point.

  • man duck tales was so awesome!!!!!!!!!1

  • @kibjohn - I could've sworn there was also a commercial for Chip and Dale for the NES. It was what made me want to rent it from the video store.

  • @Cynicgods wow honestly i couldn't agree more i was really about to say everything you just did good show cynigods good show!

  • @Cynicgods

Did you know Litlte Nemo is an anime? it's from the makers of Akira and the same animators. This game was awesome, what about Rescue Rangers or Ducktales games from Capcom?

  • @Johnlindsey289 yes. i have seen a couple of copies in some goodwill stores. and it's animated by TMS who is also the same company who animated Lupin the 3rd, Sonic X and Batman The Animated Series.

  • movie de mierda

  • Love the game, but I didn't remember the commercial being this lame...hmmmmm.

  • well ... another crappy commercial but this time its for a GOOD GAME! lol

  • I liked the ROM hack Little Remo better.

  • What year is the Ford van in this commercial and did it make a chime sound or a buzz sound?

  • it was the best game on nes .. it was a lot harder than mario

  • the challenging part of this game was which animal was more useful for whatever situation (i.e. the gorilla being the most useful when facing certain monsters that took more than one hit)

  • When I saw the movie as a kid, I thought "OMG, THEY MADE A MOVIE ABOUT THAT NES GAME?" I had no idea who Windsor McCay was, or that he was pretty much the guy who made the first "cartoon" back in 1911. There was also an arcade game which I had the pleasure of playing via M.A.M.E. although I didn't like the whole staff thing, it was very short-ranged.

  • when did this comershell happen

  • this game was released in 1990 (at the same time Capcom released an arcade game which was loosely based on the TMS anime which didn't get that much attention in the US)

  • where did it get much attention

  • it was released in Japan and some parts of the world. but it was the NES game that got the attention of US gamers

  • I never saw the commercial of little nemo. Little nemo was an awesome game if i had an NES i would buy it.

  • wtf hhahaha

  • i guess capcom wanted to go beyond surveys and questionaires for little nemo
