I think the problem is people who think they can coat about 3 layers of cheap spray and expect it to just work. Its not going to be cheap, the quality of the finish 100% depends on the quality of the products! i found you can use a bit of acetone to get the waxy coat of the controllers thus giving you no need to put a bonding coat on, a good 2-3 THIN layers of good quaity paint then a clear coat. If done properly and without cutting corners it will look amazing!

@MyCustomXbox when i paint i doi several light layers the paint job itself is great...BUT when i clear it the clear after a few weeks of play started to actually rub off. i used krylob fusion pains prepped it accordingly washed it dried it went over every inch of it BEFORE painting it. just as soon as i started to play with it (1 1/2 weeks later) 1/2 a month into it the clear is rubbing off? is their a step i missed?

@MrMarshMeloh I would suggest a primer, I really don't understand why he uses a adhesive promotor, the controller has a texture to the surface, the primer will make the texture disappear and give a nice smooth finish to the paint. BUT I always spray a thick coat of primer, and then wetsand this coat with 1200 waterproof sandpaper.
