@kingmula2 Yeah there are a few ways to do it. The most straight-forward way is to open TNM and then type "open 01_NYC_UNATCOIsland" (without the quotes) into the console. We won't be held responsible for any bugs you encounter when you play it that way ;-)
Eh... a little overrated, if you ask me. All the areas you could access by subway didn't look radically diff., despite between quite diff. areas of the town. The slums, I guess, were supposed to be the "poor" part of town while the corporate district is the 'wealthy' area? And what's with that llamas and goats bs? That's the BS you could come up with? I mean, I know that in-game cult shit's probably not supposed to be taken that seriously. but still...
The map was so fucking irritating in some areas, esp. when you had to find Despot or get the Firestaff. Should've at least made it a little more straightforward.
You guys REALLY worked on this for 7 years??? And btw, what's with the repetitive naming crap for the main characters (King Kashue and Scara King)? Yeah... that's not annoying AT ALL. Is "King" like his title in the PXD co. or whatever or his first name? Kinda dumb, if you ask me. And having a last name "King"? Totally unoriginal.
Storyline was OK, but I expected a lot more. Up until the last few missions, it just felt like a wild goose chase.
The fact that, no matter whether you choose WorldCorp or PXD in the beginning, you're pretty much doing the same kinds of missions like 80% of the time probably (I only played through the WorldCorp story and then about an hour or two of the PXD) is also pretty fucking stupid. You should've made the diff. storylines MORE DIFFERENT, not basically just two branches of the same overarching bullcrap.
Btw, nice hatchet job with the lying sack of shit trailer. Anyone who's ACTUALLY played the game like I have knows damn well that the vast majority of the footage in this video is actually cutscene shit mostly during the very beginning used as a backdrop before the main story starts. To get you introduced to the current state of the world
The fact that you couldn't find more real-time game footage of Trestkon and the other characters ACTUALLY DOING THE MISSIONS N SHIT that was worth putting in the game really says a lot about your subconscious lack of confidence in your own product, and that makes me weary.
@whoo689 What the actual fuck is wrong with you, boy? I wish I could believe you were just trolling, I really do.
Have some respect for the labour of these men and women, you conceited little sod. Any idea how much effort went into this? No? This is a team not a quarter of the size of the guys who made Deus Ex, and they've made a full length game with completely original content, side missions and parallel storylines. If you don't like it, go play whatever bullshit captivates you instead.
Wow! I'm so looking forward to playing this either in the next few days or Tuesday (my day off). :D After beating Deus Ex again (for the first time in about a decade), having seen how shitty Invisible War is and being a little disappointed by Human Revolution, this will be AWESOME.
I just finished this mod and it's awesome, much more relax than the original and with cool characters. The only thing that annoyed me is that I'm french and there is no trad. But I really liked this mod, there should be a remake on Human Revolution, but that will take another ten years... Great job anyway :)
I just tried it, I am only at the beginning but wow, I am really impressed, that fanfic shop was really a conference, is really interesting to hear about all those stuff.
I remember once I was going through the Corporate District sewers, and when I got back to the streets, a random lady tells me "Have you EVER heard of personal hygiene".
Jonas, thank you so much! That Fraps works a million times better than any other screen capture program I have ever used! I will use it always beginning - now!
I have finished TNM once already, and I know that when I'm playing in the 2nd time, I can buy the DD's fireblade from Raving "the 2nd day". However, if I steal something from his weaponshop, that will make him and Andreus hostile and I won't be able to purchase the blade, right?
Now I'm asking do you know what items I may NOT steal and MAY steal from Nutter's the 1st day? If I could just take some items there, which Raving won't recognise to be stolen?
@ONNIHOLTTA You can grab anything that's just lying around, but if you take something from the display cases without paying for them, that's stealing - and then you can't buy the fireblade.
@jonaswaever ah, thanks, but may I ask a little more?
but i think i didn't even steal from the display cases during my 1st playthrough - at least I stole some stuff next to raving nutter's room (the locked room near raving), i guess there are the supergood gloves there in the same room. and i also disabled the cameras with the security computer, maybe that makes nutter think I "stole" something? If I take stuff from the locked room, does it make raving hostile?
Hi Jonas. Your mod is the best that with I ever played. Thank you for your great work. I also would like to ask that what is the name of the music in the trailer? Is it available somewhere? This game is quite better than any of the multicorp games of nowadays.
@AuroraDynamics Thanks! The music was composed by Leo Badinella especially for the trailer, and it's not currently available to download. Perhaps we'll chuck it online at some point :-)
Great job on the mod guys! I'd gladly pay 70 bucks for something like this, especially compared to the games you get nowadays. The trailer could have done with a "In a world..." line at the beginning. XD "In a world, where a powerful enforcer goes missing..."
I started playing Deus Ex for the first time 2 months ago, i never played it before, but it's one of the best gameplay experiences i've ever had. Fuck graphics, the gameplay counts! When i'm through i gonna check this one out 7 years production, must be quality
No, but if you load up the game expecting a bunch of inside jokes, you will see them everywhere. So don't - just go with the flow, and when something unexplained pops up, wait for it to be explained or look for hidden connections like you would in any other fictional world.
@jonaswaever Talking about Deus Ex and the nameless mod, i don't intend to call ion storm stupid, but i feel the nameless mod is much better, especially the AI is smarter.
May i ask why Phas likes his TV so much? When i destroy it he tends to try to kill me, and continue being an enemy.
@DGrayMan4551 Well what would you do if somebody smashed your TV? He shouldn't stay angry though, at the very least he should be friendly again next time you need to talk to him.
And thanks for the praise - really though we didn't do a lot of work on the AI, it's mostly the original DX routines still in place.
Ahh, tnm, i loved it, it's all about choices, whatever you will do, game will change. Even small stupid thing like knocking someone instead of killing, it makes so big dif for abig run, gj!
Could anything possibly be better than the original Deus Ex?
If I do say so myself, TNM does some things better or at least more impressively than Deus Ex. But you know... Deus Ex is Deus Ex, and when TNM is at its best, it's because it's exactly like Deus Ex :P
I'm going to play after I get half-life 2 finished. I have to reinstall dsx since we just upgraded to windows 7. And F.E.A.R. 2 is out there vastly tempting me... Too many games to play, so little time. I'll do TNM before F.E.A.R 2
Hey Jonas, awesome stuff. TNM rocks! I like what you did to all my maps after I retired. I'm still playing it through and I'm impressed by everyone's mad skills. Our mod in some ways is even better than Deus Ex itself (and absolutely better than DXIW in everything except the physics engine). Let me know if you want to go for round 2 & I'll rejoin. Toodles.
Great job, am so pleased to have a copy of this after 'lurking' the website for the last couple of years wondering if it would really be finished! Have played a few hours of it and am enjoying it - lots of good characters and good fun, thank you for all the work you put into this.
Just fantastic work! I've played it for 2 hours and can't believe how good it is. Congrats!
Btw with antialising and anisotropic (forced from control panel - nvidia) the game looks really good considering the engine age - 10 years (unreal 1 engine).
RESPECT! This mod is one of the best mods I ever saw. 7 Years in development and now it's finally done! You guys have writed history in the Deus ex cummunity! I am now posting the outcome of the mod on some DX forums. =)
5/5 Goodluck in the future! We all love you guys! :)
Ah, god damn I cannot wait. I've been waiting since like 2005 for this. I can't imagine what you guys must be feeling! SEVEN years. That's a long fucking time. I'll be downloading it ASAP.
Hope to see you guys in the future. I know you mentioned at one point about maybe doing another project with J1M's engine, no? Either way, good luck to you all.
We do indeed have something in the works post-TNM. We likely won't be using Jim's engine straight away though. We'll be updating our blog with details when things get fleshed out a little more!
Okay, this may end up going through twice, so my bad if it does. It's just not showing up anywhere. Go figure!
But either way, I look forward to playing it. It's nice to know that there are people who, like me, prefer a balance of open-ended gameplay and awesome storylines. And I've occasionally popped up on the forums and always find it one of the nicer places online. As an aspiring modeler and game designer, you guys are an inspiration.
