  • @CommanderFoxcc10 yah ebay or you can get it off of games workshop/hobbycraft :)

  • finally a good vieo of how to make trees

  • Excellent vids, very informative, just wondering if u could make the tree foliage out of something stiffer and then make copies?

  • @mathew112234 hmm,, this is a pretty good suggestion. I should give it a try. If you try it let me know how it goes.

  • not bad!

  • so cool im going to make some for my blythe dolls! <3

  • 0:01 Skip ad

  • what kinda materials do you use?

  • what i do is just use the twigs i have from my tree in my backyard, no work at all and very realistic.

  • OMG! YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG IT HAS TAKEN ME TO FIND A TREE MAKING TUTORIAL!

  • @merkonerko2 Kind of ironic! With the internet sometimes is hard to see the trees for the forest! Hope my tutorial helps. I have a whole bunch of terrain and tree making tutorials on my website too :)

  • Wow. Just... Wow!

  • @xXxKazamaxXx Thanks! I have another tree making tutorial coming :)

  • I use good old pipe cleaners. Easy to bend to shape and already has a decent wood effect. Seen people using bandages for thicker trees soaked in PVA watered down.

Just how I do it, always nice to look at how other people do it though, my method wont do as well as yours for making thick trees though, neither can mine have knots.

  • A quick tip, if you use papertape for the trunk instead of clay it'll give a nice woody effect, and it'a lot cheeper then plastic clay.

  • @ghostboy777 Excellent tip. thanks, I will give it a try.

  • Thank you for the video. The only thing I wish is that I could watch you do the parts that are skipped over because of time. I wouldn't know how to add the foliage like that. I thought the same on your sculpting minis video too. I wish that YT would let you have longer videos so I could see how you sculpted the details. Thanks again.

  • please help me with the things i need to build one...

  • i made one with paperclips.

  • do you have a picture of it?

  • It can de done with thos paper clips??

  • Yes, you can make miniature trees with paper clips. Give it a try!

  • Thanks for the info it was helpful. Also, your web site is very inspiring...I can't believe how many different things you have going on!

  • Great job!! It looks really good!! 5 stars

  • some of the branches are visible, and takes away from it i think, they appear way too skinny for the trunk, would it make sense to apply sculpy to parts of the branches as well?

  • Yes, great suggestion. It would look much better if more sculpey were used to fill out the brranches too. Thanks !

  • dude. baad foliage covering on the branches there.

  • 5 stars for that 1 as well -i have a question can u do a tutorial on making buildings it would be a great help for the stop motin movie im doing the tree does seem pretty hard but i will try: please do the buildings it would be a great help

  • Hi epicfantasy, have you ever done pine trees before if so can you show me how. thanks chris

  • Hi! This is a great idea. I will definitely do a tutorial on how to make realistic pine trees. Thanks :)

  • Great job. 5/5 stars.

  • wow !!! awsome

  • this is another way to make trees, but this it not seem real.

I have seen another ways to make trees better.

Is a suggestion and is my personal opinion, I appreciatte your work and that you want to share with us.

  • Thanks for watching, Can you send me a link to the other way. I would love to see and make some. I will do a tutorial too! Appreciate it!

  • did anyone else notice that the little figure looked like it was breathing???

    great video!!

  • cool trees making cant wait to try this out

  • it's quite good!!!

the only thing a bit expensive is flock

  • has anyone experimented with real trees (branches cut to resemble small trees)

  • lol bonsai?

  • yes i have i made 4 -6 trees from real tree branches that are the right size for many things

  • do you know any good online resources for materials? i find it hard to find good (and cheap) fake leaves or substitutes

  • i will check out some sites i have in my fav on my computer and check back with u later tonight

  • Sometimes you can get the woodland scenics tree making stuff cheap on ebay.

  • I have never tried real trees and have heard mixed results. some say its great, others say the trees don't stay preserved over the long term, dunno

  • well i've had some tree models now for over a year.. so i think they are good in the long term if they aren't being moved too much. Although i've never experienced it, i would assume some heat sensitive adhesives could be trouble under intense lighting.. also have to be careful about scraping and chipping little pieces during shooting for continuity..other then that it's Green, cheap, and already comes fully detailed thanks to mother nature..

  • Thanks for the post.. can never seem to find much on this topic.. especially b/c i don't do "minatures' persay.. the characters in my stop animation are about 8-10 inches tall.. so the trees i'm creating are anywhere from 24"-35"

  • Cool, I am going to be doing a stop motion animation tutorial with pipe cleaners. I haven't done a stop motion tutorial in a while. Need to do another :)

  • Nice job...

    It looks great:)

    Tree-riffic!

  • Love it epic!

Really detailed and shows us a fantastic way of doing it. Really different to how I would do it and is a much better way. I just don't quite know how you do it!

Do you know anyway of making a trench diorama? It would be a really fun video to make im sure and I could really use it for a trench project im about to be given.

  • Thanks! I do have a trench making video somewhere in my playlists. Its not real detailed, it just shows how to make the shell of the trench. Maybe it will help. You have got to send me pics of your project!

  • great vid
